Pinky congrats on the baby boy, I know I have said it before, but I also didn't know you were having a little guy. I will say I have one of each and boys are fun!!! Being pregnant before this surgery or after it takes a toll on your body no matter what, but heres the good thing, you doing it after means you will just be more healthy during your pregnancy with the weight off. I was pregnant before and while I was at one of my heaviest points and It made for me to have many problems with my second pregnancy. You will do great, and after the baby comes, you will be back to loosing like before. Your going to do great, and be a great mama!!!

  3. I am still very amazed at certain things this surgery truely gave me my life back and then some.. alot of first for me this year I never knew was possible the major thing is im 10 weeks pregnant expecting my first child i cannot believe that at all. The second major thing is im not longer shopping in plus size department its funny how i still wander over to it regurdless im still amazed when i walk by mirrors... however 1 thing im not fond of is complete strangers walking up to me ...never new people noticed me like that ... all in all its been a rough year and i know i got a rough road ahead of me but i wouldnt change it for the world... :)

    4. pupichupi

      pupichupi

Just talk to your OB, and your surgeon, they should be able to advise you, but I don't think that it really is going to effect you any, just make sure you get in your vitamins, and your protein still, I think the way you eat now will probably be better for the baby anyway, cause your eating in a healthier way, plus it's going to be better for you too, cause your not heavy like before and your less likely to have pregnancy diabetes!!! I had that and it stinks!!! Be happy god gives us babies when he is ready!!! He must think your ready to be a mom!!! This is an amazing thing!!!

  6. 6 month follow up today!!

      Dear Pinky4562,

The thing that stood out when I read your post and last comment was, "I can do things for myself." I'm guessing he was your primary caregiver during your recovery... He may be feeling "unneeded" which can turn into "unwanted feelings", "she doesn't need/want me anymore" in many a case. Try giving him back some responsibility, in a sense, so he can more slowly wean out of the "she can't survive without me" phase. He needs to transition to "Look at what all my help did for her! I'm proud to have done it; I'm proud of her!" Each person is different in their needs as a caregiver, so you will have to do some figuring out for him. Perhaps the first thing is to turn over something to him that you are doing for yourself now, and just let him know that perhaps you are a bit too ambitious; you want to back up a little, and you need him to do this or that, etc... because that or this was so beneficial in your healing and now you need him back on the job! For your physical and mental health. [This is all true and there are no false statements in telling him this, because the unrest between the 2 of you could have a negative effect on your health and your emotional well-being.] I've had previous health issues before that required about 3-4 phone calls from my husband during his work day to check in on me. Eventually, I didn't need that anymore, and it was a pain to keep answering the phone as I was chasing 4 kids around. But due to me sensing he felt "unneeded", I told him I needed 2 calls, still, and then after some time cut it to 1, and a couple months later I rarely get a call unless I ask him to call. My experience, I'm sure, is small in comparison but it really helped him. Oh, I also gave him back the job of putting the laundry away after I folded it. I had to give up my OCD about putting clothes away just so in the dressers and closets, and we have all survived - haha! 3 years later that is still his duty. :) Hope this helps!?

I've been out of surgery 1yr2months,I've lost a total of 113lbs.I've never had no complcations.no dumping.no nausea.really no pain after surgery.the problem I do have is the change.problems in my relationship.that I've been in for 9yrs.he acts different.he has pushed me away.and never has complemented me.very rude to me.I don't understand him.plus I had friends.and family treat me in a rude way .all women,I didn't expect people to treat me different.

I'm 7 weeks post bypass, my Doc and Nut did not give a calorie limit, they just said 60 to 80 grams of protein, 100 grams of carbs, and 30 grams of fats, with at least 10 grams of good fat being consumed at one meal. I am getting in 60 to 70 grams of protein a day, but rarely meet the carb and fats limits. Nut says that ok for now, to just concentrate on the good dense proteins.

  13. im so glad i took my life back i traded in food for my 2nd chance and have never been happier yes there is still frustrating times but at the end of the day id do this all over for this feeling....

  14. so mad at myself i dont get how it happened i just wanted a dang fry... ended up chewing on an jr arbys ham and cheddar and was full after 3 bites :( ... such a wasted meal! ..

don't beat yourself up over it, we all have to fight the demons from our past and love for food, I only lost 1 lb this week and I think it's cause I found that I am tolerating more carbs and I need to back away from them!!!

    3. pinky4652

      pinky4652

yeah i deff. had a moment they barely put any meat on it so not much to save.. had to check myself today i cant make that mistake again needless to say the bread got stuck and i was in pain all night so liquids today and hope for a better day tomorrow .. and yes carbs are crazy for me too! i love i can take a little and put the rest away but i know there is other food i should be eating that would benefit me more!

Try not to focus on the scale. I did that for awhile, and it isn't healthy or helpful. Enjoy the extra energy and new activities. The weight loss will come in time.

Stool softenfers for staters. 2 a day....As for your stomach, are you eating properly and not getting ahead of the plan? If you are giving the proper diet a fair try and not eating the wrong things, then you should contact your doctor.
