I have heard others say they can feel the band but it seems to be after a fill or being swollen. I have never felt anything except the port. Maybe try some warm tea or sugar free hot chocolate which may bring you some comfort. Hope you feel better.

I am only at 7 weeks so no expert by any mean and have not been stuck yet. I do think if you were stuck then you would feel it right away and would not be able to keep liquids down. you may have caused some swelling from eating the mashed potatoes. If you still feel this way in the morning I would suggest contacting your surgeons office.

Did you eat anything or have you been sticking to liquids? 4 days post op I was on full liquids so protein shakes and broth.

Right after surgery I was freezing a lot. I would have a sweater on and be under my comforter and still be cold. I think it was my bodies way of dealing with he surgery and drastic weight loss. I still get really cold at certain times but it is more under control now that I am 7 weeks out. Good luck and stay bundled up.

Date Set, Happy..But, I Need Some Advice Please!
RedStorm replied to Industrious Bee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not advice but in my opinion I would deal with the tooth issue ASAP! You don't want to go into surgery with any type of infection in you body and tooth aches only get worse. You will have enough to deal with post op that you don't want this tooth issue as well. -
Very normal. I used miralax and ducolax suppositories. These seemed to help a lot. I am six weeks out and still have to use the suppositories every couple of days

We had a downpour in Dallas today and I was rushing to my car and slipped and broke my right ankle. Thought it was just sprained so a coworker helped me to my car and I drive an hour home on it. Got home and had my husband take me to my doctors after hours clinic and it is broke. Have to stay off it totally for 48 to 72 hours and then a boot for 6 to 8 weeks. Good thing I have people who live close to me that I work with and they a happy to let me hitch a ride. Bad news is I will not be working out any time soon. My husband has to work tomorrow so not sure how I am gonna make it. In so much pain!!!!

And what a plus..... The broken ankle keeps me out of the kitchen. Too far to hobble. Guess I am trying to make lemonade from my lemons. ????

Thank you Bandista. I am at home until Monday when I go to the doctor for more X-rays. Thank goodness my work is very understanding.

Thank you Mikee those are wonderful ideas. When I saw my doctor at my 2 week apt he said nothing using my stomach muscles for 6 weeks or weight lifting so I will see if it is ok. I am sure using my stomach muscles to get in and out of the bed. I was due for my 6 week apt this Thursday but no way I can get there. Barely slept last night with all the pain and trying not to use a lot of pain meds because it makes me so sleepy and don't want to fall on my face with the crutches.

Burping.. Will it ever end?
RedStorm replied to Cwalden's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 6 weeks out and burp all the time for no reason. Doctor said I may be drinking to fast but it is not even when I am drinking. I am interested if others have some suggestions. -
Thank you guys. I am actually getting a good work out on crutches

Congrats. You look wonderful!

I am on soft foods and I had my surgery April 1st. You don't want to go for the full feeling and if you get to the point where it does not go down then you have ate way to much. You want to stick to the portion size the doctor told you and within the daily calories. My doctor wants me between 600 to 800 calories a day and no more then a cup of food. For example at lunch I just ate a 2.5 oz pkt of tuna with light mayo and applesauce. I am satisfied but not full. Hope this helps.

Now I have a fever of 100.
RedStorm replied to Cindi2014's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I ran a fever around 100 for almost a week. I think it was just the way my body handled major surgery and healing. I took my temp quite often just to make sure it did not get to 101 and drank plenty of fluids. Good luck and monitor your temp often. -
Where to get lap band in Dallas
RedStorm replied to 50lbstogo's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went to dr Frenzel. He has an office at Forrest park hospital. Live him and the PAs you see for your aftercare. -
what do i need before surgery
RedStorm replied to jennabean44's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Heating pad, ice packs, sugar free Popsicles, liquid extra strength Tylenol -
I have sensitive skin an I am allergic to band aid adhesive but who would have thought I was allergic to surgical glue. I was banded on April 1st and when the glue came off I got red itchy welts around all of my incisions. I finally broke down today and went to surgeons office and they told me to take Benadryl at night and gave me a steroid pack. Oh the itching has been driving me nuts.

Good luck today. Thoughts and prayers being sent your way

Am currently on soft foods, as I am a month post op. I have made tilapia twice and each time I feel like tightness in my chest and tons of burps. Nothing comes up when I burp and I have been drinking so I don't think anything is stuck. I am not sure that fish is my friend.
-
Thanks Sandy. That makes me feel better and will not give up on it. I drank the water after I was done eating and felt it in my chest.
-
So how long is the time it says you should be chewing before you swallow?
-
Sorry, I am sure that was not a good feeling at all. My surgery was on April 1st and I am still on soft food. I do not get my first full till May 15th and not real food until after that. I am looking forward to real food. When did you doctor let you start regular food?
-
I started soft foods last week and here are some of the things I eat: scrambled eggs, tuna with light mayo, canned chicken with light mayo, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, thinned oatmeal, deli turkey with laughing cow cheese wedge, pintos and cheeses go made like Taco Bell, turkey meatballs in blender with some pasta sauce. My doc told me I could have any soft food that I could cut with a cheap plastic fork and it not break.
