  1. Can I be the only person who has failed a two weight loss surgeries??? Had lap band and lost 100 pounds. Switched to the sleeve in Sept and lost 40 pounds. But, I have lost nothing in the last 3-4 months....in fact I have gained 15 pounds. I am almost back to my surgery date weight. WTF?? Can I be re-sleeved??? I can eat moderate amounts of food and obviously is doing that. But, I feel hungry most of the day. What is this pouch test/diet I am seeing a few mentions about? I feel like a complete failure and that I will never be an "acceptable" size.

  2. I have to agree with Humpty Dumpty. I think the sooner you remove the fibroid, the better. What are the chances that the fibroid could turn malignant? What about it continuing to grow in size? Plus, if you were to do both surgeries together, what if they have difficulty with the fibroid and can't perform the Tummy Tuck? Being in the medical profession, I have seen too much happen that could have possibly been avoided.....not to scare you, but get it taken care of as quickly as possible!!!!

  3. Well, I made it to my "goal" weight that I had set for when we went to Vegas last month. Yeah!! Plus, this was the first time in MANY years, that I did not need a seat belt extender for the flights! Yeah x 2!!!

But, I have not done well since. :( With Vegas, Christmas, and a convention all last week, I haven't lost anything since then due to all the going and excellent restaurants we have eaten at. I HAVE NOT gained, but haven't lost either.

I MUST get back on track, as we have moved up our South Africa trip from next year to this summer....so I desperately need to lose another 50 pounds (minimum) before then...that's my personal goal.

So, starting today, I have gone back to drinking my shakes, and logging my intake....as I was pre-Vegas. I have also got to get back to exercising. We have one last deer hunt starting this Friday (which consumes ALOT of time), so I am hoping on Sunday/Monday, I will be back in full swing of things again. I have even thought about doing the liquid diet again for a week to get a jump start on things.

I am now 3 months out and am noticing that I can consume a bit more than a month ago. Anyone else with the same??? I know that all the swelling and such is gone by this point...just wish I was that "tight" again!!!

So, even though I was somewhat victorious, I need to be scolded to get back on track!!!!!

  5. The revision was much worse. And, as Tiffykins stated, the port site was the sorest for me as well. I was up and going after the band the following day, it took about 5 days before I felt like I wanted to get up and go with the revision. Lots of acid, so be sure and have some Pepcid AC on hand....that was a lifesaver!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  6. I say it's your gallbladder as well!! US is not always accurate. Request to have lipase/amylase bloodwork performed (this will show liver functions, which will be elevated if the gb is at fault). Also, you can request to have an ejection fraction test performed for the GB.

Keep your head up!!! The gallbladder is a miserable thing once it starts acting up. And, with today's insurance requirements, it almost has to be at the point of bursting before they want to do preventative surgery.

  7. Hollyw --

Yes they do want you to walk every two hours, but don't come in your room and force you to get up and walk. They pretty much allow you to do it on your own. And of course, you don't have to walk during the night time. But, they do come in at 4:30 every morning to take blood and would like for you to get up and walk then. I never did!! They do the labs early so that the results are back when the doctors start making their rounds around 6:30 - 7:00.

I will warn you about the gastrograffin test you have to do the next morning following surgery. That stuff is beyond NASTY!!! To me, it tasted/smelled like liquid Pine Sol. I was having some reflux issues, and not long after it went down, it came back up...which didn't make it any better. But, other than that, everything was great!!!

Very comfortable hospital. The rooms are very spacious and seem more like a hotel than a hospital.

    Good luck!!!

  8. I agree that I have been losing much better and quicker than I was with the lap band. Just thought about the shots to help lose a few extra inches as we have a big Vegas trip coming up in December! I would love to be able to get on the plane and not need a seat belt extender....plus, I am planning a helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon for our anniversary.

KBL - I would probably bet that your friend will regain the weight. I have several friends I work with that have done the 21 days diet, lost great and have gained it all back, plus a little more. Me to boot!!!

Jordien - the HCG diet is where you take daily HCG shots and are limited to a very strict 500 calorie a day diet. You do the diet for either 21 days or a maximum of 40 days.

I am just being impatient and need to calm down. I have been working out daily, with working out twice daily at least 3 times a week.....which I haven't done that since high school when we had PE and then after shoocl sports!!!

Thanks for all the replies and encouragement!!!!

  9. Just wandering if any of you have tried the HCG injections/diet after having the sleeve. I have done the diet in the past, and with not being able to eat very much, thought it might be simple to do again. Yes, I hate the daily injections, but I did see a difference in mostly "inches" while I was on the diet.

Anyone else tried it??? Thinking about it, but not quite sure.

  10. Yes, they can. I wasn't aware that it was possible, but a lady in my sleeve education class was there for just that reason!!

She had RNY several years ago, but had developed severe ulcers. So, the plan was to swith her from the RNY to the sleeve. I was just amazed that they could do it!!

I would find a doctor who has vast experience with revisions. That would be your best bet!!

  11. I had my revision Sept 27th and couldn't be happier to be without the band. Even though I didn't have any real complications, it's extremly nice not worrying about if I eat a certain food, will it go down, where is the nearest bathroom "just in case", etc.

My son even asked me last night, mom, do you like not have to throw up all the time now? The answer is most definitely YES!!!!

    Good luck!!!!
