    Worried about slow loss

I was sleeved the 5th and I'm down 15 as well. Average weightloss is 1-2 pounds a week, and you're over that easily so that's a good thing! It'll come off, it just takes time. Wait until you're cleared to start working out, it'll really start coming off then.
  2. if I can ask, what was your slider food?
  3. I'm 3 weeks out today. I'm not hungry during meals, but I am at the same time. I can't eat without nausea and i can't drink without nausea. I'm not getting fluids in because of it. I know I need to, but I get such an upset stomach that it's not worth it. I miss food. Not so much pigging out but I miss being able to eat comfortably, and I miss being able to drink water when I'm thirsty. I know I'm still healing..but please tell me this gets better. I had lapband before I switched to the sleeve, and I don't know why this is hitting me so hard.
  4. I did notice that Popsicles don't cause any upset. I had one last night and it was such a relief to have it not cause nausea.
  5. I had similar problems my first days out. It took awhile for the gas in my tummy to go away from surgery. I would drink and feel the bubbles inside, very weird feeling. In the first few days I just sipped as much as possible. I slept a lot too, so I didn't go through much liquids.
  6. do you still experience the gross slime buildup in your throat?
  7. I just can't help but worry that nausea this far out is a bad sign. I see people who are the same surgery date as me doing just fine. I picked up some pedialyte from walmart, so I can at least get some electrolytes in. Gatorade is too surgery right now and doesn't sit too well in my new tummy. Haha
  8. I have Prilosec, that helps somewhat. I also ha be zofran, but the pharmacy is out until Friday.

    22 here. Instagram?

hi there things are okay. I converted from band to sleeve so I'm somewhat used to constriction. I have found that cold fluids make me nauseous, it's gotta be room temp or warm. How about you?
  10. I go back to work tomorrow (almost three weeks out, but just getting over the flu) and I work 70 hours a week. Not as daunting as it seems, but today I was at the mall and just walking around for three hours drained the crap outta me! I ended up falling asleep during the car ride home. I'm on the mushy stage, so just wondering how people have dealt with low energy, and if they have something that keeps them going through the day? Thanks!
  11. I just went yesterday, and I had my surgery 2/5. Miserable 3 weeks!

    Low energy?

i hope so! I managed to get through my first day back at work. Wasn't as bad as I expected, but I was super sluggish.
  13. This is actually my band weightloss. Was sleeved on February 5th. No comparison pictures for that yet!

    Low energy?

well, I guess on the bright side I don't have much to go! I haven't been taking my vitamins..oops. Mostly because just as I hit the mushy phase, I came down with the flu. Set me back so much. Couldn't eat anything without getting severely nauseous. Ate oatmeal tonight after work, one of the mcds ones. Only had maybe half, but barely any nausea! I find myself getting excited over the little things, like no nausea haha. I have noticed that cold fluids make me nauseous, particularly water. Do you have this problem?

    The flu!

I called my surgeon, he checked up on my every few hours today. I was mostly dry heaving, but once 9am hit I stopped. Been nauseous all day, but no active heaving. Surgeon wanted me to try to push clear liquids to keep hydrated, but I've been sleeping most of the day. I'm sore, very very sore stomach but whatever this is I hope it goes away soon! Will definitely get Gatorade once I'm able to get out of bed. Bright side; I've lost 5 pounds from throwing up (im sure it's all Water weight!) Thank you everyone for the responses
  16. I'm 15 days post op, and as of 3am this morning, I have the flu. I had thought last night it was my acid reflux acting up, but I woke up out of a dead sleep and couldn't stop throwing up! I went every 15-30 mind and mostly it was dry heaving. I was supposed to go back to work today, but I had to call off my shift for today because well I'm sick (I take care of three mentally challenged brothers) and because if I can't stop throwing up, I have to go to the hospital. I have thrown up since about 8 this morning. Surgeon wants me to try Clear liquids, but my stomach is screaming "nooo." Has anyone had the flu post op?
  17. Just wondering how long you had to wait until you were able to start working out? I'm 6 days post op, down 9lbs but I'm going stir crazy! Still have 11 days until I can return to work.
  18. Had my two week check up on Monday. Still not cleared to work out, but I start work again tomorrow. 70 hour work weeks are probably enough work out for me for the time being!
  19. I'm two weeks post op, and the last week my heartburn/acid reflux has been terrible. It's so bad this evening that I actually threw up, in addition to the normal nausea. My surgeon prescribed Prilosec, which I haven't been taking this last week, but when I was it helped immensely. For me, the heartburn is only bad at night.
  20. Band to sleeve on 2/5/14. SW 244 CW 238 4'10 22. (:

    Feeling discouraged

it's a nutritional drink that has protein and vitamins in it. The one I drink has 15g of protein per 8oz bottle.
  22. I'm about a week and a half post op. Since day one, eating anything resembling food makes me nauseous. Sometimes it's so bad that not even my zofran will help. The past couple days I've been throwing up 3-4 times a day. Nothing violent, but it's this really gross, thick saliva. I used to get it when I had Lapband as well. I'm in antibiotics right now due to incision infections. Bactrim, which wrecks my stomach. I haven't pooped since two days post op, and I'm still exhausted all the time. I'm feeling really discouraged right now. I feel like I will never enjoy a normal life again.

    Feeling discouraged

Thanks for the responses my support system was less than stellar. My best friends didn't understand why I couldn't go out to eat with them. They just kept asking when things would be normal again, when we could go pig out. They didn't understand that things wouldn't ever be "normal" again. So I made the decision to move back home with my parents tonight. They're incredibly supportive. On a good note, I'm down 14 since surgery. It makes the suffering that much easier. I've just decided to stick with boost and broth. The nausea is already better. It was also a result of my acid reflux. I feel much better already I have a follow up appointment tomorrow, and we will see if everything is like it's supposed to be

  25. I'm a week post op, on full liquids. Mostly throughout the day I just have thinned soup, boost, and water. Whenever I eat, I get nauseous. I'm not sure if that's due to healing, or due to eating too fast, or just the fact that my stomach isn't used to what it's getting? I have zofran, which helps immensely. I know I'm not eating too much because I only eat 4-6oz at a time. Anyone else have this issue?
