Travel, and it's a learning experience
Jersrose43 replied to fezik23's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
At the airport I go for a sandwich Usually they have somewhere with deli. Here at Newark they make huge sandwiches and I order one. Have them wrap the 2 haves separately First half I remove the break and eat the deli meats for lunch. I keep the other half for later on in the travel day. Many places at airport also have yogurts, some fruits and veggie packs In a pinch - like today- I went to starbucks and grabbed an egg salad sandwich and just removed 1 piece of the multigrain bread and ate the other half. -

Travel, and it's a learning experience
Jersrose43 replied to fezik23's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I travel for work at lest once a ml th. I have found that I tend to lose no weight on trips - not enough Water usually. But I don't gain so yay me You can do this. Just follow your doc and nutritionist rules and slowly but surely. The other thing when I am traveling is I rarely get out to see the sights ever. Just inside of offices and hotels. Well since June I've made a real point to get out for a walk. I usually walk every night. In Dallas 3 nights and 1 mile per night in plano Chattanooga 2 nights and walked from hotel, along river, and back to hotel each night. 3 miles round trip each night. Scranton next week. Let's see what o can come up with. -

Really upset with psych
Jersrose43 replied to kyrickchick64's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I would call the psych and ask why they wrote that and what action steps you need to take. Play nice find another doc while playing nice and get another eval. Be saccharine during that eval. Submit. -

So there are many hospitals in the nation who self insure. And when they do this their employees are given extremely good rates for seeking all care at that hospital and its employee physicians. It's really unfortunate that they up and left and have no other options. However the situations sounds really fishy and perhaps you saved yourself a lot of heartache and complications in the long run

You should call and find out directly from uhc what the medical policy is for your employer. They sell policies that are self funded and every employer plan can be different -

/laryngopharyngeal reflux. Anyone have it? Advice ?
Jersrose43 posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
So the only "side effect" I have had fr my sleeve on 6/24 is what I believed to be constant acid. Am on omeprazole 40 mg twice daily. My surgeon doesn't think I have acid and it'll resolve itself eventually. Am starting to believe him. Some days it's great no issues. Other omg My symptoms are not heartburn or typical of acid. I feel burning in my throat so I googled all my symptoms and I came up with this http://www.m.webmd.com/heartburn-gerd/guide/laryngopharyngeal-reflux-silent-reflux Apparently silent reflux and may be caused by some regurgitation which I do experience if I eat too fast or too much Looking for advise from anyone, how do you make it better? What I've researched is that a ppi won't help this. I am going to schedule an appt with my GI this week but some sites state to go see an ent? Very confused. Help! -

Excercise and asthma after surgery?
Jersrose43 replied to Wallflower7522's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I developed asthma around age 30. Now 44. The sleeve has helped immensely ! Haven't used my 3 inhalers since surgery. I will tell you- and this sounds ridiculous - that my pulmonologist and PCP both feel that I had silent reflux and that exacerbated the asthma. Considering the acid is getting better as I am on ppi and have not used inhalers or nebulizer. Maybe they're right who knows. I would suggest you discuss with a pulmonologist asap to determine where your asthma is coming from Can be excercise and you always had it or could be the acid creating it in which case a ppi can help you resolve it. -
Well according to this have already beat the 80% odds at 3 months out from sleeve Maybe I should go to Vegas. Good luck all

Having a Drama *King* Moment! :-)
Jersrose43 replied to fatblasting's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok so blunt is who I am You need to have a conversation with your significant other. You said yourself what is going wrong ---- carbs, sugar, drinking when you eat. She can do it and get away with it. Good for her. A supportive partner will see this is not working for you. Am guessing she prepares the meals. Perhaps you need to help out a little in the planning. If she wants to continue on her path you need to decide if that's the path you will follow or will you stick to your plan for your body and health. I am sorry if I was too harsh. I don't mean to be. But you said it all yourself. Join a support group if you are able. Leave her home during those sessions. -
I don't think so. I think your surgeon has to submit an approximate date and they just call and update it
