  1. LoL! I also refused to buy bigger clothes to fit my scarily increasing size. I also refused to wear anything that didn't have an elastic waist. I even continued to wear my maternity pant... 3 years after having my son! It worked but it kinda sucks I cant see my progress by needing smaller sizes. Now I just fit the same clothes I wore before better lol. At least I havnt had to spend a fortune!
  2. I apologize for being late with the info, I ended up overdoing it exercising and injured myself so wasn't able to exercise untill recently to test this out. But im back at it this weekend and I tried the suggestion out twice (yesterday and today) and both times worked! I didnt eat the suggestion since i just cant tolerate either, but instead i ate a carb/protein prior to my workouts, and when I went to eat later my restriction was it's usual wonderful self
  3. It's stomach spasms, I still get them almost a year out (usually after a bout of the flu) and mine go up the esophagus... not fun. I find it happens when the stomach is irritated (not chewing food, eating too fast, spice, hot fluid, too cold fluid, throwing up, gastritis etc..). Slow down, baby your tummy. If you find that it continues no matter how nice you are to your tummy (I had that issue), ask your doctor for nitro for the attacks. It helps alot.
  4. Ugh, I honestly just take it when I can remember. My 3yo son has to take a liquid ranitidine because he has GERD. His is horrible tasting and he refused to take it till he noticed his and mine come in the same type bottle. Now he urges me to take the "icky" meds. I think I'd forget if not for that lol
  5. I'm almost a year post op and I can eat everything I used to except spicy foods (which cause instant stomach burning) and dairy (intestinal cramping). As for volumn.... slider foods I seem to have a never ending capacity for. Protein I can eat no more than 3oz... unless I've just exercised. For some reason my capacity after exercise is much more. Now, I strongly strongly urge you to stick to the diet. I made the horrible horrible mistake of thinking that I could eat anything as long as it was in certain circumstances. Just because you can eat it, does not mean you should (and if u do, you won't be happy with your results)
  6. It's possible you could take steroids for your injections. I do infusions and I have to take steroids for the symptoms (also flu like).
  7. @@TexasGirl86 I wish I had some wisdom for you not to feel that way but being caught in the trap myself I got nada lol. I wish u beat of luck. @@Kindle exactly!!! I honestly wish he had kept his mouth shut. I never asked for a specific weight, he gave it himself. Your absolutly right. I hate that the Dr's make it seem like all the weight loss will only happen in the first year. I'm too stubborn to stop just because a year has gone by. It may take me 3 years but ill get to where I want to be. Not what a statistic says I should be
  8. My surgeon said I should get down to 230. With 30 lbs to go It looks like I won't reach that by 12 months (Aug 25th). I wish he hadn't given me a goal because I feel like a failure... despite losing 100ish lbs.
  9. @@autumn23242 I keep having pains in the gallbladder area too and my pcp keeps mentioning that we may have to remove it. I never thought it may make the gastritis worse. I'm so glad I've resisted! So does the pH test just end up telling u what u should eat? I love my sleeve too but if I was told I could have a revision. To escape this pain I would in a heart beat!
  10. @@autumn23242 oh my, you poor baby!!!! I'm so sorry for all your troubles. I bet your just miserable. How long has it been since your surgery? I had an EGD which showed the gastritis but other wise was ok. The worst part is that when the gastritis gets bad I get esophageal spasms. Which are NOT pretty. I havnt had a pH test, surgeon suggested it if I didn't get better but I had by the time I saw him again. It's just started getting bad again this past month. It's obviously not as bad as yours but I really dread living my life forever like this. So what's the deal with the pH thing?
  11. @@KatrinaGrace omg carafate is wonderful. It disturbs me that I have to take it so often tho. How is the protonix??
  12. I've had some pretty intense bouts of gastritis but lately it's been hard to control. I take 40mg omemprezole daily, 150mg ranitidine with meals, tums in the morning, and carafate drink with flare ups. I currently have a flare up and none of its helping. The pain comes in burning waves and sometimes is so intense I wanna cry. I also get "hunger" symptoms like irritability, shakiness, and dizzyness. I used to mistaken this for low blood sugar but know now it's just stomach acid. Anywho... has anyone had stubborn gastritis that hasn't responded to the above treatment? Any idea what can be added ? I know that they do a revision to bypass for stubborn gerd, but I havnt heard much about gastritis. And only being 11 months out I don't think docs are even considering it. I'm curious what other treatments are available.

  15. Absolutly, I've done too much the past few days so today I'm sticking to walking, but I'm hoping to be back at it tomorrow so I'll let ya know if it works.
  16. @@NoMoBand yes, thank you! That really does help alot! I will try that with my next work out
  17. I've increased my exercise lately and noticed afterwards I'm starving. I expected that, but what I did not expect was how much I CAN eat. It seems like I'm able to eat alot more. I'm a hard core measurer and normally I can't even finish what I've measured out. After exercise tho I can eat it easily and I'm STILL hungry. No restriction at all. Is this normal? Has anyone else experienced this?
  18. Do u own your own house? Maybe you can renovate, or garden.
  19. That's very common. I read somewhere that hormones get trapped in fat and as you lost the fat, the hormones get released. My cycle is all messed up. Some times I get it every other week, every two weeks, 1x a month, for 10 days, for 15 days etc.... it's all over the place. I'm on the nuva ring and am supposed to be able to stop my cycle at will, but that idea has gone out the window! On the bright side this means your losing fat. Yay, go you!
  20. I totally understand your anxiety. The waiting was hard. I became obsessed with this site and bugged my scheduler too. Luckily she had wls years prior so she understood. I coped with the waiting by checking this site, doing research (and yes I had already done this, so I re-researched and re-re-researched etc.. lol). And I kept reminding myself that a year from now I would have the surgery and this wait time will be a distant memory. If I were to give 1 year ago me advice I would tell myself to watch marathons of 600lb life, biggest looser, and other weight loss shows. It helps me personally to get motivated.
  21. Oh, before I forget... take your measurments!!! It's not unusual to see the scale stall. But it's extremely helpful to be able to measure and see that you have lost inches.
  22. I'm going to point out the obvious..... that 2 lbs a day was most likely water weight coming off. Starting the med and the weight slowing down is probably coincidence. It's more likely your body did the normal halt as to it you lost too much too fast. U WILL start to lose again. Probably not nearly as fast since from here on it will be fat loss and not water/crap loss. But that's good. If the medicine is making you sick you need to tell your doctor so they can change/stop it. If you find the feeling continues I suggest also working with your dr/nut. It's not unusual to find alot of people feeling sick and too exhausted to exercise after they start. After all your body is used to this huge amount of calories and now your basically starving it. Your Dr should be able to help advise you.
  23. Personally I don't this this had so much to do with your weight loss as it does your happiness. Know the saying "misery loves company"? Some people just like unhappy people (or even people they think should be unhappy). I had a friend who was great. We worked together, went out together, talked all the time etc... I would honestly call her a best friend. She was always complaining to me about a guy she was obsessed with who wasnt as in to her. Then one day I met this amazing guy who made me happy and who was very obviously in to me (this is actually my husband now). Next thing I know she completely stopped talking to me and is seemed she almost "shunned" me. 6 years later it still hurts to find out our friendship meant so little to her. My advice to you is to sit her down and ask her what is going on. Tell her your feelings (the sooner the better because the longer u wait, the harder it gets). I actually waited several months to ask my "friend" what happened and by then it was just too late to fix things. Good luck, I really hope things work out for u.
  24. @@Sreeves I've been able to drink quite fast as well. Because of that I specifically asked my surgeon if I could stretch my sleeve by drinking water. He said no, then revised his statement to say as long as I don't keep drinking even after full and TRY to. I think it's safe to say that you just need to listen to your tummy, when it says enough, stop.
  25. While joking around with your brother you say "shush, I'm gonna kick u in the head" and he says "go for it" (thinking there's no way in the world u could get ur leg up that high).... so you do.... and easily!!! Hahaha, look on his face was priceless
