Getting enough liquids in?
That's a good idea!!! Funny thing is I know what I'm supposed to do but some days the liquids just won't go down. It's like being so thirsty but you just can't swallow. I hate that feeling.

5 weeks out and stuck
I meant to answer you Hkit- I ate a piece of chicken and it got stuck and I thought I was going to die. I ended up in the ER so I am scared to death of chicken and not sure when I will even try it again. I'm switching to Tofu.

5 weeks out and stuck
I also had a hiatal hernia repair and am almost 3 weeks out. I'm down 16 lbs and holding. I think at this point you are transitioning off clear liquids to purées and yogurt and different kinds of food that possibly produce a stall. But 16 lbs is nothing to balk about. That's a huge accomplishment and it will continue. Don't compare to other people. Everybody's situation is different and I do think the hernia makes a difference.

Do you take PPI for life?
Looks like I will be on them for quite a while to come. I take Nexium morning and night and even feel I need one mid day.

Does anybody eat bread?
Lol. I guess that's the whole purpose of the sleeve. But sounds funny to just eat an inch or two. Too bad you can't get a $1 - 3 inch.

Does anybody eat bread?
I'm just wondering if a sandwich with bread is in my future ever again? My mom who had gastric bypass almost 9 years ago eats bread rice potatoes anything she wants like normal. So I was just wondering if there are veteran sleevers out there that can tolerate bread?

Liquid meds...
Everything is so grossly sweet. I can only drink plain water & tea because there is too much sweet in everything. I finally just cut my pills with a pill cutter. The Nexium granules I can handle those arent sweet. But I'm not sure what to do about ll the vitamins. I'm hoping my palate will change again to tolerate some of this stuff. I'm thinking I of just getting injections for everything problem solved. If the doc will prescribe.

Post-op hospital stay
I got sleeved 10 days ago. You'll need socks slippers and a robe. You'll be walking. If you are close I would bring a pillow. I went to MX so wasn't going to drag my pillow all the way over there, but sure missed it.

Vitamins are making me sick
When I was in Mexico I purchased the B12 injections. You don't need a script and can just get them at the pharmacy. I give my self an injection and it's a life saver.

Did I have surgery?
That is GREAT! I think it is normal!! You are not supposed to have problems. I have tons of problems but I think it's because of the hiatal hernia repair and non compliance on my part. But you are truly blessed to be able to gulp with no pain. I sure wish I could.

Fear of food... Moving away from purees
I am absolutely scared to death to try solid foods. I are a small piece of chicken on day 3 like an idiot and the memories of the pain are so vivid I don't think I want to eat solids again. So I understand. Let us know how it goes.

Thursday Fun--Does your sleeve have a nickname?
You know what a good idea!!! This may be the key to lighten up the misery at times. Good idea. Now I have to come up with a name!!

2 days post op
Oooh I know how you feel. Take your PPI it's very important and use the heating pad on your chest and do your breathing exercises. In through the nose out through the mouth, etc. walking helps, but it's not possible to constantly walk. I actually had to go to the ER on day 4 to get relief. If you have pain meds take em. It's painful but it does get better.

Constant burping?
I so wish I could burp!!! I think burping is a big relief. I sip water then little bubbles come out, very annoying, takes forever and a bit painful. If I could let out a burp all would be over and done with and on to the next sip. Haha!

frustrated
I would like to be able to drink a bottle of water like I used to - to hydrate myself. Drinking just one ounce is painful.

3 days post-op
My doc said to get OTC Prilosec. Walking is the only sure thing. GasX does nothing for acid.

Checking in
I also have a horrible headache almost everyday. My doc said it may be caffeine withdrawals since I was a heavy 3 or 4 cup of coffee drinker a day.

Heartburn
The 27th? Of Feb? Too soon for food.

Heartburn
They went down my throat with the camera and thought something might be in there, but they found nothing and just said it was swollen. I did have a hiatal hernia repair but this is miserable.
