  6. I need your thoughts on this. My Dr told me I can start eating tuna or chicken salad if I want. Based on my food guide he and my nut gave me Im not suppose to start soft foods for another 2 1/2 weeks. Im tempted to give it a try but afraid I will get sick and puke. What do you guys think, would you try it early if your Dr told you it was ok?
  7. You are in my prayers, sending you good vibes and wishing you a speedy recovery!
  8. I hated protein shakes as well until I started my puree foods stage. I now make protein smoothies with fruit and its so yummy! Of course cant use berries or anything with seeds, but theres plenty of fruits you can use.

  10. I also had a hiatal hernia repair along with my sleeve surgery. The first few days postop I barely had 16oz of Water and like 1-2oz of yogurt or liquids at a time. It took be almost 2 weeks to finally get 64oz of liquids in. So dont worry its normal what your going thru. I wish you a speedy recovery and best of luck on your wls journey. I know you dont see it now but as the days progress it will get easier, trust me. Im 2 1/2 weeks postop and 19lbs down.

  13. Has anyone gotton their period yet and checked to see if they gained/lost or remained the same weight on the scale? My Dr told me I would gain during my period due to Water weight as normal. Just curious if any of you have had your monthly already and what happened to you.

  15. Melodica That is one thing I am afraid of, is when I start eating soft foods and boom off to the toilet I go. I hate throwing up. I hope your doing better with your puree foods now. Eventually we will be able to eat all the yummy solid foods we use to eat. Have a great weekend folks!
  16. So........today was my 1st followup since surgery 2 weeks ago. All went well, Dr said Im losing as expected. He did tell me to stop weighing myself almost every day lol So Im going to try my best to only weigh myself once a week as per his recommendation. He also said since Ive been doing really good with puree foods I can gradually start soft foods next week. I dont know if I wanna do that just yet. I rather stick it out a little longer. If I do try soft foods I wont be eating it everyday. I want to lose as much as I can in my first 3 months. My ideal goal is to lose 50lbs by my bday is August, so Ive 31lbs more to go!
  17. Good to hear it wasnt a leak Bluesea...hope you feel better soon.
  18. Sending prayers and good vibes your way Bluesea.
  19. Josh I know exactly how you feel. I had the same exact problem the first week, I would feel so bloated and uncomfortable. What changed for me is I changed the flavor to vanilla and now I make it into a smoothie with certain fruits that I can eat now at this stage. Ask your Dr or Nut what fruits your allowed to have once your on the pureed food stage. Trust me making these smoothies are the best. Let me know what your Dr says and I can always give you my simple yummy recipes.
  20. I eat when Im hungry, Im not sure if its the right way. I will have to find out tomorrow with my Dr for my 2 weeks postop visit. I eat about 3x daily. Protein and water is most important.
  21. Thats awesome results! Best of Luck on your journey! Im currently on a 5 day stall, Im 2 weeks postop. Ive lost a total of 19lbs, but I know theres a light at the end of the tunnel!
  22. Hi Meesh! Yes it is very normal to stall in your first month. My surgeon and nut both told me I would stall for many reasons, not enough Protein intake, body trying to catch up and adjust with the rapid weight loss or when you change your stage in foods. The plataeu can last 2-4 weeks so dont panic! Continue following the diet and you will be fine. I am 2 weeks postop and I have been at a stall for 5 days already, Ive lost total of 19lbs. Good Luck on your journey!!!
  23. Im 2 weeks postop, the first week was the hardest and now I can drink water normal. I can take a couple sips at a time and drink a whole 16oz bottle within 30-45 mins. It will get easier. Good Luck on your journey!
  24. My nut and surgeon told me 60-80 grams daily. I just reached 80 today finally! Im 2 weeks postop.
