    Am i eating to slow

Redstorm I am glad to see you are progressing so well. I to was fearful about eating...but each new bit of new foods will get you past that...so don't be to scared to eat, because the band is just teaching us to eat less and slower and chew, chew, chew. It takes me about 17 to 20 minutes to each my meals. I take a small bit, chew and then swallow...but I do put my fork down between each bit like 2muchfun says. it is a whole new learning experience...but you are going to do just fine...we are all rooting for ya!!! let us know if you have anymore concerns...we are here for ya!!!
  2. Bibi<3 you need to just get up and walk a bit in the house, but rest as much as you can sweetie...make sure you are sipping on something all day, okay!!! take the meds that were given to you...for the first few days and the pain will ease up. Let me know if you need anything...best wishes.

    Got some good news today

    Thanks Everyone!!!
  5. Kyle K I am sorry you are hitting a plateau, but think you have it under control because you know it has to do with what you are putting in your mouth. I do believe that is what is wrong with me...since I have no restriction (only 3 cc's in a 10 cc band) at all at this time I know my portion sizes are a bit bigger than they should be...so am trying to reduce them...gonna start using my plate they gave me last week at the fill clinic. So hang in there...we will get thru this...and you know you can do this look how far you have come...remember you are my hero...you need to keep the good works up...so I have something to strive for!!!

    Intake

destinyford...if you go to My Fitness Pal.com it will actually ask you some questions and it will tell you. mine is set for 1200 calories per day...that will also be a place to journal your food. hope that helps...I know I am suppose to eat 60 - 70 grams of Protein a day and it breaks down the rest too...you can adjust the categories for each field if you want too. hope that helps...let me know if you need anything else. I know it varies per doctor...but mine told me to use this site and I adjusted according to my dietitian. let me know if that works okay?

    what a great day

not sure what your doctor said but mine said only liquids with nothing in them for the first couple of weeks...because we are swollen down there...I had a hernia repaired as well with my band. maybe try straining your soup so you are only getting the broth...hope you feel okay!!!
  11. mine said the first few weeks too...I use one all the time...helps me sip, sip, sip otherwise I'd be afraid that I'd gulp...maybe they are concerned about getting air in your stomach.

    Strange feeling inside

you need to call your doctor and/or his nurse...to just make sure...okay....feli04alex
  14. not sure which type of surgery you have chosen Loristi, but after reading alot on here most doctors prefer we don't drink carbonated beverages. I have had 2 mini's Pepsi Max's that didn't cause any problem, but I iced them down alot and stirred the bubbles out of them...so don't know if that helped. but all I can say is that I just don't have the craving any longer...I drink coffee and ice tea but use splenda for my tea and sugar free powder creamer for my coffee. outside of a protein shake (my snack in the afternoons) I drink water and plenty of it...just don't care for anything else any longer. I think that happens to all of us-but I would do whatever my doctor instructed us to do...mine said as tolerated...and let them set for a long while...can't stand flat soda so I just have done without and I haven't had an issue without it...LOLRH. hang in there you'll do just fine-we have your back!!!!

    eggs?

I couldn't do the scrambled either unless it was the eggbeaters...can eat poached medium well and have had an bite or two of my hubs omelet...egg salad worked well too...just don't know why I can't do the regular scrambled. they are good for your protein needs though!!! hope we helped Christy929!!! have a wonderful day.

    Traveling with the Lap Band?

I haven't travelled abroad with my band so I am not sure what the flight will do to you, maybe that's a good question for your surgeon or his staff. as far as the foods go...I have been to many countries and I know just thinking back on those trips that there was plenty that I could eat to keep me well within my food choices. Europeans do eat alot of bread, so you might wish to skip that...but they have alot of meat choices and wonderful vegetables. enjoy your trip, but check with the doctor to see if there is any concerns you need to be made aware of while you are outside of the country!!! Have fun PuraVida37...have fun!!!

    Starting Mushies

hello there mca98 the mushy stuff went down really easy as long as they weren't too thick, remember to make them that way. don't be fearful of eating...that's not good either...needless worry dearheart...each step of the way you make progress and things inside are healing. pretty soon you will be hungry thinking you could eat a bear...LOLRH!!! you will do fine...Congrats and welcome to Bandland!!! Like Bandista said even with the mushy stuff you can learn to slow down your eating habits and even chew better when you can. that was my biggest challenge!!! we are here for ya so hang in there and use us when you need too.

    Got some good news today

Thanks Everyone...feel like I can do it all now...for a long time thinking I was too old to move on with my life and no one would want me has been very depressing for me...but as they say you are as old as you feel and I feel like I am walking on clouds right now. So I reached one of my goals-to get that job I've been wanting for years...and my second one which I still need to achieve it getting to my goal weight which I am working on with the help of all of you!!! Have an absolutely wonderful day!!!
  21. I am 3 mths out and have two fills (next one 5/8), but I am also on a stall!!! not sure why, but I think 3rd time's a charm...wishing you that same charm...let me know how you feel after fill 3 will ya? will be thinking about you today hoping this fill will help you start losing again!!!
  22. I agree with catfish87 enuf!!! I felt that way as well...but stuck to the program. I haven't felt any "restrictions" yet either and I have 3 cc's in my band...but it's different for everyone as these kind folks keep reminding me. I do know that my doctor...said to drink protein shakes once or twice a day and that seemed to help me out a lot...not sure if you are already doing that. you are in bandster hell right now so they say...but just keep focused...get up and move around more if you can or do something that can take your mind off of food. I so loved reading all the posts on here...kept me busy...LOLRH!!! you are doing great and I'm so proud of you!!! maybe some mashed potatoes or mashed sweet potatoes might also take the edge off...just a suggestion...they helped me too. let me know how you are doing okay...was so good to see your post on here today!!!

    HELP!

jbanks1274...you have two of the best folks (2muchfun and bandista) (and now techasgirl) responding to you. 2muchfun and bandista have helped me out a lot, so know we are here for ya. I am only 3 mths post-op, and have had a few issues, but I feel so much better when I look on this forum and see others have the same or similar issues. so stay looking for answers here or ask your doctor/nurses they have great ideas too...since they have been doing this for along time (most of them anyways)!!! you are going to do GREAT!!! can tell that now...you are working out and I haven't been able to do that quite yet. so please don't be so discouraged...will chat with you after your surgery and I know you will be thinking better then too!!! hang in there sweetie...we have your back!!!
