  1. My surgeon gave me a goal weight too and I wish he would have kept his mouth shut. I constantly feel like a failure because I won't make that weight by 1 year. How dumb is that? This surgery is a tool. Your not going to stop right at 210 just because your surgeon said so. Just work your hardest and ignore his goal.

    Slider foods

High calorie foods that take up little space. You can eat and eat and eat and it won't fill ya up. Things like chips, candy, crackers, etc..

    Can't hit 100 lbs...

Well, you've identified your trigger... The scale. Try putting it away for a few weeks. And your very much not alone, I thought I'd be at goal by now too. Losing has been hard and I keep falling off the wagon too. Stress and pmsing r my triggers.

    Long term slow loser results?

@@samelton68 so sorry your struggling. How much do u have to goal? @@cleveroc that's awesome. I added bike riding and plan to add swimming to my winter routine. I also cut back on the carbs. It kick stared my loss again. It's still slow, but at least I'm not at a standstill.

    Am I overeating?

Try to portion your meals out to accommodate how much you eat and add a protein shot every day.
  6. I've increased my exercise lately and noticed afterwards I'm starving. I expected that, but what I did not expect was how much I CAN eat. It seems like I'm able to eat alot more. I'm a hard core measurer and normally I can't even finish what I've measured out. After exercise tho I can eat it easily and I'm STILL hungry. No restriction at all. Is this normal? Has anyone else experienced this?

    Fat confessionals

LoL! I also refused to buy bigger clothes to fit my scarily increasing size. I also refused to wear anything that didn't have an elastic waist. I even continued to wear my maternity pant... 3 years after having my son! It worked but it kinda sucks I cant see my progress by needing smaller sizes. Now I just fit the same clothes I wore before better lol. At least I havnt had to spend a fortune!

    Food capacity with exercising

I apologize for being late with the info, I ended up overdoing it exercising and injured myself so wasn't able to exercise untill recently to test this out. But im back at it this weekend and I tried the suggestion out twice (yesterday and today) and both times worked! I didnt eat the suggestion since i just cant tolerate either, but instead i ate a carb/protein prior to my workouts, and when I went to eat later my restriction was it's usual wonderful self

    Throbbing in my sleeve?!

It's stomach spasms, I still get them almost a year out (usually after a bout of the flu) and mine go up the esophagus... not fun. I find it happens when the stomach is irritated (not chewing food, eating too fast, spice, hot fluid, too cold fluid, throwing up, gastritis etc..). Slow down, baby your tummy. If you find that it continues no matter how nice you are to your tummy (I had that issue), ask your doctor for nitro for the attacks. It helps alot.

    Gastritis

I've had some pretty intense bouts of gastritis but lately it's been hard to control. I take 40mg omemprezole daily, 150mg ranitidine with meals, tums in the morning, and carafate drink with flare ups. I currently have a flare up and none of its helping. The pain comes in burning waves and sometimes is so intense I wanna cry. I also get "hunger" symptoms like irritability, shakiness, and dizzyness. I used to mistaken this for low blood sugar but know now it's just stomach acid. Anywho... has anyone had stubborn gastritis that hasn't responded to the above treatment? Any idea what can be added ? I know that they do a revision to bypass for stubborn gerd, but I havnt heard much about gastritis. And only being 11 months out I don't think docs are even considering it. I'm curious what other treatments are available.

    Gastritis

Ugh, I honestly just take it when I can remember. My 3yo son has to take a liquid ranitidine because he has GERD. His is horrible tasting and he refused to take it till he noticed his and mine come in the same type bottle. Now he urges me to take the "icky" meds. I think I'd forget if not for that lol

    Sleeve limitations

I'm almost a year post op and I can eat everything I used to except spicy foods (which cause instant stomach burning) and dairy (intestinal cramping). As for volumn.... slider foods I seem to have a never ending capacity for. Protein I can eat no more than 3oz... unless I've just exercised. For some reason my capacity after exercise is much more. Now, I strongly strongly urge you to stick to the diet. I made the horrible horrible mistake of thinking that I could eat anything as long as it was in certain circumstances. Just because you can eat it, does not mean you should (and if u do, you won't be happy with your results)
  13. It's possible you could take steroids for your injections. I do infusions and I have to take steroids for the symptoms (also flu like).
  14. @@TexasGirl86 I wish I had some wisdom for you not to feel that way but being caught in the trap myself I got nada lol. I wish u beat of luck. @@Kindle exactly!!! I honestly wish he had kept his mouth shut. I never asked for a specific weight, he gave it himself. Your absolutly right. I hate that the Dr's make it seem like all the weight loss will only happen in the first year. I'm too stubborn to stop just because a year has gone by. It may take me 3 years but ill get to where I want to be. Not what a statistic says I should be
  15. My surgeon said I should get down to 230. With 30 lbs to go It looks like I won't reach that by 12 months (Aug 25th). I wish he hadn't given me a goal because I feel like a failure... despite losing 100ish lbs.

    Gastritis

@@autumn23242 I keep having pains in the gallbladder area too and my pcp keeps mentioning that we may have to remove it. I never thought it may make the gastritis worse. I'm so glad I've resisted! So does the pH test just end up telling u what u should eat? I love my sleeve too but if I was told I could have a revision. To escape this pain I would in a heart beat!

    Gastritis

@@autumn23242 oh my, you poor baby!!!! I'm so sorry for all your troubles. I bet your just miserable. How long has it been since your surgery? I had an EGD which showed the gastritis but other wise was ok. The worst part is that when the gastritis gets bad I get esophageal spasms. Which are NOT pretty. I havnt had a pH test, surgeon suggested it if I didn't get better but I had by the time I saw him again. It's just started getting bad again this past month. It's obviously not as bad as yours but I really dread living my life forever like this. So what's the deal with the pH thing?
