I'm 55 and had surgery 1-13-14. Highest wt 515 surgery wt 448 today's wt 400. Goal 250. Only complications for me has been transition from full liquids to soft food. I get very nauseated especially in the mornings. I'm presently pureeing my food for a while. I'm glad I did it. Will be Evan happier when I get to goal. Good luck to you

I am 5 weeks out and I have sleep apnea, I am also a Respiratory Therapist who specializes in obstructive sleep apnea. The others have nailed it, sleep apnea is a reason to do the surgery not stop it. The difference is your RDI (respiratory distress index) is less than 15. This usually means your apnea doesn't require treatment and most insurance companies won't pay for Cpap or Bipap equipment unless RDI exceeds 15. Of course all insurances are different as are all doctors. In any case your apnea appears to be very mild. Good luck with your surgery
