Trying to change habits pre-surgery is proving hard for me
Jersrose43 replied to jessiquoi's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I started several months before as well My start was building up to the no drinkin up to 30 minutes later. The next biggee my one coke a day had to go. I really miss seltzer Water so desperately. The coke not so much at all. Then I got rid of bread, Pasta etc Then last was the chewing believe it or not. That was the hardest. Doesn't seem so but made me feel like a cow chomping on grass all day. -
Can you call Medicaid and determine their requirements? Find out what did not qualify you directly.

Don't work for UHS Ddont want to unless im desperate The people I know who work there aren't happy either. It's the policy makers not the folks you get who really are trying to help you -
Especially since I've noticed many of us who have the surgery end up discovering a hernia.

So there was a post about this a few weeks ago about someone who went back/wrote a letter to their enployer on the cost of non weight loss coverage. Many employees unfortunately don't see the forest for the trees, but it is changing. The industry is pushing health and wellness and not sick care, he was able to show the potential down the road costs to an employer of being obese and not paying for wls. I will try to find and send you link please share with your employer -

You can be kicked off the parental plan but you are then offered cobra benefits u believe Unfortunately the pricing isn't always very favorable. Sorry But at that point have the surgery with the parental plan and easily transition to obamacare plan This is true now certainly not 4 years ago Hope you have gotten better -
Buffleheads I love you. Have myself a panic attack this morning. Had these nasty little slimies I had the foam a little spit up and panicked because I saw a trace of blood So I started to calm down. It's day 6. A trace is not unsual the bigger concern was the 'acidy' feel/taste if the uckiness It's slime. I feel better. Tummy upset Gonna call doctor later anyway I think I need more than omeprazole

This is one of the beauties if Obama care no more pre-existing questions and no changes in premium due to conditions which is great However UHS sells policies to self funded employers and municipality's and governments based on customizable options. It really isn't them. There are many many UHS policies which do cover wls I hope everything for you is now back on track. ???????? -
Insurance help

Hi I have worked in insurance for 20 years. Couple things : 1- never drop employer coverage unless they pay you to do so. Free money on the table 2- you can keep employer and buy your own through obamacare 3- before you go obamacare check out what other options employer offers and be really clear on what coverage youre looking for. To be very clear - this has nothing to do with uhc- they sell self funded plans where employers pick and choose what they can cover. If your employer has excluded the wls from this plan it's likely excluded from all policies they offer But check first. 4- if you buy your own make sure they have the coverage. It's a federal plan and has minimum required standards. You should be able to find something. They will both be primary coverage for you so you can pick which one you would use and the other can help pick up your deductibles, copays etc 5- the best possible option- are you married? Find out if you can get on his plan of it's covered Use that 6- 2nd best option - are you under age 26? Get on your parents policy if possible and see if it's covered there. Good luck pm me if you need help -

Just checking in op. How are you? -
The Medicaid wil only save you from paying anything out of pocket

There is no "fighting" or haggling. The rules are the rules

So I work in health insurance so you need to know this: There are federal regulations over who covers first Medicaid always covers last as per federal law You must follow both the insurance guideline of you want coverage from both But extremely important is to follow the primary insurance company guidelines because if they do NOT cover than you're screwed because the policy on the 2nd will clearly disallow any coverage at all whether you followed their guidelines or not. The only exception is the lack of coverage or benefit exclusion. Follow both insurance guidelines to be truly fully covered The coordination of benefits rules are clearly followed by all carriers nationally in the same way: Your insurance from an employer pays first Spouse insurance pays second Any insurance where you are listed as dependent pays second Medicare pays first for retired people only If you are working and have other insurance medicare pays second Tricare- federal insurance for military pays last after all commercial insurance payers pay. Medicaid always pays last - carrier of last resort Anyone who tells you different is sadly not good at insurance You do NOT get a choice of who pays first/second etc. Your insurances have guidelines to follow especially with government funded entitlement plans. Read your policy look for coordination of benefit clauses

Dance til you drop!

You must follow the primary. Medicaid Is insurer of last resort and it's federal law that they require the other to pay first. The truth of the matter is that the caid pays less than Aetna so what happens to the doc is that they get nothing more from caid and have to write off your copays and deductibles. Keep both. Follow both rules. You will pay nothing. Bad for doc and hospital, as no additional payments, expect their frustration or counseling to drop it. If you qualify you qualify why would you not protect yourself.
