  1. Brandy, I bought a pair of jeans for my first goal size. I currently am in a tight 14, loose 16 so I hit old navy and bought a pair of 10s. Surprisingly I can get them pulled all the way up! So that is my first goal!!

I also bought a pedometer that will connect to my iPhone for tracking my walks and hopefully jog/runs in the future!

I am just so excited for this! I have been making lists off everything I need to do before surgery in my house, items to buy, things to take to the hospital, etc... Only way I get work through my excitement since surgery is still 2 1/2 wks away.

  2. Have PCOS and have hair growth on my chin and a little on the sides (like side burns). Does anyone else have this? Did it improve after surgery?

I hope so because it is getting to be majorly excessive and I tweeze and sometimes shave it because I can't stand it but by the time I am done with my shift at work, I am getting a 5 o'clock shadow! I am hoping it improves because it is majorly embarrassing and I the thought of any man touching my face because of this is horrifying!

  3. So I was looking at surgery the end if March but my work denied my time off because the schedule was out! I am an RN and there are only about 3 others trained to do my job and only 1 of them is almost fully trained to do it 100%!

So a few stressful days waiting for the approval from the insurance company it FINALLY came today! It only took 3 days but felt like forever!!! The surgery scheduler called today and we set it up for April 2nd, that way work will approve it!! Up to this point I have not been nervous at all but now finally am since it is all a go! BUT OVERALL SOOOO EXCITED TO END THIS CHAPTER OF OBESITY AND FEELING DOWN ON MYSELF & TIME TO START A NEW HEALTHIER LIFE!!!

  4. I have never had that done, just the nuclear scan! I have not ever seen an endocronologist either my PCP cares for mine and now the surgeons office has checked it but my levels were ok right now so... I know it is hard because we have to work twice has hard to lose the weight but it comes back 1/2 as easy!

That is another reason I have chose surgery because I know it isn't the cure all, however it is a tool that I can use and follow for the rest of my life to make the necessary changes! I just wish it were here and time! Will relax a little once my insurance approves it!!

  5. I am 33, struggled with weight my entire life. Have yo-yo dieted throughout my teen and adult years and am tired of feeling down about myself!

I am an RN and have two beautiful daughters! I don't want to be an embarrassment for them and I want to live a long life to watch my girls and future grand babies grow up!

My HW was 316, I am currently around 240. My surgery should be within the next month providing my insurance approves it! My sister had a sleeve in August and looks and feels phenomenal!

  6. Hi! I am new to the site! I started my variate is surgery process 6 years ago with the plans to have bypass and again 5 years ago with the same plans but two deaths in my family made me decide that it was a sign! So 6 months ago I started again with the sleeve in mind and everything seems to be falling into place!

My 6 months are up and the info is being submitted to the insurance company hopefully today! My HW was 316. My SW was 278 (I actually lost 20 lbs before I started my 6 months) my CW is around 240. I have always been the famous yoyo dieter and I don't want to do that anymore!

I am an RN and it is difficult to tell my patients what to do to be healthy when I am overweight myself and come from a family who is also overweight!

I can't wait to have surgery and am currently looking at surgery the first week in April providing everything goes as planned!!

  7. I understand! I am a RN and even tho my surgery isn't being done at the hospital I work at, I had most of my testing done there! At first I didn't want anyone to know but as I have gotten farther into the process I don't care.

I have lost quite a bit if weight in the 6 month wait plus lost about 30 lbs before I started! I have some supportive people but many if my coworkers are asking me why I am doing it since I have lost so much weight! I know I am not doing it for them, I am doing it for myself and my girls but it is frustrating!

You just need to remember your reasons for doing it and no matter what you do, there will always be difficult or disapproving people! Those are the people you either cut out of your life or politely listen to and move on! It is your life, weight, health, & so on; therefore it is YOUR decision and yours alone!!
