  1. Hi 👋🏽 before surgery I weighed 305 lbs , I wore a size 22/24 and I'm 5ft 7in. Today, two years after gastric bypass surgery I'm 175 lbs, I'm still 5ft 7in tall, but I wear a size 10 now and I feel 👍 my only issue now is the sagging crepey skin hanging from my thighs and arms ucky really grosses me out 🤢 But I can't afford cosmetic surgery so I have to improvise by covering up all the time

  2. Hi Waneta35, I have several before and after pics on my profile page. I'm grateful for the surgery and I am celebrating the results thus far, but I do not wish to see them on this page. I never want to go back there and while for some seeing reminders of where they came from keeps them focused on moving forward....that does not work for me. so this is my celebration page where I focus on moving forward instead of looking back.....

  3. :D Wow! I am excited, elated, and obliviously happy about my decision to have weight loss surgery! When I look at photos of me before and after surgery my first instinct is to praise God for the doctors who did the surgery and the nurses, heck all of the employees working in that hospital who made my surgery uneventful and ensured my speedy recovery! Next I get overwhelmed with emotion that ranges from crying and then laughing because after 20 years of being obese and unhealthy I am now healthy and a few pounds away from my goal weight. I am grateful for the support and information I get from all of you here and I thank my god that even though we are millions of miles aprat I consider all of you my family. To anyone reading this who is feeling unsure or afraid my wish for you is that you will not give up because you will love the new you just as much as I love the new me!!! I am walking fiv emiles every day and I can mop my floors withour any back pain or being overcome with shortness of breath. I am off of my blood pressure meds as they were causing my blood pressure to drop too low, my HC1 test is now ata normal range as I can no longer tolerate anything sweet, no articifical sweetners for me I only use blue guava Syrup (10 calories per teaspoon) when I need to sweeten a drink or my hot Cereal in the morning. Life is good for me and my family now as I am more active with my grands and great grands now that I am healthier. I pray that everyone experiences the same results or even better ones as you journey on the road to a healthier, happier you. God Bless :)

  4. Congrats mrsglomartin!! You're doing amazing I'm so happy to hear how much your life has changed for the better ! Keep up the good work I started at 274 pounds and right now I'm 200 pounds. I've been stalled for a few weeks this always happens and the stalls are getting even longer. I take my Protein everyday and I drink lots of Water I also go running.. I'm just a slow loser I guess lol What Multivitamin do you use ? Right now I'm taking prenatal Vitamins and I'm not sure if that is a great idea

Thanks Bri, I'm still taking the Fintstones vitamins but I had problems with the chewable ones so my doctor allowed me to switch to the Flintstones gummies. I was stalled for three weeks and I am sure I will experience other stalls as my body continues to adjust and adapt to my new lifestyle, but overall I am pleased with my results so far. I no longer eat anything made with white flour and I have also cut out processed foods. I also accept that if I want to continue to lose weight I may have to add to my workout because I will be only doing enough to maintain my current weight. I need to lose 60 more pounds to be at the ideal weight for my height of 5ft 7in which is 140 lbs. I would talk to my surgeon to ask if the prenatal vitamins are okay. Are you pregnant? they might be okay because you are getting all of the important minerals and nutrients I'm just not sure if they are good after surgery. Have a great day, God Bless.

  5. How are all of you doing now ?

Hi BriWLS, I'm doing great???? I've lost 100 lbs and I'm walking five miles every day. I just went clothes shopping and I'm down from a size 24 to a 14 or 12 depending on the cut. It's an awesome feeling!! I still can only eat 3 oz of food at a time but I make sure to get my Protein in every morning and I drink plenty of Water and hot or iced tea. I use blue guava nectar to sweeten everything as I can't tolerate anything sweet since the surgery. Hope you are doing well too.

  6. Hello James, thanks for your kind words. It is amazing to see the results of the surgery and my determination to live a healthy lifestyle pay off in such a way. All of the pain and struggles with staying focused are gone and in there place is this passion and zest to just be healthy for the rest of my life. I'm smiling all over now and cannot believe how obese I once was ???????????????????? I'm In Love With The New Me!!!

  7. Hello Everyone!!!

It's been a while since I posted anything but life has been great and on Friday at my doctor's appointment I got weighed and I have lost 102 lbs since my surgery on April 21st. On April 21st I weighed 285 lbs, today I weigh 185.6 lbs and I wear a size 14!!! I am very busy with school and working full-time and I'm only 12 credits away from receiving my bachelors degree in psychology. Life is definitely better when you subscribe to living a healthy lifestyle which includes exercising daily, eating clean, healthy food, getting your required amount of Protein, and drinking pleanty of good old Water. I walk five miles everyday and do strength training which includes sparring and yoga three times a week. I look good, feel good and I am grateful that I had all of you guys to give me encouragement that I could do this. I'll try to check in more often but to be honest I have so much energy now that doing anything that requires me to sit still is not an option. So for those of you who are still waiting for your surgery dates or to get approved for the surgery, be patient and don't give up; it is well worth the wait to live a happy and healthy life, God Bless You All!!!

  8. Pre surgery I was addicted to sugary, sweet foods and fatty, salty foods. Eight weeks post op I can no longer tolerate anything sweet or fatty. I no longer crave sweets, potatoe chips, or fried chicken wings. The smell of any food frying in grease makes me nauseous. I've lost 55 lbs since my surgery April 21st and I work out everyday and eat three meals and two light Snacks per day along with my Protein Drink. I still struggle with whey Protein but I tolerate it because it helps me meet my quota every day. I feel great and I'm grateful that I had Bariatric surgery. At my highest weight I was 322 lbs in December 2013. I weighed 285 on the day of surgery, today I weigh 225 lbs. good luck to you on your journey, you too will reap the benefits lbs of WLS and Celebrate the happier, healthier you!!!

  9. Btw, the drain hurts when it is being pulled out but it's just a brief tugging sensation as it's being pulled out of the incision. After it's out you should only feel soreness that does not last long. I pray that this helps take away some of your anxiety. You must remember you are only one week and your insides need time to heal. I promise you you'll be feeling much better soon.

  10. Hi, I'm so sorry to hear that you are struggling with this but trust me, it gets better as time goes on. I'm seven weeks post op and I still have occasional bouts of diarrhea so depending on how your body heals this may be normal. As far as the nausea and not being able to tolerate the Protein Drink, this too is normal. I can't tolerate any of them and I get my Protein now from what I eat (Greek yogurt, poultry, Beans, cottage cheese, fish). The pain will pass as you become more active but don't push yourself until the tiredness passes which happened for me around week four. Just try to walk around your house even if it's only going up and down the stairs. I pray that you will begin to feel better soon. God Bless.

  11. Recovering now from home and doing much better. Have to slowly work food and drink back in. Unfortunately this sets me back in recovery but just have to realize I'm going to have to go a little slower than normal patients with this. My body has been sick for so long that I didn't think I would get this bad again after surgery. A little set back but hopefully it's behind me. Will be going to see the surgeons next month. Keeping focus on the goal ahead!

Congrats MommaD88! In no time you'll be feeling better and seeing a difference in the way you feel (energy levels will increase significantly) and the way you look as the pounds being to fade away. Don't stress over the bumps in the road they are to be expected. I'm rooting for you on the sidelines!!! Go Gettum You Can Do This!!!
