  1. Yep, I am now called every insulting way you can say skinny possible.....why people think it's okay to comment on weight is beyond me!! I mean they would never say, "damn you got fat! Don't gain anymore or you will look ugly..... Oh people...
  2. I had one last night!! they are very good!! I am sooo excited :-)
  3. I am only on chapter 2 but good so far.
  4. I took mine in Kerny Mesa at Positive Choice. But I have gone up to SM to speak twice.
  5. I am also the founder of the Pacific Bariatric FB support group page (that is the medical group that Kaiser outsources to)
  6. It is not. Once you choose your class, it is 6 months once a week and if you are more than I think 10 minutes late you have to make up the class, also if you have more than 2 or 3 absences you have to start over. They want to see you are committed. I know there is a morning class not sure of the time, 4pm, and 7pm. Mine was Thursdays 4pm.
  7. Yeah I was super worried about it, and stressed myself out for a month.....all for nothing. I will tell you I was not happy about the classes, and had an attitude. But they are more valuable than you will ever know!! they were an honest gift, I am so much more knowledgeable about my body and the process because of it and am so thankful for them. Yes it is a huge commitment, but I believe it is why I have been so successful.
  8. Hi, I am 17 months post op, San Diego Kaiser. I am also the founder and admin of the San Diego Kaiser support group page, and often speak in the options classes. Yes Kaiser does require the 6 months of options classes, during the classes they ask that you try and loose %10 of your body weight. The paperwork said they needed documentation of supervised weight loss program, but I was never asked to show prof. Please feel free to ask me any questions and join the FB group. my email is, pinkpolkadot619_rny_kendra@yahoo.com

  10. do you feel getting a trainer helped?
  11. Yes I want to be back on track and feel in control again. I know my body wants to workout I want to get my mind to agree.
  12. It's pretty good. I have only 1 servings not the whole container. My favorite is Artic Zero. both brands need to me microwaved for 20-30 seconds to soften up but very yummy, and are a good alterative to full blown sugar and fat of ice cream.
  13. I am the founder of the San Diego Kaiser and San Diego Pacific Bariatric Facebook pages. I am going to do a get together again soon. I would love for you all to join us!
  14. I am 16 months out, so a lot has happened since surgery lol but I am wonderful! It is a forever change and battle. I have maintained my weight but I do juggle about 5 lbs so I am aware still and try to keep on track as best I can. I know it is easy to slip back in to old habits. right now I am fighting my late night snacking again.
  15. @@LisaCO I'm feeling the same way. I went on liquids for a little while and lost a few lbs, but they came right back. I am now up like 8 pounds and it won't stop. I am trying to not freak out. I know my eating is not perfect but it is also not horrible. I am not working out like I was, so I guess that is why the pounds are coming back. It is so hard to get re motivated to get going. I have perfect weather too, it just needs to be my decision to get out and go. Thank you all for sharing your struggles, knowing I am not alone helps me a lot. I know we all can do this, this can and will be a life long healthy life.
  16. may I ask what shakes and bars you used? I use premier Protein shakes and Quest bars the most. so that would be 132g of protein and 860 with out a meal, does that sound about right?
  17. I am also in San Diego. I would love to meet up with you guys! I go to the Pacific Bariatric support group where I had my surgery.
  18. www.KaysNaturals.com 120 calories 12g Protein crunchy- sweet, savory, lots of choices
  19. I know there are prenatal bariatric Vitamins (at least I have seen them on the Bariatric Advantage website)
  20. I am 15ish months out and have felt like this already. But I know my new normal I want to be a healthy one. So I do look to you further out Vets to know that life can be normal, well a new healthy normal. that it is okay I ate some chips. And that it is okay that I have found a balance and a healthy relationship with carbs. Your normal lives inspire me and help me to know that it is okay to feel normal again. Thank you ALL!!!
  21. I am 14 months out and I am one of those people who have to eat 1,000-1,200 to maintain if I go over I will gain. I am currently trying to loose 5 lbs that I gained over the holidays and I honestly still was keeping below 1,800. It is also very true about the quality of your food. I have been hit in the face with reality that I must keep the carbs down and the quality Protein and veggies up up up!
  22. chicken is the most difficult to digest don't give up on it yet. Maybe later I am beyond picky (I only eat turkey chicken and fish) but in the beginning I made tofu with taco seasoning to taste like chicken. That helped me.
