  1. Jfc, happy birthday!!
  2. My day went very well. Got a mile walk in on my lunch hour and a bit more in the evening, and I've made my six mile challenge for the week! I won't be able to walk at lunch tomorrow since I'm at another location for the day. But maybe in the evening at home. food was on plan all the way. I've never eaten saganaki without bread before, but I didn't miss it at all. Had the cheese, salad and Soup and stopped! This band is a godsend! Feeling skinneeee tonight. Lol. Oh, got my stairs in too. I'll have to get creative tomorrow since I'm not at my usual office. I'll bring Buddig beef with me and maybe some cheese as well. I wish I'd planned ahead and had some nuts or Protein bars at home to put in my bag. I should be able to duck out for half an hour so if I can, I will get some chicken tenders from Popeyes for lunch. Breakfast will be sausage links. dinner will be braciole with no Pasta and a kale salad. I'll check in tomorrow as I can.
  3. I'm back to my lowest weight post op this morning. Some things I've noticed... Not tracking my food is a mixed bag. When I'm following my food plan it's great because if I'm satisfied on a smaller amount of food than I had planned out, somehow it's easier for me to stop eating and give the remainder to the dog or toss it out. When I'm tracking I tend to finish it all because it's been measured out and recorded. Also, having a snack when truly needed (like nuts midday) is easy and not stressful. However, if I'm not following my food plan, not tracking becomes an excuse to ignore reality. One bad choice after another, and it's easier to lie to myself. My surgiversary is Friday. I'm so excited to be back on track and feeling positive this week. I know I'll get to my goal weight. 49.6 pounds to go. This is gonna happen!
  4. Plan for today: protein for breakfast will be sausage links. Lunch is going to be a cheese stick, Buddig beef and peanuts. Dinner out with my daughter at a favorite Greek restaurant. I commit to saganaki with no bread, a Greek salad and a bowl of soup. No cocktail. I will walk the stairs at work and get outside at lunch for a long walk. It's supposed to be 60 degrees today!
  5. Julie, congratulations! Panni or tummy tuck?
  6. food on target today! Unwich was delish and just enough. Got my walking in and my stairs in. Already have 4.75 of my 6 challenge miles for the week. Feels so GOOD to be back in control. Bacon, sorry about the accident. I hope you and your colleagues are okay. S_suther, praying for you and your home decisions. I'm looking for a new home as well, but I'm not ready to buy yet until the divorce is final. My therapist suggested tonight that I not rule out a condo. So that just opened up some more possibilities for me. Had an epiphany yesterday and today. This renewed vigor of mine came just as I was able to slide back into Mommy mode for my eldest daughter. As I mentioned, her laptop died and out came my credit card and off we went to several stores to get her back in business. My younger daughter called from Spain, and we had a long talk about her upcoming travels, and she asked my opinion on a few things. They both needed me this week. It's been a long several months without them under my roof and I miss them terribly. My therapist noted that it's no wonder I was floating and floundering recently, since my identities as both a wife and a mother were shaken up at the same time. Empty nest while going through a divorce while ALSO going back to my mother's house and dealing with her never ending control issues. No wonder I was stalled and feeling ungrounded. Anyway, my eldest goes back to school in a few days and my youngest is gone until May. So I need a plan for the return of the empty nest so that I don't go back to floating and floundering. I've said it before: so much of this weight loss battle is fought between the ears.
  7. For me I recently got honest with myself about my five month weight loss slump. I was enjoying weekly cocktails with friends and sometimes an evening glass of wine during the week. I also added more carbs into my diet. Finally, I was eating a bucket of buttered popcorn at the movies every week. I just became willing to change these habits last week. It's hard but i want to lose my last fifty pounds. I've started walking again on my lunch hour, and cleaned up my food by replacing carbs with Protein. It feels good. It's only been a few days, but I know the weight will come off if I do the work. Good luck.
  8. Second day walking at lunch and I went a little farther today. 2.75 miles. Kept to my food plan yesterday and on track today. It feels good to have my mental energy back.
  9. 2.75 mile walk at lunch. Breakfast and lunch were all protein. Planning a Jimmy John's Unwich for supper.
  10. Finished Monday on plan. Feeling great.
  11. I've been in a slump lately. No weight loss in five months. Today I got my butt outside and walked two miles on my lunch break. My Breakfast and lunch were Protein and no junk. dinner will be protein, salad and Soup. I'm feeling energized and today I believe I can break this slump and get to my goal. Next week is my 1st surgiversary. I've come so far and am already reaping countless benefits of dropping 100 pounds. I have fifty left to lose. I'm not stopping now! I've never achieved a goal weight before. This year with my LapBand I will. Who's with me? Ready to kick it into high gear and get this done?
  12. Sorry it was a bummer experience but yay for you for taking charge and getting one anyway. No way are you going to stay out of that hot tub after all your hard work!! Congrats on your weight loss!
  13. Nothing small about that NSV! Congratulations !!!!
  14. I think you look great and that's not bs. Cute suit too. Now I'm tempted to go find one without a skirt.
  15. Don't overthink it. Just try it. I tried yoga as an obese person and survived. My knees cracked loudly but nobody cared but me. I also tried Zumba. Knees didn't like it but again, nobody cared but me.
  16. I just walked slightly over 2 miles on my lunch hour. Walking a 5k will be a breeze. I didn't realize a 5k was 3.1 miles. My knees won't let me jog, but I can walk. Yay!!
  17. I'm referring to notifications in the iphone app
  18. @@Alex Brecher, Over the weekend notifications stopped coming. I follow lots of threads but am not getting any notifications except for one or two that say I was quoted. That seems to be a new type of notification. It looks like "liked" works too but nothing when others add to a thread.
  19. Fired up today. Walking the stairs at work. On lunch break I'll walk the neighborhood around my office since it's finally warm here. Breakfast was sausage and bacon. Lunch will be a cheese stick and a package of Buddig beef and some peanuts. dinner will be Olive Garden as mentioned. I can do this!!
  20. @@bacon, I added an extra mile to my walking today. One down and five more to go for the week! My food was pretty good but I got yelled at by both of my daughters. After church we had lunch in a restaurant and I had a bowl of Soup and ate the chicken and hard boiled eggs out of a salad. Then I took the rest home because I'd had enough. So far, so good. Then my daughter and I shopped for her laptop and a few other items and then I came home with the overwhelming desire to fry up a dessert for everybody. I did, and had three or four of these tasty little things myself. Not a great choice but not the end of the world. Probably about 400 calories at the most. Then I had a kale salad. A few hours later I was hungry again and had another kale salad. Then I walked my extra mile for the day and here I am now. The yelling came long distance from my daughter in Madrid after I bragged about the delicious dessert I fried up. "Mom, why would you cook something like that after all the work and progress you've made? Nobody needs that stuff in the house." Then my older daughter chimed in (love group texting, don't you?) saying "Yeah, you shouldn't have made them. I didn't ask for them." So anyway, they are both right. I'm done eating the treats. They came out wonderful but I don't need them. I was proud of how they turned out and I had a few, but that kind of food will derail my weight loss. So I'm done. My younger daughter suggested that I research healthy recipes and make those kinds of foods when I get the urge to cook or bake. True. Anyway, my weight was up this morning when I woke up. It was very discouraging, especially since I had no alcohol this week and haven't gone to the movies to eat. However, the old body here is hanging on to the fat, and it's not going to let go until I up my exercise. So @@bacon's challenge came just in time. I'm going to push that extra mile each day. It's not that hard because I was a sedentary slug, so every extra bit helps. As for the 5k, I'm starting to believe it is doable. My knee pain was gone today like a miracle when the steroid shots kicked in finally. I walked the dog around the neighborhood and felt really good. My mini goal this week is to get back down to 195 by next Sunday. I'm going to walk an extra mile each day and stay away from alcohol and sweets and movie crapcorn. My daughter is in town until next weekend, and I'm taking her and her cousins out to Olive Garden Monday for dinner. I will have soup and salad and a meatball and NO breadsticks. I'm very happy to have this thread for daily check in. Thank you all. How did everyone do?
  21. . When it's at 7, how well did you get down food Food is always able to go down. My only stuck episodes were with dry pork or other meats that I didn't chew thoroughly or ate too fast.
  22. Great interview ! Thanks for all you do!
