    Any April Sleevers?

I can't believe the 9th is tomorrow!! I'm running around like crazy trying to get everything taken care of at work and at home before tomorrow. My check in is 6:30am and my surgery is scheduled for 9:30. Good luck to all of the other April 9th sleevers! If anyone wants to be a texting buddy over the next couple of days, message me.

    Any April Sleevers?

Since my surgery is Wednesday, today I went and picked up my post op groceries, vitamin supplements and stuff to take to the hospital. Each day and each step is making it more real. Good luck to everyone!

    Any April Sleevers?

My surgery is scheduled for April 9th. I'd love to share experiences with each other.
  5. The Bariatric department at my hospital held a fashion show last night featuring their sleeve/band/bypass patients. It was amazing. I had goosebumps the entire evening and was fighting back tears several times. All of the participants were 6 months to two years out. They had make overs and were modeling clothes from a local department store. I cannot express in words the joy that was on their faces as they walked out holding an old piece if their clothing and then throwing in down to expose their new body. The families of the models had special seating and they were all so emotional and proud of them. Even the somewhat stiff surgeon was choked up when they asked him to speak at the end. I have not felt like changing my mind, but reading the threads here I know it will probably happen. If not before, I may have temporary regrets right after. Last night really helped me fill my "inspiration/motivation bank". I have the memories of those patients and families to reflect on if those doubts creep up. I wish all of you could have been there.

    Tomorrow is the BIG day!

I'm so excited for you!! I agree, this forum is a godsend. I hope you are able to calm your nerves and that everything goes wonderful tomorrow and you have an amazing recovery! I have 6 days so I'm just starting to feel what you are. I'm still on my 'high' from getting a date and watching the scale move from my preop diet. Good luck tomorrow!! Hugs!
  8. @@Erin414 The 21st will be here before you know it!
  9. Squeal! I know! I'm still excited, but I'm prepared for that "omg what i am doing" feeling to creep up. I am doing so well on the pre-op. I think I'm able to stick to it better than my other attempts because I know that it's gone for good. My pre-op diet is no carbs, no sugar and lean Protein. I've gotten very sick on Atkins before so my nut. ok'd some carbs. I've lost 9.5 pounds in 7 days. I bought a new battery for my scale yesterday because I was worried something was wrong with it! lol How is your pre-op going? What type of pre-op do you have to do? You only have 11 days left!

    March 2014 Sleevers

I was thinking of doing the same thing. Great idea to remind you WHY this will all be worth it in the end.
  11. KMLG I have felt the same way with the scale lately. It was the most dreaded part of my Dr's visits.. the past couple I didn't care at all because I knew it would be one of the last times that I would ever hate it. I am so ready! It sounds like you are also. I have been on a fat clothes buying ban for the past couple of months. My closet is full of clothes from size 16-24. I have been looking at a few cute nightgowns, I think I might buy one for the hospital. I don't want to walk the halls in something old or one of those butt baring, paper thin hosptial gowns! I have been a creeper also. I've really enjoyed reading the success stories and looking at the pics. At the risk of sounding like a stalker... I saved a few on my phone to look at when/if I have that "omg what am I doing??!!??" moment on the moring of surgery. Good luck to you! Keep us posted!
  12. VSG also. You will blink and it will be time for your surgery. Back in January I thought it was going to take FOREVER to get my date and then BOOM here it is! I feel like I have so much to do and so little time.
  13. Hi, I'm about two hours south of Savannah.. LOVE it there! My surgery is next week. I could use a few buddies too.

    My 1St 5K

Congratulations!!! How inspiring! It's been a desire of mine to do a 5k. I started the Couch to 5k plan last year. Between week 2 and 3, I injured my knee and could barely walk. I've been getting injections into the knee and limping a bit since. My knees obviously decided I was too fat to run My doctor told me no more than 1 mile a day because of the knee issues. If I couldn't even walk for excercise anymore I felt like I was just going to get fatter and fatter until I died. That is when I decided that it was finally time to go for the surgery. The thought of surgery was scary, but death is a bit more scary! My surgery is next week and I can't wait to drop some weight so that my knee isn't quite so angry with me when I walk. I've rocked my preop diet so far, so I KNOW that I can do this. I've been busy picking out the 5k's I want to do first. One is in October and the other is in December. The finisher 'bling' is such a turn on!! Thanks for sharing your NSV!
  15. Thank you all for posting your amazing Before and Afters. It is such a huge help! My surgery is next week, this is really helping me stay excited and committed to my preop diet. I will reference this thread while I'm sitting in the waiting room for my name to be called.

    April 9th!

My date is the 9th also. I'm 43, a sonographer and work at the hospital that I'm getting sleeved at. I'm 329 and 5'5". I can't wait to get started either. I've been mentally breaking up with some of my naughty indulgence food items. My husband is completely fine with it, but he's a snacker so I'm worried about that. He's been known to have a Little Debbie stash in his nightstand! Good luck with your surgery! I can't believe our date is so close. The time is going to fly by.

  24. My last class is March 11th and I was told that I should be scheduled within two weeks for my surgery. I am so ready to make this positive change in my life. I've really enjoyed reading through everyone's posts. It's nice to see that others feel the same way I do. I'm looking forward to having some April Sleeve buddies to compare notes with.
