Most insurance carriers require the same comorbidities. Diabetes Severe sleep apnea High blood pressure (controlled or not) Coronary artery disease Hyperlipemia Seems to be the common ones Good luck.

    Dumping syndrome any advice? ?

I had dunping syndrome and am sleeved. It happened with two things. Frozen yogurt --- full fat or full sugar Falafel --- deep fried fat goodness Take a look at what you ate and that should point you to what not to eat for a bit. Also dumping syndrome happens and you get it all out and then that's it. Usually within 15-30 minutes after eating. If it continues all night or past that it is not dumping it's something else.

    Help Please!

You have FMLA in this country for a reason. Assuming it's the us based on those dates You apply for disability and you get the time you need and your job is protected. Don't understand why people don't take advantage of protections put in place
  4. I've lost only those who never were friends to begin with. That's my perspective. One lost 95 pounds on her own and I supported her the whole way. Ww, Zumba etc. I gained weight while providing this support And she couldn't support me in this. Oh well

    Constipation

I do two Fiber gummies a day has helped. I go pretty regularly. Evry other day or so I use milk of magnesia if it goes more than 3 days. I just don't feel good mode than 3 days without going My parents use smooth move tea every day and it works for them. My mom also made me a baked apple last month that sent me running to the potty in couple hours That was her goal

Abuse of wls..when it's not needed

You know this is pretty judge mental I had to lose 90. Am down 70. Am 5'5. Doesn't seem like a lot if I was 6 foot now does it? My friend had a sleeve 3 months ago. She had exactly 47 pounds to lose Yes she was approved by her jnsurance and yes she is 4 pounds from goal. She struggles every day. She's also 4'9! So her 47 are the equivalent of my 90. Don't fucking judge.

    anyone have Cigna?

You have to do a supervised diet with your surgeon I believe not a medical weight loss clinic. Not sure they'll accept that. Your surgeon may want you to meet with their nutritional counselors and make sure you understand how your new tool works. I had been on diets for years and documented with my PCP and medications and they accepted only the 3 visits with the surgeon I have previously posted the cigna requirements. Here they are again https://cignaforhcp.cigna.com/public/content/pdf/coveragePolicies/medical/mm_0051_coveragepositioncriteria_bariatric_surgery.pdf Make sure you review thoroughly
  8. What is pg? I can eat and drink at same time as well. But I choose not to. It's not like the sleeve restricts that for me. I stick to the wait half an hour rule. I am reading between the lines based on your comments that you're no longer following the rules as set forth by your nutritionist or doc? Do you really need another surgery ? If you don't follow the rules now for your tool how will you be in a year? I don't mean this in a mean way. I just want you to realize it's a tool not a cure. And the tool has rules
  9. Insurance requirement was 89 days and 3 nutritional visits. Doctor required EGD and psych clearance met surgeon in February and was ready April. GI doc insisted on a colonoscopy due to family history he found during egd. As others have stated know your insurance requirements directly from them. My surgeons insurance coordinator kept messing up the filing. I was sleeved 6/24
  10. This will sound ridiculous. I love when my mom makes salad. It's a simple iceberg lettuce. Delish vinegar oil salt pepper. Nothing special. Then I used to take that and place it inside a piece of really crusty portuguese bread. Just that no meats. The dressing soaks into the bread. And yum!!
  11. I was never like this. But the most I ever ate before was a blimpie best sandwich. We always got a footlong and fully loaded. I would easily eat the 6 inch and sometimes about 2-3 inches of the other half. I'd force it so it didn't go bad. Since June I've bought 1 Hubby had the 6 inch and was stuffed. He's been cutting down for over a year. I ate a whole inch slice of it And then done for hours and hours.

    Protein !:-(

It's not "free" someone always pays. In many cases your insurance. And the scar cream is highway robbery. Then we all pay by having higher healthcare costs as the years go on

    Tax write off!?!?!?

I think some folks use protein shakes and other items. Not just protein bars. And if you buy ready made then even more cost. My protein shakes cost $30 every two days. So 180 days x $30 = $5400 a year ? Then bars. Then the vitamins being they're prescribed as a must So depending on your personal lifestyle. Yes I guess you could deduct it I don't use shakes or bars anymore I eat real food and get my nutrients there. Plus I have no desire to get into a pissing match or raise any flags with the IRS. Thanks. No thanks.

Bcbs without a doubt closed Friday after turkey day. I would give it until tomorrow and call again

Sick and tired of explaining myself...

I agree with vsgann. You need to lay down the law. Your family thinks this is a cure and expecting to see hundreds of pounds melt overnight and then will talk about how you regained it all. Fuck them Tell them next time the concern is appreciated but not a topic for discussion with ignoramuses and change the subject. Continue on your docs plans. Don't call it a diet that just fuels their bs It's a lifestyle not a diet

    Protein !:-(

The whole foods near me sold multiple protein powders in sample sizes. I bought all of them pre op and tried and found one I loved. Tera's Whey blueberry flavored

    Is it just me or...?

Can you have some cottage cheese on side ? That can cut the spiciness of it. Also sour cream. I prefer the cottage cheese. Matter of fact is have that and skip the potatoes

    Insurance

Teresa every insurance is different. What one company jumps on right away the next does not Depends on how big they are, how well staffed Many of them were closed last Friday and certainly last Thursday. They still have doctors offices who fax in on Friday and Saturday. So they work those first. Chill. Give it a couple days. Call on Friday. If they don't have t by then- Call your surgeon and have them send it again. Who is your carrier?
  20. Please post before / after pics if you're comfortable. My insurance will cover paniculectomy if it hangs below pubis at 18 months. Not sure it will but will cross that bridge in 12 more months
