I am April 21st too...I'm having second thoughts...anyone else?

Hi all. Thanks so much for all the kinds words and advice. I've been a wreck for the last three days. So after a lot of crying and soul bearing, he's given me his blessing to go ahead with April 21st. He still doesn't agree with me doing it and thinks I am putting myself before my children but I know once he sees results and sees how committed I am he'll understand. His whole point was I've lost 40 pounds in 3 months without surgery why can't I just keep going? I don't have an answer for him. Knowing that I'm working towards the sleeve gives me the strength to continue. I don't know if that makes any sense but in my head it does. And he's been dieting with me this past month. He's lost 20 pounds so he's supportive that way but about the surgery he doesn't think it's worth the risk. So our compromise is: I continue for the next 30 days trucking along and really give it my all. And if I'm not satisfies with the results I get to have surgery. If I've lost more weight and feel as if I can continue on this path and happy with the results then I'll postpone. What's marriage without compromise??? So for now...I'm an April sleevers!

Guess I won't be joining you guys yet. My hubby has a real problem with me doing this surgery. I think I need to postpone. So I'm crying and really upset about this. My emotions are really getting the best of me that I want to stuff my face. What should I do???

No, he is not a happy camper at all. I'm gonna be out of commission and the fighting makes it hard to be excited.

I forgot the endoscopy!! I must say I enjoyed the anesthesia a lot. Lol. So painless and quick!!

So I needed a stress test, EKG , pulm function, sleep study, heart and abdominal sono, venous Doppler, psych eval, nut appt, and finally PCP medical clearance. And I was told that this is the standard. If you're not required, GOD BLESS bc they are a pain in the ass but I would make sure!!

So I think they make you go through all of the pre op hoops for 2 reasons. One obviously to make sure your healthy enough for it but also to see if you "drop out". The more they put in my way of letters and clearances the more determined I was to get a darn date!! And the further along I got, the more I learned about myself and proved (at least to myself) that I have faith in ME. I am going to succeed and so will you. Yea, surgery is a risk and I panic that things could go bad and what about my kids??? But at the same time I want to inspire them to be healthy and set a good example. I am no good to them fat. You can do this. We all can.

So I'm done with all the hoops and juggling. Just need to get my "medical" clearance. Did all of the tests in a 2 week span. Just need to get that call from my surgeon for a darn date!! I feel like it's been forever. I wish us all good luck!!! We can do this!

Amen to that!!!! My hubby is the same way. You're fat??...don't eat.... That's his solution. Of course he's not as callous as that but that's what I hear. I don't have any support for those that I would expect to. My mom and sisters only see the complications not the good. I thank god for this site and other people who just GET what I'm going through!

I did a clean up. I kept only the basics. The last time I lost a lot of weight (gained it all back) I didn't do a clean up and felt it was ok to have them to fall back on. New you new start. I feel like I'm a newborn. My surgery is mid April and I've lost 25 pounds already on my own. Can't wait for the surgery. Purging is good for the soul!! Screw size 24!!! You'll be buying 10's soon enough! Good luck

You are FINE!! Did you have the whole bag? I doubt it. Get your head back in the game and focus in your goals. Remember why you're going through all of this. Aldo remember this feeling of panic the next time you feel like going off course. You are going to do fine. If you're super worried call your surgeon. See what they say. Let us know how you're doing!!

I am experiencing the same thing. My mom is so not supportive. She's worried about complications and says I should lose the weight naturally. I'm done doing diets and failing. My hubby and sisters also don't have my back. I'm going to my psych and nut appointment tomorrow then I get a date. Insurance already approved and all tests are done. I had no 6 month requirements. Just wish I had someone to rely on for support. I'm terrified. I've got 2 kids that are my life. I'm doing this for them to have a mom they can be proud of. So I can care for them the way they should be cared for. I don't want them to remember me like this...too fat to play on the floor with them.
