  1. @@hrhlaurie - My feelings were very similar to yours - I kept thinking, maybe I don't need to have the surgery, maybe this time will be different - but I also kept coming back to I couldn't do it on my own before.

I was sleeved on Tuesday, got up and started walking within two hours and was able to come home late Wednesday afternoon. Mostly cramps and gas pains at first but they've pretty much gone now.

Amazing that I am not hungry at all - especially since my intake has been so low. I got one shake in yesterday.

  2. same surgery date- similar schedule... Just different requirements probably

I could have scheduled my surgery ealier - probably Late April / Early May but I had a pre-sechduled business trip and a college graduation to get through in early - mid May - so we elected to wait until the end of the month,

    May 27th Surgery Day!

I have Horizon BCBS of NJ

  4. They are a litle sweet / funky tasting but inexpensive - once you get used to them they are not bad and it's just a few seconds each day.

These were ok'd & recomended by my NUT. She said I could buy more expensive ones but that they have the same Vitamins and minerals in them.

Besides the flinstone did you have to take any other supplements with it?

I also take sublingual B12 and chewable Calcium Citrate - both directed buy my NUT

  5. Regular Kids chewable - just that I take 2 per day

Are they nasty? Lol... I have a weak stomach an in a little worried about throwing up. Does it have that chalky feel on your teeth an in ur mouth?

  6. The next time someone says your WLS was "the easy way out" , have them compare it with something like dental surgery or braces. They could have a mouthful of problems for the rest of their life, or they could have dental surgery or braces so that they could have a normal , healthy life . Which would they choose ?? Every single time they make a decision on ANYTHING, ask them if they chose the easy way or the hard way. Did choosing the "easy" way make them "lazy" ??? I dont think so ??? It takes hard work and dedication to make WLS work for anybody ! WLS is simply a tool, just like braces , etc. Good luck !

Well said - l really like this analogy, it cuts right to the point

  7. I am scheduled for my VSG surgery on May 27th - my wife currently has a band (3 yrs) but is meeting with the same surgeon I am going to on the 21st for her first visit to talk about a Band to Sleeve revision - she is having problems no being able to keep things down.

Exactly - we thought going through this together would help support each other.

I am still pre-op with a surgery date scheduled for May 27th.

Dr. Rainville and the center have been great so far. the Center has been very organized and have kept the process moving forward smoothly.
