  1. I was sleeved on March 13th. My surgery went well and my recover about 95% was great, I had a reaction to the glue my doc used to

Close me up. They said it was normal, it hurt like hell to get up and down, painful and burning sensations. But do I regret my decision? Absolutely not, no pain no gain. We risked our lives doing this surgery to make ourselves healthier and we can do more things now. Keep your head up, when things get tough..you can't just give up. This is a hard situation to be in but trust me, a month post op..you'll love every minute of your 'new' life. You can do this.

  2. I understand where you're coming from. I'm a hair stylist and I see lots of people!! Some people I've told but I haven't told many because you never know how people may react to having WLS. Some of my clients who have known me for a while still bring it up every time I see them, which is nice and everything but I had the surgery...I appreciate your support but I don't want the CONSTANT reminder that I had it done. Let's move on and live our lives. Some of you may feel differently about keeping it secret or not wanting a reminder you had it done.. I don't like when people ask me 'how much have you lost?' I know they are there for support and they are proud but I personally think it's rude for clients or people in general to ask that, it's another thing if it's your best friends or a family member. Just always remember to keep your head up and know you did it for yourself and yourself only, not everyone needs to know every single detail about your new life.

  3. There's a website called Bariatric Fusion. It has all sorts of Vitamins on it, the site is specifically for people who had the bypass, sleeve and lap band. I take the Mixed berry flavor complete chewable Vitamin and mineral supplement. And I take chewable Iron. Research it, I've really enjoyed these vitamins and you only have to take three of the vitamins three times a day AND they taste good! Good luck!

  4. You can not drink them if you want to be flabby and deficient. If you are not going to drink Protein Shakes, you will need to drink Protein Drinks and such. Protein saves your muscles while you lose weight rapidly. I bought the Nector chocolate Protein Shake mix and it's awesome! You should definitely try it, doesn't taste so fake i guess. Try researching other ways you can go about drinking your 40-60 grams a day of protein. Ask your nutritionist.

  5. I can definitely take a full shower..washing hair and everything. My incisions are glued so I could take a shower. You'll be able to take one soon and you will love every second of it and won't want to get out haha!

I'm definitely cold. I'm super cold after naps and just throughout the day I get freezing. You're not the only one ;) might be from the oxy

  6. IM three days post op and I came home yesterday. I did pretty well while in the hospital, I was in high spirits and walked my ass off. Only time I really hurt was getting up out of bed or getting out of a chair, that's when your ab muscles come into play and man does it hurt!

I'm sleeping okay. Slept in my bed last night, I couldn't wait to actually sleep in my own since the hospital. I couldn't turn or really move because I was sleeping on my back and it hurt too much to turn. I tried having pillow support if I did try and turn on my side, it wasn't enough and too much discomfort. It's difficult because I'm a stomach sleeper, I feel like it's going to be tough no matter what. After walking around some this morning, I was watching something on TV and a funny part came on and I laughed. NOT GOOD. It hurt so incredibly bad, I immediately started to tear up and tried controlling my breathing. I took some liquid oxycodone. Other than that, my experience so far with the sleeve has been exceptionally good. I'm extremely proud of myself and other Sleevers for doing this because it is NOT easy. Keep up the good work everyone.

Be proud of yourself and one another :)

  7. I am getting sleeved on March 13th. I'm reading so many stories on this surgery but I haven't heard much about the hospital stay. I was told between two and three nights, which doesn't matter how long I need to stay but haven't heard much about the over all stay. Any one have any pointers or tips on how to survive the hospital stay? Expectations for pain? It would a greatly appreciated!

  8. It's taken almost two years to get to the point where I am now. Found out this morning that I will be getting Sleeved next Thursday the 13th!!! I feel so many different things right now but I am happy that I can love and live the rest of my life happy and healthy.

So to you fellows Sleevers...I will be where you are soon!
