  1. I will have it removed before I leave the hospital. They want to make sure they do not have to stick me and have a hard time finding a vein,. This way they can take blood give meds all from one place. I am getting ready to head out. I live in GA but home is TN Nashville. Have a great day everyone.

GOOD LUCK TNPEACH!!! So happy and excited for you. Please let us know how you're dong when you feel up to it!!

  2. I guess when you are physically unhealthy. Diabetes HBP. But of course being overweight to a point that it hinders your existence and those around you. I was projecting and I'm sorry. I feel if I was at a place like really low 200's I wouldn't chance the surgery. I have 2 kids and need to be a better example for them

I really hope I didn't offend you. Everyone has their personal struggles and I promise I meant it sincerely.

  3. Im the girl to the right These are pics of me thinner. I want this back! And smaller.

Honestly it doesn't seem like you need wls. I don't mean that in an insensitive way. I am sure your struggles are real. I looked at the pics you posted from the dr office and I think you look great. I know happiness is for the individual and what I think means squat if you're not happy but I wanted to share with you.

  4. And let's face it, I'm thinking we all have fatty livers. Please for the sake of peace of mind I would do a week of preop and fasting the day before surgery. If anyone wants an example PM me and I can send you my preop. It is sooo worth doing and not impossible to follow

  5. Hey ya'll!! (First post ever) I just got my insurance approval for the sleeve surgery. Many mixed emotions! Surgery date is scheduled for July 9th. I look forward to chatting with you all and sharing experiences. :)

Hey mermer! I'm July 9th too! I'm going crazy with the waiting. Welcome to our little party here. Best of luck and success!!!

  6. $15,000 is huge! I don't know about you guys but when I lost my first 200 pounds back in 2004 my insurance company paid for my Tummy Tuck bc I was getting skin infections. You can totally ask your dr to submit for authorization as long as it's documented that it is a medical necessity. That's what in going for again after I lose my weight.

  7. I just finished all of my pre requisites for surgery. I have my last monthly weigh in on July 8th and then July 25th surgery. Wow 6 months of every test you can think of! They really put us through the ringer! I just left the chest xray place and took my before pic ewwwww say goodbye to this girl. Forever!

Congrats!! You've been waiting for so long for a date. Can't wait to see how we all do!

  8. I was originally scheduled to have my surgery on June 16, but unfortunately it just got changed to July 3. I was already more than halfway through the two-week liquid diet so I'm beyond disappointed. Now I'm supposed to go back to eating food for two weeks (although not too much of course) and then resume the liquid diet for at least a week before surgery. Much harder than just getting it over with! I'm 5'3 and -- at the moment, ie post-liquid diet -- about 270 lbs. Age 50, married, mom of a 10 year old, in case there are others similarly situated.

So sorry juliarg. That really is so disappointing but you have to think everything happens for a reason. I canceled my first surgery for April 21st. I came to my senses and reschedule July 9th. What was the doctors reason for the change?

You're joining a great group here!!!

  9. I'm going for the wrist so not too bad an area and ummmm YEAH I am def having my rolls removed once I lose all the weight so I won't be getting a tat inside my thighs or my boobs. Lol

Just tried for a consult at three places and it's a wait list of three months!!! (Sorta like wls!!). What's the deal w that!

  10. post-205946-0-77953100-1402449683_thumb.jpg

So I already have this one. Got it for the first 50 pounds I lost of the 200 in total I lost back in 2004. I have gained about 100 back!!!

Anyone know if I can get a tattoo before surgery? Is there a risk factor I'm missing?

  11. Nice! They hurt but they're worth it. :) I've been in a lot more pain anyway - so these are easy peasy.

I am going to get a wrist tattoo of an infinity symbol w my children's name in it. Wanted to get it before surgery but I don't know if I'm allowed. So how much does a wrist tat hurt??

  12. Sabrine, thanks so much for the kind words. I think I could have easily gained 100 pounds, except my knees wouldn't have held me at that point and I would have really been a mess then! There are so many people I see on here that have so little control, to meet someone who has so much is really refreshing! You are working so hard, it'll be a much easier transition for you than most when it comes to control! All my tests are done, I have about one more session of therapy and I think I got it part finished, there is nothing undone. I have had the sleep study, stress test, echocardiograms, blood work (although there will be more at the two week before timeline), psych eval (with some therapy following). Everything was done before they would give me a date. So now I have six and a half weeks to hold my own, continue to striving to exceed the 64 oz. of Water I drink per day right now, wean myself off caffeine, do smaller meals, and hopefully the knee shots that start tomorrow will work and get some exercise in before surgery. Then the two week pre-op diet and onward. What are your plans for the next 10 weeks?

Hey Susan. So sorry for the late response. I didn't see your reply!! I can tell summer is here bc I've broken out the blender and got some tan lines! I've been fighting the same 5 pounds fie the last month. I get down to 260 by Friday. Then we have piña coladas and sausage patties all weekend and in back to 265 by Monday. Work my ass off all week only to repeat the ritual. But knowing that after 3 weeks I start my preop I am not going to beat myself up about it. I've lost 65 pounds thus far I am going to allow myself the three weeks of summer darn it! That's my plans for the remainder. Since I've already done this, I already know how my preop goes. Sooo important to pick a shake you like. My fav is EAS carb control. Got my Soups already. Just playing the waiting game which stinks. I keep thinking if I hadn't canceled the first time I'd be 6 weeks out by now. My own fault. So in the meantime we all can keep each other company!! Anyone plan on attending the new charter meetings the site is promoting?

  13. Feeling guilty for not being able to stop sodas. I have surgery in less than two months. I can go a day without My Precious and then I have one...then two....maybe three cokes. Im becoming more active so im down a couple pounds but eating crap food too often. Why do I snack while reading especially if im reading about weight loss? Gotta get ahold of my eating habits. My dr office has behavior modification classes but they dont start until after surgery.

I completely understand. I was a soda fiend but knowing how dangerous it was after surgery I sorta just cut it cold turkey. I haven't had any since December. RARELY I will allow if I'm having a rum and diet coke. Maybe switch to diet first then slowly cut it out.

I snack too...cheezits are my weakness. I can eat a whole box and not realize it until I'm hitting plastic. It's terrible. Something I started to do was measure out a serving and put the box AWAY! Do you have a date yet?
