At 4 weeks I was about 28 lbs down. Is your ticker since surgery? If so, than it looks like you're right on track! Don't worry - be patient. It might go slower than you think it should or than you want, but remember that you didn't gain it overnight either!!

don't beat yourself up! I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. your surgery didn't happen for a reason. keep on the Clear Liquids and roll with the surgery. i am so sorry that this happened. i would be one angry person had that happened to me. however, it was for a reason. praying for your success!!

I think that we all have felt that way. "What if this doesnt work?" "This is my last chance" "There is no do over" This will work as far as we let it. If we fall back into those old habits and dont take care of the initial reason why we became this way it wont work. My issue is I find comfort in food. Its a constant. Its something that is always appropriate. I eat at my desk, in my car, even while getting ready for work in the morning. The problem is food is everywhere all the time. Someone dies we eat. Someone breaks our hearts we eat ice cream. Someones birthday we eat. Someones wedding we eat. Its the norm to eat when happy and celebrating and when emotionally down. We just have to be ready for this. I for one am ready to tote my meals around with me everywhere and have a list of healthy alternatives to eating when having these feelings. Food and I have already started to part ways. Im finding that Im not really craving the usual stuff anymore which is GREAT! I think that if we get our head in the game WE are bound to succeed!
I think that staying connected is a key too! Sure the surgery help us to lose it but we have to be the ones to keep it off. Im here to be supported and support. I plan on coming here for a long time to come. I know there will be bumps but the prize of a long healthy life is worth it all! This is a life long battle and remember that we did not get obese over night so we cant expect to lose it all that way. It took me four years to finally make up my mind and schedule surgery. This is going to be a great beginning to the rest of our healthier lifes.

I chose to go gluten free after my surgery in hopes that it would help with my rheumatoid arthritis - it did....or losing the weight did one.... Being pain free has certainly been incentive to stay gluten free! I've also tried to stay sugar free, as much as possible (I think being gluten free helps with the sugar free). There are so many hidden sugars foods so that's been hard. I do contribute the low sugar and gluten free to helping a lot with my weight loss (of course I know this, right?? ). I figure if I keep that attitude in my head, it will be a good thing to me. I really feel like my eating habits are becoming just that now....habits. I don't want to think of myself as being on a diet!!!
I've watched valentines day come and go with no chocolate, now St. Patrick's day.....I've even sat through a movie with my hubby and kids eating a bucket of popcorn (one of my all time favorites) and you know what I've realized, I just don't care anymore. I have a whole different outlook on food now. It's a need not a want. Don't get me wrong, I still have some cravings here and there, but if I don't need it or if it isn't going to nourish my body, I don't eat it....or at least I try not to....

Sleeved on Jan 27th. I truly feel a better me was born that day. Didn't have a dream recovery but that is a distant memory today. I love to cook so I cook lots of different things and make servings for the week or freeze. I track on my fitness pal. My new tummy does not like sugar. The biggest change for me is my relationship with food. We broke up and I have moved on. I seriously feed my body now. I'm am growing out of my clothes and can't wait for warmer weather and dresses. They are more flexible than jeans. I am down 37 lbs and share my story with anyone that asks. I want people to live this life.
Oh except for the fact that I NEVER POOP! Sorry for the over share but u asked how I was feeling.

thank you for posting this... I am still in my pre-op phase (surgery should be in July, if everything continues to go according to schedule).
I find this site extremely helpful with the amount of supportive members.. I love reading about the journeys and milestones that are taking place along the way and I look forward to the day where I have my own milestones. I must admit that sometimes my thinking can get in the way, especially when I have battled so long in not only my weight but my health too.... sometimes the fearful thought of "what if this doesn't work' tries to creep in. I know and completely understand that this is not a quick fix, that it is a tool and I do embrace that, but I guess trying so many times to have success and failing at it, kind of scares me. (hope I am making sense)....
Anyway, Congratulations to all who are in this journey, showing that all steps forward lead to change and growth toward success..
    Sincerely, Angi

I wish I had realized how quickly I would go through clothes sizes. I've been overweight my entire adult life & worn the same size for years. Therefore, I have A LOT of clothes. Now, I'm dropping sizes about every three to four weeks so it's been very difficult to keep up. I'm having to buy a few things here and there just to make it through the work week. I know, great problem to have!! I just wish I would have started sooner so I would be a little more prepared.

@Terribj Congrats! That 19 lbs must feel amazing! I had a feeling that the liquid would be hard. I am finding that I dont chew too much and Im having a hard time getting all my chews in so maybe that phase wont be too too hard for me:) Im hoping to squeeze into a sports bra so no wires. Maybe that will help out. Congrats again on your journey

    Hi,
I feel like my surgery day is speeding up fast!!!! VROOOOM! I was curious as to how some might answer this question be it brand new sleevers and old sleevers. What had you wished you had you known before surgery? This isnt just for negative stuff but also the positive. I am so ready for this journey but I want to be prepared in every way possible.
Im also curious about social media. How much did you share? I started a private group and invited what I like to call my support team. 40 people I thought would like to be kept posted on progress and cheer me on. Im also going to do a video diary and invite those 40 people to share in it if they would like. I know that people can be negative and positive but how much should one share about this whole journey on social media (like outside my 40 people)?
After starting this journey four years ago and jumping on and off this ride I am ready. Sometimes as time gets closer I feel like screaming YAY ME!

Chancie, I love your NSV #4 wearing a summer dress and feeling like a lady. I haven't been able to do that in sooo long. I am hoping for that next summer. How wonderful for you, it's inspiring me. I love that feeling too, and sure do miss wearing summer dresses.
Maybe we should all write these victories down on paper and post above the scale, so when we have a stall, we can look at all our victories, and keep on going.
God bless you guys, you're great!

    I too LOVE this thread!!

Dange- Thats too funny 'bout the pants!! Good thing you were at home!!

    1) I think one of my favorite NSV is being able to paint my toenails!! I could hardly bend over before to even clip them!

    2) I can also put my cars seat all the way front- and still have room between the steering wheel and my belly!!! And I can even put down the arm rest now!

    3) When going to a restaurant, not worried if I can fit into a booth!

    4) Being able to wear summer dresses and feel like a lady!

There is so much more... but thats what comes to mind right now.

Way to go Ruthi! I remember how excited
I was when I fit into my first size 12s.

My biggest NSV ever was when I was talking with my trainer awhile back about
putting a profile up on a dating site. I asked him which box to check, average
or "a few exra lbs." I wanted a man's opinion. He said You're definitely average.

That same day, a man at the gym asked
me how I keep my legs so toned. I was
literally shocked. I just pointed to the machines I use.

I think it's the U-touch that makes husbands jealous. :biggrin0:
    Some recent NSVs:
-Some pants I bought two months ago are too big for me now even though I haven't gone down that much on the scale
-The other day I saw a picture of myself and instead of noticing all the imperfections, I thought I looked hot (and tiny)
-Shot up a hill today that would have been a challenge 6 months ago
-My resting heart rate is the same as for a lifetime athlete

    Non scale Victory

My favorite one to date has got to be fitting in the booth at our favorite Mexican restaurant without having to move the table closer to my son. Plus, having lots of room between my belly and the table.
    The others:
Seeing all the bones in my feet and ankles
    Having just 1 chin
My son wrapping his arms around me and getting excited that he can clasp his hands for a "real hug".
All of my rings and bracelets being too big
Buying regular sized clothes from Old Navy
Having my dermatologist not even recognize me until she read my chart, that was an amazing feeling.

Wonderful Bob! I absolutely love this thread. My shouts outs so far:

    * tossed all my size 2x - believe me, not even the Goodwill would want them.
    * fit into Liz Claiborn 16WP jeans - tossed my 22WP - see above.
    * able to go 1 hour vigorously on the treadmill and love doing it.
    * rewarded myself w/a Sansun slot radio to keep me going while exercising.
    * have more energy than I have had in years.
    * vow never to wear black again unless it is lingerie.
    * stopped caffeine, diet soda, sugar, flour, but haven't we all!

Hi all. I am now down roughly 60 pounds and seven weeks out from when I started my liquid pre-diet. Am also having some awesome NSV moments. Some are:

No longer wearing 3x shirts. They are packed and ready to be taken to Goodwill. My size 48 (expandable) pants? Gone too. Can button my pants at my belly button. No more "slant pants." I wore a much smaller belt...and it was a new one! Went three days this past week without needing a mid day nap. Three days now without any slimes or throwing up. Joined a local health club to work out. Snoring is all but gone. No more BP meds at all (125/65 is normal now). And BMs much more normal and less stressful. Bought myself an I-touch. That was my 50 pound loss gift to myself. Any suggestions for the 100 plateau? That's a short list, but ones that come to mind.

    Please, share yours!

Let's look at the fact that this journey is not just about the weight loss, but about all the wonderful things that continue to happen along the ride!
