    who has a blog?

Love your Fatgirldivesin blog. Your month-by-month photos are incredible! http://fatgirldivesin.blogspot.co.uk/2014/03/one-year-later-and-then-some.html?m=1 How are you finding hunger levels at more than one year out? And can you eat most foods, just smaller portions?
  2. Personally I don't believe it's "lazy doctors who won't give aftercare". They get paid for this, so there is no reason not to do it. I appreciate other people may have different views or experiences .

  4. I dont know tour personal situation or what's right for you. Only you can decide that. Have a look at the "band to sleeve conversion" forum on here. It's in the "main gastric sleeve" forums. There are plenty if people there who are having conversions. Either because they haven't lost weight with the band or they've had a serious complication. I had a serious complication with the band, had to have it removed and would never have a band again. It was unfortunate as I had very good weight loss with the band. I've now regained all the weight back

Why did you choose the Sleeve?

Hi Zuzupetals Good luck with your journey. I see you've chosen the sleeve. I will share my experience. Right now I feel like I've failed. I had a band and it worked well for 10 years and I got to a normal BMI! Oh joy, true joy. But then band has failed (it failed mechanically, so had to be taken out). Without the band Ive regained weight and am back up to an obese BMI again, which I am finding really frustrating as I'd been at a healthy BMI for so long. Now I want to get revision surgery to sleeve gastrectomy. I am waiting each day to get a surgery date confirmed. I wish I was postop. I am struggling with weight gain and feeling frustrated and demoralised. I so want to get a chance to turn things around with a sleeve.

Best decision I have ever made

Wow, you're incredible! How soon after surgery did you start running 3 miles a day, doing kickboxing and insanity? I'm STILL preop and feeling frustrated by the wait and uncertainty. Keep up your great work. It's inspiring. Thank you for positing.

    fears...

Oh, I think I know that fear feeling.., The fear of failing after surgery. Like you, I'm worried about making it work postop. I should be ok. I've had the band before and The fear of having more surgery after failed band (mechanical failure after I lost 100%EWL) The fear of not having surgery and getting more obese. The fear of getting type 2 diabetes and heart problems and joint problems if I don't get surgery, The fear of the general anaesthetic. The fear of leaving my children orphaned. The fear of having run out of options. The fear of wearing a bathing costume. I live swimming, but I hate, hate, hate wearing one now :-( The fear of getting to the operating table and running away - I know that sounds ridiculous, but it's how it feels sometimes. Even with all these fears I'm trying to hold my nerve and have surgery when I get my date. I hope you conquer you fears. Don't give up! Post here and get support if it helps :-)

  22. Do you mind if I ask what type of urogynaecology surgery you had? Thank you
  23. Would any of you join a "Ban the Band" campaign? See thread re this - http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/298838-ban-the-band-campaign-stop-unecessary-deaths-harm/
  24. Good idea &lapnicky Why don't you start a campaign for this? I can't believe the band is still being inserted into people. Read this : http://www.weightlosssurgery.ca/why-is-adjustable-gastric-band-surgery-no-longer-offered/ Weight loss surgery centre in Canada say: "We no longer offer adjustable gastric banding as a bariatric surgery option because we see too many patients referred to us from all over Canada, in addition to those in our own practice, in whom the gastric band failed to achieve the desired results or produced life threatening complications 5-10 years after the surgery."
