MAJORLY UPSET WITH UNJURY COMPANY
If you have a dispute you should go through your bank that issued your credit or debit card. Call them and they can immediately give you provisional credit until the dispute is resolved. The merchant can only move as quickly as their system will allow, which is why it takes days for them to credit you.

HA! You can have the fat clothes back!?
Boundaries much!?! What the hell is wrong with those people? Teachers, yet. I'm picturing the loudspeaker calling you to weigh in during your class in earshot of your students. Good God. Silence and living well. That is all.

Post Op Pain
It should get better, not worse, with passing days. If not, call the doc.

I just love this thread.

What am I doing?
Normal. But to make it easier, today find one non-food thing that comforts you and do it. Like a bubble bath or a manicure or a hair salon appointment or a foot massage or a night at the movies (no popcorn). Do it. You'll need non-food comforts after surgery so may as well start now.

Starting 5:2 and no scale this week
Ten degrees in Chicago. Had the last of the homemade lentil soup for breakfast. Yum. Must get this recipe from my neighbor.

Pre op diet!
"Last supper" was too many servings of fish fry for me. Wasn't worth the indigestion. But the instinct is normal. Pre op clear liquids was tough. Glad it was only five days. I also lost 13 pounds that week.

16 months post op and buckling down!
Thanks, your post is inspiring. I'm 8 months out now and I want to keep my momentum going. My weight loss has slowed but I know exactly what I need to do to kick it up, which is exercise. It got so darned cold here in Chicago so fast and I'm not so eager to walk in the freezing cold. I'm happy to see you are committing to yourself. You got this!

First Fill Excitement
Good luck and be patient. It took me four fills from May to September but I'm in the green now and it's wonderful.

Got Your Guard Up for Holiday Season?
Amazingly, I have no fear or anxiety about Thanksgiving this year. Last year preparing for surgery, the thought of not binging on Thanksgivings after surgery gave me such sadness. This year I am banded and in my green zone. I'm looking forward to all the special foods I make only at holidays, and I know I'll have small portions and stop when I am no longer hungry. Good article. I will definitely have a plan, and some changes I am making include more healthful choices at the table. But the gift of my band is that I will truly be able to enjoy the meal without overdoing it. Thankful? You bet!

Caffeine and Weight Loss Surgery: Not a Good Partnership
I haven't taken a Prevacid in many months. Weight loss seems to have cured my heartburn/reflux. I'm a bander.

Starting 5:2 and no scale this week
Or during lunch. I was occasionally walking around the neighborhood where I work during the autumn weeks. If I could find an indoor place close enough maybe that would work. Before work ain't gonna happen. I know me too well. Lol.

Law school final 3 day pre-op... Possible?
One more note and then I'll shut up, but you did ask so here goes. I was one of those people that had surgery on Thursday and went to work on Monday. I was absolutely fine. However, you cannot predict if you will have an easy breezy surgery. If part of your concern is to not let down the group, then I think you are willingly going into an uncertain situation where you may actually have to cancel on them. If that is truly a concern of yours, then choose the later surgery date. Good luck either way. And I truly hope for the best for you. As I said, mine was a breeze. Hoping yours is the same!

Law school final 3 day pre-op... Possible?
Sounds too iffy to me. I would take the date a few weeks later because you cannot predict how you will feel after being cut open. Three days later an 80 mile car ride and a stressful mock trial? No way. You put this surgery a couple weeks later and you have no unnecessary stress. I cannot emphasize this enough: this is major surgery. It sounds minor. It is not. Good luck and take care of your body.

Starting 5:2 and no scale this week
198.0. Down 0.6 this week. Time to step up the exercise. Going out today with friends to walk in nature. It's cold here and lightly snowing but I'm putting on my boots and gloves and doing it. I want to walk more. I get cold and "don't wanna" so I've been slack about it. My food is pretty much where I want it to be, so if this weight is going to drop more, I need to move more. I've been really busy with evening commitments and I'm pretty tight on funds right now, so I can't afford a gym. I think just maybe I'll try walking in a mall and see if that's something I can do a few evenings a week. I must be crazy thinking of malls during the holidays. Ironically, I HATE shopping. Well, for now it's just an idea. Happy Sunday, everyone.
