    Is this too much?

I think they look great on you! They are not tight and revealing so I think they are most appropriate for our age. Color is a matter of individuality. I love the color. my wardrobe has been mainly black for the last 5-8 years,(For obvious slimming reasons, not really by choice). i may buy a colored pair of jeans myself one day down the road. Two thumbs up! : )

    God is good

Yay for you! Well you already have God on your side, nothing to be nervous about. I prayed that if this was a tool for me then He'd make it possible....And did He ever!!! The surgery has been a real blessing to me. I'm off my BP medicine! Be joyful and encouraged!! : )

Okay Ladies - Let's talk skin!

This has all been so encouraging from the postings to the pictures! I as well have worried about the excessive skin. I am 47, have over 150 pounds total to lose, I moisturize like crazy, try to tone when I can. I've been married for 27 years so the way I see it, he's already seen me at my worst! I am big but evenly proportioned so I think this eases my mind. Thank you everyone for the input and thank you Butterflyeffect for asking. Keep up the great work everyone!!

    Physical

I never had to have a physical, but my surgeon did have bloodwork taken, plus an endoscopy to see if everything looked good to go prior to scheduling the surgery. I also had to write any medications or ailments on a form every office visit I had. Congrats on the date! You should be excited! : )

    So far So good

Horray for you! You sound like you are doing wonderful! I went back to work after 1 week post op and wished I would have taken 2 weeks. Not because I needed it physically, but it was nice to have the break! : )

Day 3 post op- need support friends!

I was only able to have a half a shake and that was barely sipping it. I hope you recover quickly. I only had neasea my first 2 days after surgery and have been GREAT ever since. Did they send neasea medicine home with you? Perhaps that, or even the GasX strips that dissolve under the toungue would help. I am finding once in a while I seem to have "air" trapped in my system and the strips relieve it. That could be causing some of the neasea. I'm quite confident it is only temporary for you. : )

  10. Wow...130's? My doctor set my goal at 180 and I'm 5'4". He said that would be a healthy goal weight and if I wanted to go lower that was up to me. It sounds like you are doing fabulous so far and you are on the right track! Just keep up the great work. A number on the scale is just that, a number on the scale. : )
  11. That is so cool!! Two thumbs up for you!! Keep up the great work and thank you for sharing. Seeing others success is encouraging!

    Caffeine?

I was told pre-op to give up beverages with caffeine, carbonation, and sugar. I was told last week I can have my coffee back. My first thought was Yay!!! Then it hit me how great I have felt and my skin looks amazing. People are asking if I switched my make up! I don't know which one of the 3 was the culprit, but I've decided to continue the healthy regimen. And trust me, I was a coffee freak and loved an occasional Diet Coke! Just do what you feel is right for you. : )
  14. I too only lost 1 pound when I hit my 4th week. my nutritionist told me to quit weighing every day or I was not going to experience the full joy of my efforts. She said I lost so much in a short time and my body is trying to hold on to what I got. She said ditch the scale or only weigh once in a while. Meantime keep doing what I'm supposed to and give it time. That was this past Friday. I am not weighing myself daily anymore and I feel as great mentally as I do physically now. Keep up the great work and you will see the rewards! Look how great you've done so far!!
  15. I had been on Lisonipril for 3 years. A month prior to my surgery date,1/23/14 they started me on the pre-op diet. I dropped 32 pounds right off the bat. One Sunday morning, I passed out. I immediately thought it was my diet. Wrong! I had low BP!! Just those 32 pounds made that big of a difference. They took me off my medicine BEFORE the surgery and I have felt great ever since. I have lost 45 pounds total and I am anxious for my next weigh in! I truly believe you will have success and your BP will get better. Best Wishes!

    Day 7

You are doing super!! It's still hard for me to get in all the pureed Protein and veggies I'm supposed to have. Many times I don't since I am so full.... I started my journey with the nutritionist in August 2013. I have lost 45 pounds total. 13 pounds since my sleeve 1/23/14. I feel great! I am off my blood pressure medicine and that really makes it all worthwhile. I have weighed the same weight since Sunday so I'm getting a little frustrated. However I am choosing to dwell on how good I feel. Plus people are really starting to notice.
  17. Today makes 4 weeks since my surgery and I have weighed the same all week. I walked more, upped my Water, and done all the tips to shake it up a bit. Nothing. scale is not budging. However, I feel sensational!! Iv'e lost 45 pounds total since last June and only 13 since my surgery 1/23/14. Concentrate on how you feel & not the scale number. I know it's hard to do! : )

    Breaking A Weight Loss Plateau

Thank you Jean! I'm bad about weighing EVERY DAY. Sometimes twice a day. I have often asked God why I wasn't blessed with patience. Obviously my weight is a tool he's using to help me develop my patience. Your article is very well written and encouraging. Meanwhile, this girl is just going to keep enjoying her journey and reaping the healthy benefits!

Lose It! or My Fitness Pal ?

I am a huge fan of MFP. I use it on my phone, my tablet, and my work computer. It depends where I'm at and what I'm doing. You can control your settings and it tracks everything for you. I have even printed my pages a time or two. However, to be fair, I don't know anything about LoseIt!
  20. Alex, Thank you so much for posting this article. I had my surgery 3 weeks ago and I have only told the closest of my family, friends, and co-workers. The better I feel, the more I have been wanting to come out and tell people. Now people are starting to notice and I don't want to lie. Slowly I have been telling people when they ask what I am doing. I also have that fear that people will think it's the easy way out, when in reality it's been one of the hardest, but most rewarding things I have ever done. This article may just have been the extra boost I was looking for! Afterall, everyone I have told has been super excited and supportive of me! Plus,if some people are just deprived of info on WLS and think it's an easy fix, I may just be the one to educate them!
