Naked Juice 38 grams of Protein
1bayougirl replied to MyMeshelle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I live on juices! Just remember to check/keep up with carbs/cals. i drink a small JAMBA JUICE smoothie 3 times a week- they give complete nutrition guides and the low cal ones are 180 cals or less beware of the others! My nutritionist is cool with these. banded 9/07 -
I find that a warming lotion (flavored like strawberry champagne, for you both) helps immensely, add a SMALL non threatening vibrating divicE to his scrotum (no asking) and he'll loosen up and get curious. You should talk to hiim about your needs, nicely-"you know, i really love to be touched ____" "it makes me want you so much" TRUST ME- HE'LL APPRECIATE IT. remember, pleasing you, will make him feel good about himself and his abilities as a lover and a man as well. do you agree"whosyourdaddy"?

Thank you for your reply. I truly appreciate your openness. I have been to counselors many times since the end of my previous marriage for both family and some personal. I had a professional dieter for a birth mother and was on diet pills as early as the 4th grade because, "NO CHILD OF MINE WILL BE FAT" truth is I was put on thyroid meds and diet pills (amphetimens were legal then). TRY weaning a kid off those ( my poor dad). WE now have a good relationship. It really messed up my metabolism. I had a couple of step fathers-one abusive. I was a ""favorate". I realy relate to adding weight as a "protective layer" from men. I have fought depression for most of my adult life. I am in a good place now. With a husband who adores me and builds me up, a wonderful church, and my children are older and getting independent. My husband is more understanding than most because his previous went through gastric bypass and he was there for that and the plastic surgery afterwards. He was here before my surgery and even told me to expect the body image and mind games. I am blessed to have him. He loved me 45 pounds ago and loves me now. I can honestly say it is unconditional. I just need to break this cycle!

I do have a support group, but do to famliy illness and issues I haven't been able to go. I even know another lady at work who had the same surgery after me and trust me, she is unmotivated. Every time I speak to her she is negative.

Fill monday , lots 7lbs by friday... this normal?
1bayougirl replied to jls_27's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Boy do I envy you! The rate of loss has a lot to do with your current weight and what the dr is comfortable with. I weigh about 184 now and the dr says if I lose more than 2 pounds a week I will get loosened. It's due to my structure, weight and his comfort zone. -

SHAVED ICE IS YOUR FRIEND! Especially if you get tightness or productive burps -
Thank Heavens I found you !!! Can My mind meds "cymbalta" be causing me to NOT LOOSE weight? :confused:I have been stagnant for about 3 months now and am getting frustrated. They weaned me off of one med while building me up to the cymbalta (my miracle med). As for moods, I am blessed. My husband had been very prepared to handle mood changes, a nd body image, and has been extremely devoted. Now if I could only get my eating and moods straight!:smile2:

1st Fill July 29 - Any Advice?
1bayougirl replied to RaquelinTexas's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
don't go in with a full stomache, be ready to drink alot of h2o to help guage the tightness of the fill. so be thirsty. try to stay on clear liquids for the next day or 2 to avoid productive burps or painful tightness while your stomache acclimates. :smile2: banded 9/07 45 down- slow loser, but ok with that -
No Problems here! I"m pretty feisty. I admit that for a few weeks after the surgery I wasn't quite as rambuctious, but all's well now. You might want to wait awhile on handstands or certain Karma Sutra positons :smile2:

Tightness in AM only?
1bayougirl replied to Boo Boo Kitty's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am definately tighter in the am. My understanding is that as I sleep and my body relaxes the band tightens due to skinkage of the tummy ( & not eating while sleeping). My Dr recommended drinking fluilds in the am to "loosen" up and that helps a lot. I'd rather be too tight then not tight enough. -
Do any of you have trouble with rice and/or sushi?
1bayougirl replied to ShalomToAll's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Rice is noted as a No-No for me do because 1) it swells, 2)it's starch & sticks like pasta. Maybe later when you get closer to your goal, but as for now, take it slow. I have given myself more needless stomache aches! -
So Depressed!! Family trying to prevent my banding!
1bayougirl replied to LynneB's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I wish I was local to help you. I am blessed to have the support of my husband .and 11 year old daughter who was scared of my health after I developed sleep apnea. I sometimes fall asleep with her and she witnessed first hand the lack of breathing one night. My parents are afraid of any surgery, so I just said it was happening. End of story. Sit down, breath deep, and know that you are cared about. My favorate saying when I am ultra stressed is "BE STILL AND KNOW I AM GOD" DO NOT PUT YOURSELF THROUGH ANY EXTRA STRESS WITH YOUR FAMILY UNTIL THE SURGERY IS SET UP. tHEY MAY BE SCARED like my parent were. Like I said earlier, I was only in the hospital overnight ( my own fault- never eat ice after the surgery. I wasn't allowed to drink immediately and was so thirsty that an aid gave me ice chips. I ended up in ICU due to terrible chest pains- all because of the ice) Trust me this surgery is safer then the Phen-Phen I took to loose weight ten years ago.(prolasped heart valve). You do not need to discuss this with your family any further until you are ready for the surgery. You are an adult and may need to remind them later. Most of the Patients at my clinics went home the same day. Do you have a physical job or sit at a desk? It makes a difference as to when you can return to work. This is your body and only you are responsible for it. Do what you must. It took me 3 years, but I would do it all over again. Another thing I recommend is keeping all receipts to any Weight watchers, ect group that you have belonged to. It can cut down on the Insurance time. Keep a food journal that contains time you ate, what you ate, and volume.; as well as any and all exercise. If I didn't have that my insurance would have required 6 months of a nutritionist and an exercise routine. As it was, I did most of my dieting through my birth mother, so the weight watchers and nutrisytem, phen-phen was in her name. Ok, I am rambling. I just want to say so much! -
You can't get your fill yet because of the swelling. You are not wasting your time. It takes time and patience. It is not easy. I didn't loose weight after my first fill, but the second one has a much different feeling. 9 punds in dec is awesome. My dr has told me very firmly that I am only allowed to loose the equivilant of 2 pounds a week. So you are right on target. increase your walking. Feel free to contact me with questions. aknoer@cox.net

try the whey protien by body fortress. It is available from wal-mart for about $15. The texture is thin like chocolate milk- so it is easier to get down. It also contains 46g whey protien, 4 carbs, and is very easy to mix.
-
RESET is more expensive ($30 for the powder) and available at SpRouts and Bashas, also on-line. It TRULY fills you up and tastes great. Anther option is made by Body Fortress (AVAILABLE AT WAL-MART). It has 100% whey Protein , 4 carbs, and 46 g of protien. It tastes like chocolate milk and has about the same consistancy as chocolate milk so mix in a Fiber or something like strawberries. If you like it thicker, blend with ice. I like it, but it doesn't keep me full like the RESET.

So Depressed!! Family trying to prevent my banding!
1bayougirl replied to LynneB's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Take a deep breath and know that you are right. My family (parents and aunts) were against it for me as well. It came down to I want it, I need it, I have the ability (insurance) to do it. I want to live with out hurting, sleep while breathing (i have sleep apnea), and avoid the diabetes that runs in my family. I do not regret it at all and now my family is appreciating that I have done it. One thing you have on your side is your son. At 14 he is old enough to babysit. I stayed overight in the hospital, but friend, Maggi, was home the same day and back at work on Monday. I was lucky enough to have vacation time saved. KEEP your head up! -
