I've been worried about the dog situation I may have. My three are lap dogs. 2- 8 lbs and 1- 115 lbs. It will be extremely tough to keep them off me. Feel better. You will feel great in no time. <3

I have a 25 lb Cavachon and a 95 lb labradoodle who both think they are lap dogs. I used a pillow to protect my stomach for the first month.

The dogs didn't do well with with my bladder repair last year. Couldn't stand for me to have private time alone in the spare room. So needy! Even got territorial over my folly bag.

I think both ways are normal. I started with the other and ended with that yesterday.

April 16th role call - who's with me!

I think staying connected with others is key to this being successful. We are going to hit bumps and no one wants to feel alone. The stigma that can come from wls still can be trying and I for one need like minded positive people in my life. I'm up for any topic too. If I don't say it or ask it how am I to know if someone's riding the porcelain hell train with me. Buahaha! This is my go to lifesaver and since we are all discovering our bodies at the same time what better people to share everything with. I have decided that my crappy start today is because I think everything is settling internally to where the space of my stomach used to be. I'm feeling a lot better the more time goes by. Biggest complaint at this point is energy. I do my treadmill but time I'm on it is getting shorter and right after lights out. I have a question though. So now that passing gas is a relief is this a forever thing or just an body adjusting thing? :/ I have so many people trying to come see me and I'm embarrassed but if they know me they will get over it as fast as I do. Lol Thank you girls for sharing too!

April 16th role call - who's with me!

Today's not a good day for eating. It all just sits in my chest like a lump. Which is weird because yesterday was good. I'm going back to clears for a couple days. I walk and do a little around my house. 15 minutes max of constant moving and it's nap time. I took four naps yesterday. At least an hour each. My brain wants to do more but my body just gets so tired. Dr told me at my appt that being this tired is normal and it can take about 15 days for my body to start burning fat (using fatty acids for fuel? Can't remember word for word because I was so exhausted from the walk in parking lot) but when that happens to expect a high. Come on high. Lol. I need it.

I'm only doing protein at meals. Unflavored isopure in chicken soup broth, watered down yogurt, or today's add watered down cream of wheat. I get full fast so I try to mix it in a small amount of those to try to get it all in. I can't do protein shakes at this point too sweet. I also wait ten to twenty minutes and get on treadmill to walk for ten otherwise it sits like a lump in there for what feels like hours. Good luck sweets. Now that I'm on protein though I full longer and getting less fluids. Sigh. It's baby steps.
  9. ......just a little funny side note.TMI possibly? Never knew how much I would share with strangers going through this too! Never been so excited to poop!!! that is all.
  10. Hi, I feel like my surgery day is speeding up fast!!!! VROOOOM! I was curious as to how some might answer this question be it brand new sleevers and old sleevers. What had you wished you had you known before surgery? This isnt just for negative stuff but also the positive. I am so ready for this journey but I want to be prepared in every way possible. Im also curious about social media. How much did you share? I started a private group and invited what I like to call my support team. 40 people I thought would like to be kept posted on progress and cheer me on. Im also going to do a video diary and invite those 40 people to share in it if they would like. I know that people can be negative and positive but how much should one share about this whole journey on social media (like outside my 40 people)? After starting this journey four years ago and jumping on and off this ride I am ready. Sometimes as time gets closer I feel like screaming YAY ME!
  11. Now on the other side. Take the gasx strips right away to get the gas moving. That the first two days were going to hurt way worse than I thought but by day four I was going to be fine and never have one regret. That a little fuzzy cheap throw was nicer than a big pillow to hold over my big incision when coughing or if your lucky like me vomiting. That unflavored protein powder and chicken broth(not from can since I can taste the metal) along with Popsicles were going to be my staple......last but not least that everyone's perfume including mine smells terrible after surgery and the take a Whiff before putting some on good luck to everyone but we all know in the end it's not luck that gets us to our goal is strength. Hugs!

Anyone having the sleeve in april?!

Also if you can have someone make you some light flavored Popsicles. Red and grape flavors were too strong but orange Popsicles feel nice. I'm making g2 by Gatorade ones now. Hoping it ups my liquid intake

Anyone having the sleeve in april?!

Blue is right. I'd say the first 24 were awful and then the next two terrible. Today started off badly but I actually feel pretty good right now. I think anything is possible that you set your kind to. Hard to break old habits as I'm finding tonight. Don't forget the gasx strips. They are my go to item at this point. I did bring a pillow but I ended up using a super soft throw rolled up over my big incision when coughing and throwing up. It helped a ton. Not too bulky like the pillow. I set a timer at seven minutes now and when not feeling full I drink 1/2 oz of wAter. I'm doing pretty good today. Got like 50 oz in. First day of protein is why I think I feel so much better. I just have to remind myself this isn't a race and I'm not like anyone else. We are individuals and unique. I'm down ten lbs but I expect that to slow down now.

April 16th role call - who's with me!

My tummy and intestines are talking. Even more so now with adding protein to my diet. I can't even get the chewable multi down. Just tried and dry heaves are back :/ going to try in two days. Need to get up to 60 ounce of liquids.

April 16th role call - who's with me!

Hi tangy. Glad your feeling better. This being my first protein day I'm feeling a little better. Had a terrible morning with dry heaves and vomiting but after two hours I was better just weak. I'm just going to wait a couple more days for meds and vitamins. Now I'm feeling a lot less lightheaded and I think it's the protein. Got 20 oz liquid in so far. Going to try to get close to 45. Increase 5 every day. Going to get my 60 protein in which I feel great about. Isopure unflavored to warm chicken broth tastes like strained chicken noodle soup which is okay by me.
  16. Four days out. Today started pretty terribly. Can't do vitamins or meds apparently but I'll try again in two days. About 30-40 oz a day fluids. Trying to pick it up a bit. Trying protein at the moment. Happy Easter. Hoping the rest of the day is better! Hugs!

    Todays the day! Whoop whoop!

Today is hell but tomorrow will be better. I have to keep a positive hat on. This is only temporary but I seriously feel that if I keep dry heaving my insides are going to come outside. :/ I got this. I got this.

April 16th role call - who's with me!

hey tangy. I seem to be taking in less air and feel less gas pains taking down 1/2 oz other than smaller sips. Guess I was taking in extra air each time Not sure if that will help. I seem to pass more gas with the strips but mostly is burp.

April 16th role call - who's with me!

The jiggle or wiggle every time I feel discomfort helps push it all down and sit well. I'm passing gas now every time I take a gas x strip. My family is cracking up every time I wiggle jiggle. I look ridiculous but it works. I'm drinking 1/2 ounce at a time and eating a whole Popsicle one sitting now. yay me. Pains more of a burn or throb.

No bm. I haven't passed gas from below either. Just the baby burps. I know that I'm urinating a whole lot more than I'm drinking so I'm concerned about dehydration.

April 16th role call - who's with me!

Hi tangy. This is going to sound ridiculous but every time I take a sip of water which is every five minutes by timer I jiggle my self and the same for gas pains. It helps. Seems to help more than walking. Every time I get up and sit back down I do a slight jiggle. I hope you find comfort. It's been working for me for hiccups too which were terrible.

    Todays the day! Whoop whoop!

Sitting in my room. Pain was worse than I thought in big incision area at first. I'm like a racehorse in the halls. Okay I'm lying. I'm like a old woman but I've done five laps. I can't do the pain syrup so no more pain meds for me as of midnight. I'm okay with that. My surgery got bumped to 3 so it's only been a little over twelve hours. No gas pain burping or the other so I'm a bit worried. I have successfully sipped five ounces and kept them down which is amazing because I kept throwing up after the anti nasea meds. Been sleeping good though. Glad to hear you are all doing pretty well. Bug hugs.
