  1. That's awesome! I added some low fat sour cream to broth last night, it went down fine and I felt full for the first time in awhile. Ate it a bit too fast though. Congrats on your loss so far! I was sleeved 2/5/14, and as of this morning I'm down 6 pounds from when I came home. Have you tried anything more than creamed soups yet?
  2. That definitely might be it! I pooped on day 2 post op, and it helped the gas pain so much. You're definitely brave for getting ready to go back to work! What do you do?

    Bloated?

I was sleeved on the 5th of February. The bulk of my gas pain went away the second and third day. I'm a stomach sleeper, and found myself sleeping on my stomach without realizing it, which helped release the gas. I'm still bloated, but not nearly much. I've got more swelling because I ended up with a massive hematoma across my lower abdomen.
  4. That definitely sounds like gas pain. I know this is a weird question, but have you pooped since surgery?
  5. And do you get little bubbly feelings? Like you've got to burp but it's trapped in there? It's so uncomfortable. I found that walking around after eating helps that. I'm not sure about you, but I'm still fairly beat so I usually eat and then lay down, which causes that feeling. I also feel it when I take a pill. But I definitely have felt like that! I kept asking my mom why I was so damn hungry if they just took out almost my entire stomach haha.
  6. I'll try it. I'm sure if I can handle boost consistency with no problem, thinned creamed soup shouldn't be an issue.
  7. I'll have to try that, although I'm getting sick of broth too. Was thinking about straining chicken noodle soup just for a different flavor of broth. If I'm able to handle the boost/sherbet, would thinned cream soup pose a problem?

    Question

Mine is two weeks of clear, two of full, two of soft, and then regular foods. Much different than anything I've seen people go through post op. I'm having dreams of mashed potatoes.
  9. Just looking for any sleevers who share a date with me! Sleeved on 2/5, still on Clear liquids, down 6lbs so far. I'm 22, 4'10. Starting weight was 244. Erin
  10. I'm usually quick to call too! Luckily, I happen to be staying with my parents who are both in the medical field (and I am as well) so they're keeping a close eye. I really think my stomach was removed from my belly button, and that's what caused it. I don't know what else would explain it.
  11. The bruise seems to be maintaining now. It's not worse, and it's getting more green around the edges. Not sure what it's from at all. Woke up in the middle of the night and I was sleeping on my stomach. I was convinced the bruise was gonna be 10x worse from that alone.
  12. I had my lapband removed and the sleeve done in one procedure, not sure if that's playing a part.
  13. I think my bruise is a one in a million. Ironically, nothing else hurts. I'm still getting hunger pains but I think that may be due to residual gas. Just nerve wracking looking down and seeing a bruise that big!
  14. I bruise easily under normal circumstances, and before surgery was given a shot of heparin. After surgery I was given another shot of blood thinner. Both in my stomach, not sure if that's attributing to the bruises. I'm pretty sure my surgeon opted to remove my stomach through my belly button, as that incision bled the most. It's sore, but also itches which I know indicates healing. Other incisions look fine. But I will talk to my doctor if need be.
  15. I'm one day post op for the sleeve. Was sleeved yesterday morning. Was fine last night and this morning until I took off my anti-nausea sticker and had my X-ray done with barium. Felt nauseous after drinking the barium. A couple times I felt like I needed to throw up: not really nauseous, just had the sudden intense feeling of my mouth watering and needing to find a bucket. This happened again after I went for a walk, and this time I actually dry heaved. All my nurses say this is normal, as my body just went through a major change. I'm just hoping someone else has had a similar experience and can calm my nerves? I was converted from band to sleeve yesterday and all I keep thinking about is how with the band you DON'T throw up because of how dangerous it can be. Erin
  16. Those will surely do the trick! Haha maybe a little TOO well! I'm feeling good today, getting released in a little bit
  17. At least I know I'm not alone, haha. This is just such a change from the lapband. Glad to know I'm on the right track!
  18. I'm sure it's all the IV fluids, but I noticed that during the night, I was passing gas a lot. Eventually, my gas turned into diarrhea. Did anyone else have this issue? Is it normal?
  19. I went from lapband to sleeve. Many of my family members knew I had the sleeve, and also that I was having complications. I wasn't going to tell anyone that I was having sleeve at first, but I changed my mind. A lot of people in my life don't understand, but I would rather they know invade something bad were to happen, or lord forbid they think I suddenly developed an eating disorder. Surprisingly, everyone had been immensely supportive. At the end of the day. It's your body and your choices. Do what make you feel comfortable! Erin.

    Complications ?

I was just sleeved wednesday,so I may not be of any help but I will try! I went from band to sleeve. The things I first noticed were a) I could lay on either side without pain, I was nauseous and throwing up. With the band, it's very clear that throwing up is a no no, but the nurses reassured me that throwing up with the sleeve is perfectly normal. As far as complications, that is all I have so far, minus the crippling gas pain from surgery. My surgeon removed my band and performed the VSG all in one procedure.
  21. Good news! Just got another dose of pain medicine, but this time no dry heaving! Had a lot of spit in my mouth but I'll take that! Finally, I can see the better days.
  22. Thank you all for the responses. I've been loaded with everything today. Two shots of zofran, pepsid(sp?) and an anti nausea medicine that came in the form of a shot to my thigh. However, we discovered the problem was the pain medicine they have me on. Not even two minutes after it was in my IV, I was throwing up. I'm just ready for this to pass! I have no appetite to drink Water. I have to force myself. But, I know this is worth it.
  23. Hi all. First day post op. not doing too bad at all. Pain in my back as well as gas pain in my stomach but its manageable. Going soon to get an X-ray and do a barium swallow test. As long as that turns out okay I can start on liquids. Best of all, I could sleep on my side! When I got lapband, I didn't dare dream to roll on my side because I knew how badly it hurt. Excited to get this weightloss ball rolling.
  24. I'm glad I finally found the right section on here! I had the lapband in 2010, minimal weight loss, only down 40+ pounds. Dealing with nausea, vomiting, and horrible acid reflux for the last year and a half. Switching to the sleeve on Wednesday, all one procedure. Has anyone else had the switched done in one procedure? Any advice on what I can expect for pain post op, as well as the best post op diet? Also, has anyone seen better weightloss results after switching? I know that's a few questions, just trying to calm my nerves and figure everything out. Thanks! Erin
