  1. Puréed shoes may be your problem. Check with your nutritionist.
  2. 11/02/2014 198.8. Onederland, Baby!!!!!!! YAHOO!
  3. I'm so sorry you're feeling this way, but believe me it's from the surgery and it will pass. You're entitled to some tears. Your body and mind have been through quite a lot and it's super stressful. Stay connected here and get some rest. Congratulations on your surgery!
  4. Arlene, I'm laughing at work right now. Thanks for that!
  5. Kitt, I slept fine. Had a Quest Bar this morning. We have chili day at work today but I need to take my lunch hour in my car again to talk to my attorney. I'm going to eat first. It will be another stressful talk. Chili should be okay especially if I get it in me before the call. I've looked forward to Halloween all week and have an outing with friends tonight in costume. I'm having fun if it kills me.
  6. In the immortal words of Pink, I have had a $#!+ day. I woke up fine. I was really fine. I almost even weighed myself because I know I've lost weight this week, but I'll wait until Sunday. Yesterday was emotionally difficult, but I got a good night's sleep and woke up ok. Really ok. I packed my fasting day lunch. Buddig lean beef, 2 packets, and several wedges of Laughing Cow cheese. I was happy to have such a Protein dense lunch planned. And then. On my lunch break I had to take care of some divorce details on the phone before I ate. I was in my car for privacy and got very upset with what's been happening. No need for details. Anyone who has filed for divorce from an uncooperative spouse knows the deal. Anyway, I took a few deep breaths, and had ten minutes left to eat my healthy lunch in my car. Can't have divorce phone calls in a cube farm. I took two bites of the beef and a bite of the cheese and got stuck immediately. I was so upset. I chewed pretty well, but not well enough. Well, this was the first time I ever slimed so bad that I was sweating and drooling. I had paper napkins but got some on my coat. Great. Now I'm crying and still sliming. I went back into the building and made it to the bathroom and up came my three $#!++¥ bites of lunch. Three little bites and now lunch is over and I have no nutrition in me and my eyes are puffy and my nose is snotty and my NEW coat is slimy and I'm still nauseated and I have to go into a meeting and it's a friggin fasting day and I was so psyched for it. So. I went into my meeting while my stomach settled. Thank God I had U njury packets in my desk. I mixed two of them in a Water bottle with six ounces of water and shook it up. The friggin water bottle leaked at the cap and sprayed chocolate Protein shake all over my keyboard. Sticky. $#!+ day? $#!+ day. After a coworker walked by and helpfully said, "Oops!" to my mishap and miraculously didn't get murdered for it, I drank the double thick shake. It stayed down. Thank God. 200 calories instead of my planned lunch of 500, but it was something. Anyway, there's more crap, but the bottom line is that I survived it. I'm not hungry. More worn out. I sure wasn't prepared to battle my band the same day as my to-be-ex. But it's not the first time stress has practically closed up my banded stomach. I need to be proactive on stressful days and stick to shakes. I have GOT to remember this. And fasting days are always tighter too. Ironically, I was wondering this week if I should get another tiny fill. Hell no. Thank you for listening. PS: I still believe in 5:2 and am very happy with my results on it. I just really need to listen to my band. PPS: My hunger is returning. I'm going to have a small mushy dinner.
  7. Yeah, Sister! Love the camo. I feel like even though I never got a tat, I've been inked by God. Being a biker chick, you must have some challenges keeping the sun off your skin. I can live with the blotchy hands, but I really make sure I use sunscreen faithfully on my face to avoid the dark contrast.
  8. Sold at the dermatologist's office.
  9. Doctor's Remedy is what she recommended. So I'm trying it now. We will see. She also said the adhesives in artificial nails is an allergen. But I just use polish.
  10. So I recently got my first manicure in, like, 20 years. I decided to do something pampering for myself that didn't involve eating or buying clothes. I don't like to draw attention to my hands because I have vitiligo, which is a loss of pigment, and my hands are quite blotchy. But I did the manicure anyway. I started getting compliments on my nails from coworkers and friends. So I've been polishing them regularly myself now. Feeling all girly for the first time in ages. So of course I develop a new skin problem. Why not. Flaky, dry, red, burning eyelids. Day after day after day. I google this. The apparent diagnosis says get to the eye doctor. So I go to the eye doctor and he says nope, your eyes are fine. Get to the dermatologist. So today I see my dermatologist. She hasn't seen me since oh, about sixty pounds ago. She asks how much I've lost. I tell her 101 pounds. Congrats and compliments ensue. Very nice. So, Doc, what's going on? Did I develop yet another autoimmune disorder to add to my arthritis and vitiligo? My stress levels have been through the roof over the last four months. I filled her in on my crazy life situation. Oh, no. It's your nail polish. What? Yes, you have contact dermatitis of the eyelids and almost all of the cases I see are an allergic reaction to nail polish or artificial nails. I'M ALLERGIC TO MY ONE CALORIE FREE AFFORDABLE LUXURY?! Yes, yes I am. Fortunately, there's a doctor approved polish I can use. Pricey, but not as pricey as a weekly foot massage. So that is my rant for the day.
  11. Your life is about to change for the better in so many ways. All of these things that we endured for so many years are about to be a thing of the past. Stay strong. Wonderful times ahead!
  12. Favorite? Lobster. Not often though.
  13. Just saw this and don't have time to type much right now, but YES this is normal and you are worth this life changing surgery. Doubts are healthy. Research is key. Get yourself to hospital support groups for WLS patients. They are free and you don't even have to be a patient. I go to three different hospitals' groups. I started going pre surgery. Good luck and stay connected here. This site is a godsend.
  14. Chew chew chew chew chew. But also cut up the food vvveeeerrrryyy small. Sounds insane but it works. I slowly made it through most of a pork chop yesterday and was fully satisfied. Good luck !!
  15. @@ready2B your post sounds like me. I've said often that I once lost 130 pounds and got down to 156 and a size ten. It was the best 20 minutes of my life.
  16. Debbie, you're gorgeous! Congratulations on your success. You're very inspiring to me!!!
  17. Tiffany, I am hoping for the best. Don't ever give up. Our health is worth it. I hope they fix whatever's wrong quickly and easily.
  18. Hurray!!!! I'm so happy to read this!!! Celebrate!
  19. I tried the double chocolate today and it was okay, but I've been off sweets for so long it was kind of too much. Did I say that!?
  20. A few Banders never need a fill. Talk to your doctor and be observant about your eating patterns.
  21. You sound too tight. My fills were small leading up to green and I still have to chew well and eat slowly or I get stuck. But when I chew well and eat slowly I can eat solid foods just fine. Good luck.
  22. Ouch. Can you stock your desk with Quest bars and protein shakes and then set your cell phone alarm and force yourself to stop for fifteen minutes? Please don't run yourself down. We need to make our health a priority. Good luck! I hope you're fully staffed soon!
