  1. Hi

I had my surgery on the 18th of Febraury, I am doing okay, I have a hard time getting all my Water and Protein in. I am on a soft food diet but the nurse says to pull back a bit. I am still experiencing a lot of gagging and nausea. As of right now I am sick, upper respiratory infection. It seems to me that I have had this "cold" for weeks now. Does your immune system weaken usually after surgery? I am officially down 33 pounds and I am excersing on a treadmill and a bicycle, 3 days a week and almost always feel winded after wards. My moods have been better and I don't need the occasional early afternoon nap I use to need. good luck to everyone!!

  2. I had my surgery on the18th of febraury and a day later got my period. then this month around "my time" nothing is happening. Thanks for the original post because I was wondering the same thing. I am definitely getting on birth control soon, does it matter what birth control you have with WLS?

  3. I had surgery almost 4 weeks ago and I woke up this morning feeling like someone banged my head against the wall a few times. My head is killing me, this is the worst Migraine I have ever dealt with. I also have a runny nose/eyes, sore throat, and it feels like a slight fever. I talked to my pharmacist and she recommended a sinus pressure/allergy med, I have taken 2 in the last 5 hours and I feel no relief at all. Is this something should I call my PCP or the surgeon?? I just don't want this "cold/flu" to interfere with my recovery from having the sleeve, I haven't been able to drink a lot of fluids today or eat a lot. I don't want to get dehydrated. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

  4. I'm 3 weeks out and I'm on pureed/full liquids. I can't stomach the Protein Drinks. I have even tried the natural unflavored powder, it leaves a nasty after taste and I about get sick, the only thing that I can get down right now is yoplat blended coconut yogurt. Even Water gives me the uneasy feeling, is this normal to only steer in one direction of foods? My other to go to is Jello but that has no Protein.< /p>

  5. usually for me its more of "hey your bored or stressed, go get something to eat", not nomore, I only eat when I am truly hungry, when I can feel the pit of my stomach empty and it growls at me, I sometimes also get hunger headaches. I am 3 weeks out and can only eat half of a greek yogurt or half a bowl of cream of wheat then I get this full feeling in my stomach. I swear my house has never been cleaner with all this boredom, I can not wait until the nicer weather. I need to find a hobby

  6. I had my 2 week post check up on Monday, I have lost a total of 24 pounds since the 24th of febraury, and I was so flabbergasted I forgot to ask my surgeon the most important question I had on my mind. when can I start exercising? I know your supposed to exercise daily but at what extent? treadmill? bicycle? I mean, what can I do? I would love to go to the gym tomorrow because working out really does change your perspective of the day...just need some ideas? when did you start exercising?

  7. I have medicare and had my surgery about 2 weeks ago, I know if you attend a seminar in your region then they should be able to go through all the insurance details with you. I know with me you had to have at least one morbid health condition(mine was diabetes) but the conditions can range from depression to heart disease. hope this helps

  8. hey I feel the same way, sometimes I get so tired, I can sleep for hours in the day, kinda hard when you have 3 kids. boy do I love my sleep now, never take it for granted again. somedays I feel wonderful and don't need a nap but other day s I feel like someone kicked the wind right out of me. it is normal, like they said above you just had major surgery so your body is still getting use to all your changes. take time for yourself

  9. hi, I just had my surgery on feb 18th and I am having trouble increasing my Protein intake, I have been doing the thinned yogurts, skim milk, protein shakes/mixes, but it doesn't seem like I am reaching my doctors goal of 60-70 grams per day. When I drink anything, it seems like I am only drinking 1 to 2 ounces at a time, maybe not even that. I do feel tired all the time but the doctor said it was normal because of the diet I am on. Does anyone have any advice or suggestions that may help "up" my intake??

  10. I was sleeved on the 18th and I woke up in the ICU? I was allergic to the anaesethic( cant spell it). anyone else have this happen to them? I guess I was paralyzed and it took almost 6 hours for the sedative to wear off. I woke up with a breathing tube down my throat, boy, was I scared. So far, I have been doing okay, I get food cravings still, I know I have enough will power to say no to my cravings and I do but my brain is still saying to me, hey your bored...go find something to eat. what do you do then? ive been keeping myself busy by cleaning mostly. my incisions are looking really good, I just wonder how the inside is doing. Just wanted to drop a few lines, Im new to this forum and wanting to make some new weight loss friends....
