  1. <p>Wow, I was 3 weeks post op this past Monday, and I am feeling pretty lucky after reading these. I have been very lucky to have no nausea, no fatigue, and no soreness since the 5th or 6th day. I kind of was bad and skipped right over the pureed food stage, and went right to soft. I just couldn't stand the thought of pureed. But please don't change what you are doing because of me. I was just so careful to chew it until it was pureed. I am still on soft foods, and it is so much better. I did learn a valuable lesson yesterday though.....I had errands to run on my lunch hour, and ate my lunch way too fast. Let me tell you, it was awful. Instant nausea, sweating, and felt awful for about 15 mins. So I learned the hard way......eat VERY slowly. :) I wish you the best - hope you continue to feel better and better! Maybe you had a stomach bug? There is a nasty one going around where I live, and I live in mortal fear of getting it! Take care of yourself, and feel better soon!</p>

    Aunt GG

I tried 1 scrambled egg this morning and mushed it up and chewed but I think I ate too fast and got a little sick.

Sometimes when I take a drink I feel a pain so I think it is the gulp is too big. When I sip it isn't bad. It is so hard not to just drink a lot.

  2. <p>Hello all -</p> <p> </p> <p>I know several of us are hitting our 1 month mark this week. Mine is today. </p> <p> </p> <p>The body is an incredible thing, truly. It's a healing machine quite frankly. </p> <p> </p> <p>At one and two weeks out: </p> <p>-you wonder what you have done to yourself and you are pretty sure you will never feel quite normal again</p> <p>-you can't imagine yourself ever sleeping anywhere but the living room recliner</p> <p>-the thought of driving or going back to work seems like an unrealistic commitment you made Way Back Before Surgery</p> <p>-you can get in so little Water and Protein that it dawns on you that THESE are the weeks that will cause Hair loss several months from now</p> <p>-you learn what "sliming" is (ewwww)</p> <p>-MyFitnessPal tells you repeatedly: "You are getting too few calories. If every day were like today, you would be DEAD in 5 weeks." </p> <p> </p> <p>At three weeks out: </p> <p>-you feel better but not really there yet</p> <p>-you need extra naps on the weekend</p> <p>-getting in your water and protein can be done with the effort of a full time job</p> <p>-you have a strange painful stitch in your side that you've resigned yourself to bravely live with the rest of your life</p> <p>-you accidentally sleep all night with the heating pad on your largest incision site on its highest setting</p> <p>-you walk 20 minutes on the treadmill and then come onto this site and disbelievingly post, "WHEN did they say I should start exercising????"</p> <p>-your body decides you must be on a grueling episode of Survivor and goes into starvation mode yielding the world's most devastating weight loss stall prompting you to decide that you are a failure and did this all for NOTHING</p> <p> </p> <p>At four weeks out: </p> <p>-you sleep in your own bed in whatever position you want</p> <p>-the fire-hazardous heating pad gets put away</p> <p>-you walk 2+ miles at lunch and think maybe you could have done more</p> <p>-you have enough energy to really start cleaning the house again and get totally aggravated at hubby and kids for how little they managed to do for the past month</p> <p>-you randomly feel happy, mad, silly, sad as hormones and emotions take their toll</p> <p>-you have to pack up the first set of clothes which are now too big</p> <p>-you feel healthy....dare I say...normal?</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p>Yep, the first month is kind of amazing. </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p>

Omg this just made me cry. I am 10 days out and needed to hear this. Thank you!

  3. So... This week made 9 months post op VSG-- LOVE my little sleeve (Mikey). Getting enough Protein but slacking a little on the Water intake (which I'm paying for this week w/ heart palpitations). I'm exercising most days a week, which I'm really enjoying.

I've been getting random complements from strangers-- that's cool. And I love walking in heels all day long. Lol.

I still don't (and won't) eat any breads, Pasta, rice, or potatoes. I've only lost 1 lb in the past month-- but as long as the scale is moving downward, I'm happy.

Oh, and I ate crawfish for the first time since surgery-- yum. I managed to get through King Cake season w/o giving in & I'm finding Lent a little easier on the diet. lol

    New goals:

    - increase Water intake from 40 oz to 60 oz

    - lose 2 lbs by the 1st week of May (my next follow up appointment)

    - save $$ for plastic surgery

    :)

Omg you had shrimp!! I am 7days post op and I am a seafood love and just saw a red lobster commercial and questioned if I could ever have shrimp lobster crab ... This just mad me happy!

I find seafood is the easiest to eat- shrimp, crab, fish, crawfish. Lobster tends to feel a little "heavy" in the sleeve, but I can eat NEARLY a whole tail (with nothing else).

    That makes my day!!!

  4. Hi everyone! So the pain was from the tube. Once they took it out it went away! Thank heaven! In my mind I thought it was my appendix!!

I am getting a drain, I'm afraid of the pain when they take it out. Is that super painful?

Don't be afraid! I was and it took one sec and I was still thinking they were done and the nurse holding my hand was like you can breathe. It wasn't bad at all. ;)

  6. Hi everyone! I am 5 days post sleeve surgery and I think just nervous. I was on my liquid diet up through yesterday and this morning introduced a few bites of unsweetened applesauce. My heart seems to been moving a little quicker. But other than that I feel fine. I was checked for a leak on day two. I had my lap band removed 9weeks ago. Did anyone notice difference when going from liquid to puréed, maybe cuz my body hasn't had it in a while?

  7. Hi everyone! I had sleeve surgery on Monday morning. All my incisions are upper abdomen and I have a drainage tube. I am doing great pain wise with the exception of a major pain in my lower right abdomen and it has me really scared. I am hoping it will go away when tube is taken out but starting to get worried. Has anyone had this problem?
