I just got back from Betancourt Medical in Tijuana, and had a double fill. I had the first one on Saturday and the next one on Monday, and boy is it great. I lost 7 pounds the first week!!! It was the easiest fill I have ever had, and I was treated like a queen for the four days I was there...Its a new procedure they are doing and so far so good.

Hi Missy, Dr. Haucuz did my surgery also, with no problems. Andres has followed me since April, and I have been back 3 times for fills. He has never misrepresented himself to me in anyway. I think Fran has said it all, he (DR.Haucuz) messed up big time and tried to cover it up at her expense, healthwise and financially. I also agree he is a nice person, but I think greed played a big part in this. The more surgeries he could do in a day the more money he makes. When that happens, mistakes are made. My band is place ok, and I have had no problems. I think I said I and now at a weight loss of 116 pounds since April of this year. Andres has helped me by being there and supporting me along the way. I have followed their program to the line, with a few chocolate chip cookies thrown in. I think we all have to take into account that we are all human and mistakes are made. But it seems to me that the bashing that goes on and is fueled by all of us need to quit. I think reading about personal experiences is great and uplifting and also lets us make a sound decision for our selves. This is a great journey, the lap band, and I am so glad I had it placed. I am past all the doctor crap, just because it only matters to me who I see. I only wanted to let people know what I had found out in the beginning so that they could make a well informed decision on their own surgery. This is still me feelings. We all have people we like and dislike, but I think we need to move on and enjoy what is ahead for us, and that is the freedom from fat. I love all of you who have had or are trying to make this move. This is not an easy step to take, and althought it is removable, it is permanent for me. If anyone says we have taken the easy way out, then I will fight with everything I have. As for the Doctors, they are a dime a dozen down there, and research is the only answer for yourself protection. If you choose not to research, then you cannot blame anyone but yourself. I can say I am proud to be banded, and I am proud of the work I have done. The credit goes to Andres and I. Thanks for listening.

LeeLee, I was told along time ago the Dr. Haucuz was not able to use the Inamed band because of some problems. If all he could get was J&J, did it not set off some bells in your head? I think Andres has handled the problems down there very well. This is why there is no Molding Clinic. To many mistakes being made by the Doctor. I was banded in April by Dr. Haucuz, and I have lost 113 pounds with no problems. I would not let the Doctor touch me again after all the problems I have heard and read about. Andres has no control over which bands are used, since he is not the doctor applying them. I believe he was doing the job he was hired for, whatever band the Doctor uses. He has since opened his own clinic and takes very good care of the patients, and their families. Andres has been banded himself, and I think he is just as mad at the past problems as we are. If you have a problem with him, why don't you talk to him. As for your records, they are the property of Dr. Haucuz, not Andres.

I just got back from Tajuana for a Jumpstart fill. Its a new way to get you going when the weight stops coming off. They filled me really good, and I waited 2 days and they did it again, I have already lost another 7 pounds since Friday September 16 until today. I only need to lose 35 more pounds for my body lift.. These guys have been so great to me. I can't believe in April I weighed 351, and now 235....sorry for tooting my own horn, but I love Betancourt Medical and Dr. Lopez, not the other Dr. Lopez and Andres has taken great care of me through out the whole thing..

I also drink a little with my food, little sips. Ihave had no problems.

Gina, whatever..I just want people to do their homework and search to make their decisions, so when things like this happen they can explain what happened to them and let the others deceide. Its so weird, but a lot of us probably would not admit to the wipe thing, but I knew I wasn't the only one. And geez, I swear it happened overnight!!! DVSAboss, you go girl. It won't be long now. I think that is why I liked Mexico, I only had to wait a week, but I needed my dd to go and she had to get time off, so I ended up waiting 3 weeks and found out I had diabetes during that time!!! Its in remission now, but scare the peedle out of me!! You will do so good, you wait.

Far out. I am 5'7" 1/2 and I carry my weight well, so I don't want to look sick, just great!!

I get mass chest pains if I over do it or a pain on the right side of my throat. Then the almighty barf...yuck

Has anyone heard about hot stuff? I was told to avoid anything hot that it can cause..ok don't laugh..the solution in the band to evaporate? Right or Wrong????

The only thing I was told is to move your legs around so you are less likely to get blood clots in your legs. But everyone is suppose to do that. I did stand up once and awhile, it helped to move. You will be fine...

I had mine removed years ago, but I heard rapid weight loss is hard on everything, so it's poop if you do and poop if you don't. I still want to be free from the fat!!!!!!

I know this sounds funny, use the food pyramid and a shot glass. That is what I have been doing, and it works for me. I measure it with the shot glass and I try to do what I can out of the pyramid. I lost a huge amount of weight, and now I am losing normal, about 1-3 pounds a week. I look at pounds of butter so I know that is what is gone off my body. I had surgery on 4/15/05 and I am down 108 pounds.

It took me awhile after I porked on a zillion pounds to figure out how to wipe my butt, My arm was to short!! I hate to admit, my butt was too big. I hate that gas, I would rather have a root canal.
