  1. I have Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama and once it was submitted it only took one week! Good Luck!
  2. So today is day 1 on my 10 day liquid diet. I have been awesome today with it! I have no hunger pains or headaches and have not been tortured with people eating around me. Now I have been VERY busy today and that might be part of it! I think I might have problems tonight when I get home and want to snack but I have my popsicles ready! I'm ready to start this and can not wait for 04/14/2014 to get here!
  3. My surgery is in two weeks and I went today for an EKG, chest xray, abd ultrasound, barium swallow test, and lab work. I had the H. Pylori test in office with my last consult. I do not have anything else to do except start the liquid diet on Friday and do it for 10 days.
  4. I did not meet with any of my surgery team today. I had to have all my lab work, chest xrays, EKG, abd ultrasound, and a barium swallow test done today. I also had all my paperwork done and preregister. I have it all done now! Now to start my liquid diet on Friday and surgery in 2 weeks!
  5. Sitting in the hospital now. Been having test all morning and still going! Happy to have my dear hubby next to me and I'm feeling all kinds of feelings!
  6. I only taking off 2 weeks. I am taking FMLA for the 2 weeks though. Really only because I do not have enough sick and vacation time saved up for it. I am a nurse but do not lift people so my doctor said 2 weeks would be o.k. I was the one really wanting to go after just 2 weeks.
  7. I start my liquid diet on Friday!! We have the same surgery date though! I can not wait until the 14th! I just left Wal-Mart with all my liquid diet I could find. My doctor only requires a 10 day diet so Friday will be the big day!!!
  8. Congrats!!! My surgery is April 14th and I'm so excited about it I start my 10 day liquid diet on April 4th and I'm even excited about that. I might not be after 2 days of absolutly nothing to chew but I am so ready to have a slimmer, more healthy body and more energy!
  9. Congrats!!!! That is exciting news! I will have my VSG on April 14th and can not wait!
  10. I start my Liquid diet on Friday April 4th. I can have up to 3 protein shakes a day, 1 cup of milk, all the broth and sugar free clears I want, and only cramed soup (strained). That is it! I wish they would let me much on some raw veggies. I just can't wrap my head around not chewing anything for the 6 weeks (pre op and post op). My teeth are going to go into shock! lol
  11. Congrats!! It is exciting! I was approved 2 weeks ago and received my date Tuesday! I'm being sleeved on April 14th!!! Exciting times!!!
  12. Congrats on your success!!! Keep it up
  13. I started last week trying to elimanate caffeine from my diet and adding the 64 oz of Water that I will be required to get in after surgery. I have had a caffeine headache almost everyday. (I'm addicted to caramel frappes and NOS energy drinks) I have one week without them now and I do still get a headache at times but not as bad now. I really could use one right this minute though, this is always in my head. It doesn't help that my hubby loves them too! lol I have been taste testing Protein shakes and have one now in place of b'fast now. I really do like the chocolate Ensure High Protein Shakes. I too am still worried about nothing but liquids for the next month! 10 day liquid diet, then 3 days of clears, then 2 weeks of full liquids post op......scarry!
  14. Yes, I am very excited and nervous! I'm only nervous with the unknown of afterwards not the actually surgery. Might sound silly, I do have a great confindence though that I can and will do this and be successful! How are you doing and what are you doing to prepare for afterwards?
  15. You so have this!! I understand though, I received my surgery date yesterday for 04/14/14! I am nervous and excited!
  16. I saw the doctor and received my date! I am set up for pre op labs and xrays on Monday March 31st and then I will start my 10 day liquid diet on Friday April 4th and then have surgery on Monday April 14th!!!
  17. Congrats!!!! I know the excitement of the approval but not the date yet! Praying I get my date tomorrow when I see the surgeon! Many prayers your way.
  18. I have an appointment tomorrow with my surgeon! I am very excited. I received my acceptance letter 2 weeks ago and went to the nutrition/fitness class last week. Hopeful that I will receive my date tomorrow!! I have been on and off this wagon for over 10 years and been denied twice! So grateful to have my acceptance letter this time!
  19. I started my six month journey last year and it ended on Feb 12, 2014. We got everything gathered and sent out and was approved within one week. I had my nutrition class last week and have an appt to see the surgeon this coming Tuesday to hopefully get my surgery date! I am also battling infertilty yet again with my Dx of PCOS, so this is one of the main reasons I have decided to be sleeved. I applied once before 10 years ago while trying to conceive my daughter for 4 years, but was denied. I'm very excited to get this chance to get a better, more healthier life and to possible conceive the son I have wanted for years.
  20. I haven't had the surgery yet, still waiting on my date. I do have PCOS and this is the main reason why I chose WLS. I do have three girls but have battled infertility for years and spent thousands of dollars to have them. We were currently trying for a son when I have just had enough with my PCOS infertility. I sure hope not only to lose a lot of weight, I am praying for my son! I also want to not become a diabetic and have heart dz. Praying for the best results possible!
  21. I had to have a six month, 180 days total, doctor supervised diet plan. It was not waived and if I missed a weigh in one month then it would have to be restarted. I had the 5 years of documented weights as well as three letters from three different doctors recommending it and I still had to meet all the insurance requirements. I have state issued BCBS insurance. Once I did it though I had my approval within one week.
  22. I will have a 10 day full liquid diet and 3 days before surgery it will be only clear liquids. They told me it was to shrink my liver so my stomach would be more visiable.
  23. I get my date in two weeks but they said the 1st or 2nd week in April! I'm really excited about it! We weigh the same, cool, I'm a nurse, 32 years old with 3 girls. I can not wait to have the energy to play and keep up with them. My oldest is 6 and youngest is 3.
  24. My OB/GYN office charged me(for c-section), my Reproductive doctor did not(tube surgery), I don't know about the surgical office yet(gastic sleeve). Still waiting on my date.
  25. I just got approval from my insurance, which is BCBS (state), I finished my 6 month diet and had the records sent to my surgeons office and I received a call from them 5 days later and said I was approved! I have an appt set up for Thursday to learn nutrition and said I should be good to go around the 1st week of April. I have my fingers crossed!
