Love my stevia. I asked the nutritionist about it for after surgery...her reply....what's that?
LOL , nevermind. I will do it on my own.

I to am a vegetarian. I was banded three weeks ago and am just starting to get on "solid foods". I agree with you, the thought of never eating asparagus was quite depressing as I love it. My doc said I could try it soon and see how I do. No issues with anything thus far. Chickpeas, veggie sloppy joe, veggie spaghetti sauce with spaghetti squash.... all did well. I will keep you posted.

Not sure if anywhere else has these, or just in NJ, but they have parking spots ( mind you that is at least 10 less handicapped spaces for those that need it) for women that are pregnant or with small children. Since when is that necessary? Our mothers, grandmothers, great grandmothers probably even walked to the store while pregnant and now they need special spaces? Pleeeeease

I agree , sick of all of them.

They also have some really good prepared tofu that is baked if you are in a rush.

Thanks for the reply. Quinoa, a grain, has all 23 amino acids and is the only complete grain Protein source that I know of.
I do try to eat a little fish once in awhile. I may have to up that a few weeks after surgery to please my doctor. We shall see how it goes.
Thanks again

That's good to hear. The though tof never having a salad or raw veggie was a little hard to take.
When the "nutritionist" was talking about stage 2-3, she kept saying chicken salad, tuna salad, beef chili...... I reminded her again I was a vegetarian. She didn't even know what stevia was.
I really appreciate the input. It makes it easier to adjust.

:whoo:Hi Everyone,
Has anyone that is a vegetarian had the surgery? My surgery is a week away and the nutritionists at my doctors office is less than educated about it. I know more than she does.
Just curious what you ate during each phase that went down ok.
Thanks

Hi Everyone,
My name is Barbara and I live in NJ. My sirgery date will be next week, Sept 7th. After struggling many years, especially due to health isseus and several years on high dose Prednisone to stay alive due to autoimmune diseases, my weight soared, and I am now taking my life back.
I have lost weight prior to surgery and continue to lose but am really looking forward to stable weight loss with the lapband. . Now is my time.
I have 7 autoimmune diseases and founded a non profit organization to help people like me about 2 1/2 years ago. My whole life revolves around helping others and now is the time to take care of myself. I look forward to hearing everyone's stories. If I can ever help just yell.

PS..... Any Vegetarians have the surgery? I ask because eating as a vegetarian after surgery will be different than it is now.

Good Morning everyone,
My surgery date is set for Sept 7 for LapBand. The nutritionist at my surgeons office is less than helpful. I know more than she does. My question is, has anyone who is a vegetarian had the surgery? What did you eat after? Everything says chicken, ground beef, etc. I have been a vegetarian for 9 years and won't give that up.
Looking for ideas.
Thanks
