Hey Erin. I read your thread. Didn't your surgeon go through any if this with you? I'm gonna take the time to answer all of your questions. I'm on the 21st too!! We can go through it together!

Good morning Rhonda!! You really have some amazing strength to have gone through what you have and come out the other side. Good for you. I heard day 3-5 are the worst for the pre op but after that hump it can go relatively smooth. What part of Canada are you from? I have LOTS of family in Montreal. Love visiting too!! And when's your surgery?

I thought there should be no yellow puss. That's what my nurse said. I would wait till morning if you can tolerate but then first thing call them. Better safe than sorry. Let us know how it goes!

Hi rosa!! You're like the mother hen!! First one of us April sleevies!!! Hope you're feeling ok and are taking it easy!! Let us know how you're doing!!

We are all in this together!!! Hey. My NUT said be careful of the muscle milk. Needs to be the "low carb" one. I was drinking the regular and she said that's a big no no.
I gotta get to BJs. Everyone talks about getting from there. Anyone tried Chikes? Heard about it and they said it was good.

My suggestion is not to stock up on too much Protein. One of the things I have heard from many vets is that your taste changes after the surgery. The foods that tasted good just before the surgery might not be pleasant to you after, including the Protein Shake you had just days before. You'll have time to buy protein after your surgery because you won't drink it right away. Places like GNC and Vitamin Shop give samples, so I suggest trying that post-op. I started my pre-op yesterday and am having surgery on the 9th. I'm converting from band to sleeve, so this diet is nothing new to me, but still a challenge. I am just staying focused on having a tiny liver and a successful surgery. :-) Good luck everyone!
Great advice. I like the muscle milk low carb now but I don't know what it's going to be like after. Also people stock up too much that it ends up expiring. Good luck with your conversion. Lol.

I can believe we start our preop next week!!! I already cut out coffee sugar white carbs and fried foods. I couldn't trust myself doing only preop. I am so excited there are so many of us for the 21st!!!

Hey everybody, I was originally an April sleever, but my date was moved up to March 26th. Surgery went well and yes I woke up sleeved. Besides the removal of my lap band and scar tissue, I found out my band was slipped afterall and that I had a hernia ( none of that showed on the upper gi). I'm so happy with my decision to get sleeved. Im on liquid diet and can't wait for 2nd stage liquids tomorrow! Congrats to everyone doing this too. Let's go on this journey and adventure together!
Hey stars! Good to hear they caught all that and you're all fixed! How's the pain? Any issues or words of wisdom?

All I am no longer an April sleeved I'm a May sleevers! I got my date!!! MAY 7th!!!!
Hey Stephanie that's great!!! Wish we has the same date but close enough!! How psyched are you!!!

Now that I don't have any tests to worry about or more appointments I feel the time is CRAWLING by. It's killing me. I start my preop the 7th. Nervous about how well I'm gonna stick to it. Some people gave a three day preop. How can I get me some of that!!
-
Hi all. Thought I would start and specific date thread so we can keep tabs on each other. I'm going to RE-introduce myself by pasting a previous post. Hope we can all get to know each other and provide support!!
My name is Sabrine and I am 36 yrs old. I am married for six years now. I've been having weight issues all of my life. Highest weight ever in high school was 374 pounds. Then I lost 200 pounds using ephedra. Once they yanked that off the shelves I slowly gained most of the weight back. Starting this journey December 30, 2013 my weight was 326 pounds. Began going to all of my doctors appointments and my preoperative tests. And I made my own personal lifestyle changes in preparation for the sleeve. Current weight is 279 pounds. My date is April 21, 2014. I have no home support for this whatsoever. My husband is against it as well as my sisters and my mother. I'm nervous scared and excited. I have two amazing kids Jackson is four and Olivia is 15 months. I'm having some serious second thoughts about this since I am losing weight and seeing results. I think I've bitched about it to anybody who will listen. Lol. Okay. Now it's somebody else's turn. What's your story???

Yeah. I think fear is a big part.
I'm an emotional wreck not knowing if I am doing the right thing. This is definitely the hardest thing I've ever done. This site is great support and knowledge. Thank god I found it! -

I am in the same exact boat as you. I'm April 21st. I have 2 little kids too and I wonder if I'm being too selfish.

Will do! I hadn't pooped in 5 days and did a little last night, and it was white. I took some milk of magnesia and will see what happens. I'll also be calling my docs office Monday. I googled it, and got everything from don't worry about it to OMG you're gonna die. Hahahaha. I'll report back with any answers I get.
just hoping someone has had I have happen before and knows what's going on.
SJ, your posts both crack my ass up and enlighten me on things to come. Getting sleeved April 21st!!
