Yep, normal. Here's the good news. Sticking to my post-op diet faithfully has actually decreased my hunger. I'm taking in about 800-1000 calories per day now, four weeks post-op and on liquids for two more weeks. When I don't have anything caloric between my liquid meals I actually have less hunger overall. When I snack, even Jello, I get hungrier during the day. I had to laugh today because I never in a million years would have thought I'd make it this far on such a restricted diet. My last solid food was 5-1/2 weeks ago! I'm just happy that it does get easier, and soon the band will be filled a little, I'll get solid food, and my band can start to help me lose weight instead of me doing it the white-knuckle way. Hang in there and before you know it you'll be in the next phase. P.S. I'm Catholic, and this was the easiest Lent ever. LOL

pibblemom reacted to LipstickLady in My new favorite food for pureed/soft foods is...
Crustless quiche!
This morning, I used four eggs, 1 cup of skim milk, 1/2 cup 2% cheese, 1/2 cup bacon bits, 1/2 cup chopped onion, salt, pepper and dried mustard powder. Baked in the convection oven at 350 for 35 minutes in a pyrex and it's delicious! It also reheats well, so that's a plus.
I think I might use two whole eggs and 4 egg whites next time to pump up the Protein and I didn't have any spinach or mushrooms to add to it or I would have.
Think of all the possibilities! With the summer veggies coming in, you could add Tomato, zucchini, asparagus...YUM!
What are your favorite quiches? Give me ideas!

One of my fears with this whole thing are my dogs. I thankfully have some amazing girlfriend s through from the shelter I volunteer at and they have already stepped up to help. I do not have children and they r my furry kids. Lol.

pibblemom got a reaction from kimk1999 in Pre Surgery jitters?
Wow. Thank you all for responding. I am relieved to see I am not alone in this as I so very often feel I am. I DO know this is the correct step for me. I just have to remember that and NOT let what the dr gave me to read scare me. Lol. I wonder though if they could triple the anti anxiety pills for me that morning? Lol

I have started to already make changes in preperation for the new eating changes required after banding. It hasn't been easy. I have also joined a gym and am working with a trainer. I am focused. But also scared out of my mind. ESPECIALLY after reading the packet of what will happen during surgery. I would have been better off not knowing!!! My other issue is I often only eat around 600 calories a day because I get so busy I forget to eat. I am working on getting up to 1200 as my doctor and trainer advised.
I am scared of being out of my comfort zone. Is it normal??
