Anyone from San Antonio or hill country area getting banded ??

I see the surgeon on Monday the doc office said sept 9th but will know for sure Monday . Congrates !! On ur date !!

Don't be ashamed , we r being blessed with a tool to help us . So many of us have tryed on r own and couldn't do by r selfs . This is definitely ain't know easy way out. We r all struggling with our weight . And don't like the fact that we r over weight. But that's why we r here is to lift each other up. Nobody perfect . We r just trying to the same thing . I'm here for support anytime cause honestly I need just as much .

Got my approval today and see the surgeon on Monday ,, start pre op on tues , so congrates to everyone !!

Well got the good news today was approved for my surgery !! I will see the surgeon on Monday and start my pre op on tues . I'm excited and nervous at the same time . Looks like September 9 th will be the day. But I will know for sure on Monday .

Thanks I'm hoping this week I will get an anwser maybe even tommorw, lol got my fingers crossed.i also go thru Aetna signature .

Has any one had there paper work submitted around 31st of July ?? And if so have u gotten an approval ??

Sometimes ur levels drop,, and when they do u start sweating or light headed . You may just want to look in to it .

As anyone had there paper work submitted to their insurance around the august 1 and received and answer yet ??

I called them just for the heck of it and the insurance got the claim but the pre cert,have not recieved it yet so the insurance was gonna call doc office so they can send it to pre cert team, So that's a start I know it was to soon to call but I figured what r they gonna do yell at me , lol . So now maybe things will be on the roll now. Don't fell bad I think there's a bunch of us waitng. My friend got approved and we both got Aetna . So fingers crossed !!

Mine also went on on the 31st so I'm waitng my self good luck to all of you !!!

I got insurance last august , started the process in September ended it in march then I was told I had to have the insurance a full year . They were suppose to submit my paper work today . So I stated a year ago now I'm still waiting. My co working who started after I did got approved yesterday . I feel hopeful but still waiting. No telling how long it will take . I'm just trying to keep my self busy and not think about it all the time . Good luck I hope it's soon for you .

Congratulations and welcome! I know your excited. I haven't lost as much as I'd like to but its only been 4 weeks. I can tell you that I feel so much better already. Keeps us updated and ask all the questions you need to. A lot of support here. Best wishes to you!

Started my journey last September had to do a 6 months of care ,, when that was up in march I had to wait till august for them to even submit it . Well it's 2 weeks away I'm getting a little excited . During my 6 months visit I didn't loose much weight . I've started changing my eating habits and I've lost 20lbs , I'm still over weight but I'm trying to mentally prepare my self for this life style change . I don't know how long it will take the insurance to respond but I'm patiently waiting. I've read a lot of post on here and it's gives me inspiration to keep going . Thanks to all of y'all who post !!! It really makes a difference to us newbie that r still going thru the process. I will keep y'all updated .

What's the difference between lap band and lap band plication ??

My surgery was set for this Friday. Exciting right? I thought so until i got a phone call today advising me of sum $4000+ that i have to come up with before the surgery. 5 mo of co pays, labs, dr visits ,nutritionists, psychiatrists, almost 2 f'in weeks of this stupid liquid diet and for what.. How can they build someone up like this to just crush them? Surgery is canceled and i don't know what to do with myself.

. That's my biggest fear too u ain't the only one . Maybe u can get a care credit card that will pay the difference , I will find out in august rather the insurance will approve the surgery also. I'm worried about all the extra cost to. So in the mean while I've started changing my eating habits in May I've lost 18 lbs so far . I wish u the best good luck !!

It a question , did anyone have a problem coming up with the detectable when it was time for the surgery ?? My biggest fear is not having that detucble at the time of surgery . I work but just don't have that kind of money laying around .

You and I are very close on our stats. When is your surgery? I want to get to 135 minimum. If it goes lower, great. I have an appointment for my 5th monthly weigh in on the 10th of 6 required by my insurance. Almost there. I go from 205-211lbs each weigh-in. I have been told to not lose anything because I am borderline bmi. But after that last weigh in and the insurance approves me I plan to do a two week liquid diet until surgery. I want to kick it off with a few lbs lost pre op at least and get myself used to liquids only. Been saying goodbye to some foods I feel I may miss. Idk they all say you change what you like after surgery. I am so excited though to get started. My friend at work is over 3 months post op now and is down 50lbs. That would make me so happy to be down that much in 3 months. That means by October for Halloween I would be about 150lbs and I can Celebrate by buying a cute costume and feel good in it. I want to work hard and achieve my second mini goal to be at 140lbs or less by January for new years and goal by my birthday in February. But we will see. Everyone is so different. I'm going to follow my plan and see what my body does. I've started going through my massive clothing collection that ranges from size 10 to 16. I've quit smoking. I drink Water and tea all day. I've joined a gym and I am trying to be committed to going but with my schedule it is tough. I work 6-2 /9-5/2-10/12-8/10-6/8-4. You name it. I work it. And it's different every week. I'm a front end manager for my Smiths grocery store. After I lose the weight I think I would like a career change. I feel like it's contributing to my weight gain. All the inconsistent hours. Anyways, sorry for going on and on. Just getting excited. Lol

. I haven't been banded yet but I use to work those crazy shifts in may I was able to work a 6/2 and it's really helped on managing my eating habits , I've lost 13 lbs already so hope it will work for u .

Looks like I'll have to wait until August for them to even submit my paper work to the insurance . They say I have to be health insurance for 12 constitutive months and august will be 12. I was a little bummed out cause they told me June . Oh well I will wait patiently . I've started changing my eating habits and stated walking , well at least I'll be pain free this summer .its really to read about everyone journey on here . Y'all give me a lot of inspiration .
