  1. I had mine on Aug 12th in Federal Way, WA. I had RNY as well as my gallbladder removed. I couldn't be more happy with my recovery time.
  2. My Dr used Da Vinci...all went great!
  3. I feel a loss but its being replaced by trying to be creative with what i cook & making that happy medium with my family.
  4. Great advice! Thank you so much!
  5. What advice can you offer new bypass patients who are from brand new, up to a year in??
  6. I'm a tad curious about that too Rooster, as they told me to continue my reflux meds as needed...as needed??? I'm confersssed...
  7. Thank you, thank you for responding! I was starting to think it was me! Was there anything you did to gain any energy during that time? Or was it more or less a waiting/healing game?
  8. I've seen this question before so it's probably in the archives but my energy level is incredibly low. I've been getting my protein in more than ever before as well as fluids and still...falling flat in the energy dept. How long does this last until some fashion of normalcy kicks in?
  9. All on moderation right? I'd never comprimise my success eating noodles and popcorn, I'd just like to have (or rather taste) from time to time. Its the human element. I was under the impression popcorn was bad due to the kernels & the new pouch...
  10. Ok I understand carbonated beverages...but Im hearing noodles and popcorn too. Can anyone give my their off limit foods?
  11. I had bypass and my gallbladder removed together. My gallbladder was in super bad shape. I took 3 weeks. I probably could've done it in two if I had to but I didn't have to so I took the time.
  12. I get hungry but it tends to be after watching those horrible commercials on tv or smelling something good. I think its mostly in my head. Its also from being sick of eating in the pureed stage but just hit soft foods so that helps with options. Keep yourself busy!
  13. I told a couple of siblings, someone I work with, my husband and my best friend. Basically the ones I would'nt be able to keep it from. As much research as I've done on my own, I didn't want to listen to anyone negative. I'll tell more as time goes on...I think I'm down about 25 pounds now so the time is coming to sing.
  14. Sounds like we're seeing some great results! I'm still in liquid/puree stage and stumbled into an Emerald City Smoothie a couple times. Ive tried a few low cal, low sugar, high protein smoothies and felt as if I were cheating. They were sooo good! If anyone has that chain close or others like it, check it out!
  15. So all went well! The gallbladder was indeed the kicker for me. It gave my surgeon a run for his money! Packed with stones and very sick but its now out. I never realized how bad it made me feel but with all the pain from bypass & gallbladder removal (8/12), I still managed to feel better than before? So though I got the extra grief, it was worth it. Thanks for everyones input on this!
  16. People are bold in their judgements. Some of the things they say are just incredible and reveal what asses they really are.
  17. Laying on ice right now and loving it (4/5 days post op). I think Im a slow healer.
  18. You'll do great...I'm not a fan either, you'll make it through! Thats how I felt too.
  19. Im home...I was out the day following ????
  20. Yeah, just super slow. I think I'd be moving around a bit faster if it weren't for the gallbladder removal. The surgeon had some issues with it. It was messed up. He said he could tell I had had atleast one attack prior to surgery. Kinda scary! But yeah...just moving super slow, gradually getting better daily.
