I've read a few places in the forum that the scale at DrOrtiz weighs MUCH heavier than others? Is this true or are people trying to scare me!!!! LOL
I don't feel like the scale weighed heavy at all, it was right on point with my scale at home.
Don't worry so much about the number, just do what they advise & you'll do just fine!!

@@Swee_dee Just back from OCC (surgery 8/1) no need to shake in your boots...unless your shaking your booty with excitement...Dr. Ortiz & everyone at OCC were wonderful!! The other ladies who were there having surgery the same time as me were great too...I have 3 brand new friends...I love them & can't wait to reunite with them!! My husband traveled with me under the agreement that if we got there & either of us had any hesitation we would leave...and since I am officially sleeved, you can know that there was none! When Dr. Ortiz came in pre-op he & my hubby got carried away talking about fishing...he was genuine as he appears in his videos, etc. he is very down to earth & honest about nutrition & the importance of nourishing ourselves...not just eating!! The nurses were nice & the other doctors were very professional!! Our recovery Dr. even brought me a Popsicle post-op...I mean what dr. has ever delivered Popsicles to patients!? You'll love OCC!! Best of luck & welcome to the family!!

Hello all! I cannot believe I'm getting sleeved Monday! I've been on a pre-op diet for nearly 2 weeks, so even if I could have a "food funeral" this weekend, I wouldn't want to. So funny to me now. Does anyone have any last minute advice of what I should do pre-surgery.... or what I should buy for when I come home from surgery? I'm planning to buy my Protein drinks/powders and liquid Tylenol. Anything else anyone has found to be helpful? Thanks!
I wore a loose fitting dress & was very comfortable going home. A pillow to put pressure on your tummy when getting in/out of the car & for the ride home is helpful! Gas-X strips...those are wonderful!
Best advice is take a positive attitude & mindset that you'll wake up ready to conquer your new life!
Oh and a name for your new tummy...mine is "Sally"
Best of luck...I am 1 week post op & the liquid diet is a mere memory!!

There are great herbal tea varieties that I have discovered! It's a nice change of pace...give them a try!

Day 5 post op - today I am really tired, after traveling yesterday. But I am working to get my fluids in & get in some activity!
I don't have much pain & my gas pains are very minimal. My phone has been going off like crazy, with a few family/friends checking on me! Which is nice. Everyone has been very encouraging!
Those is of who have surgery coming up...the best advice I can give is BE POSITIVE. Know your surgery will be a success & this IS the solution for your life in the long term!
Keep a positive attitude & you will do great! Know the anxiety will subside & so will pre-op diets & gas pains!

2 days post-op & drain is out! I feel great & have a renewed sense of freedom! While I will have to eat within limitations of the sleeve, there is no urge to eat all of those things that once helped me gain 100+ lbs. that were not good for my body! Had my leak test this morning & could see how small my new tummy "Sally" really is!
I was anxious right up to the time of surgery & my first thought coming out if the anesthesia was "maybe I shouldn't do this" but once awake I have no doubt in my mind this was the right choice for the rest of my life!
Pack your gas-x & prepare your mind with positive thoughts & begin to think like a sleeved person!
Best of luck to those preparing! There is a whole new attitude just around the corner!!

Hey all - never chatted much before but have been reading lots! I worked up today a sleeved woman...with my new stomach named Sally!
Good luck to each of you preparing for surgery. It's been a very positive experience for me at Obesity Control Center w/ Dr. Ortiz.
Soreness & some deep gas bubbles, but nothing unbearable. Been able to get Water, ice chips, Popsicles & broth in.
Have a great weekend!
