5 Months Post Op and I am so far off path.. I need help. I don't know where to start?
Maybe try going back to the gym, even if it's for a 30 min cardio session, will help you balance out your eating habits and you won't feel so guilty. Make that your new goal, simply 30 mins of exercise daily good luck to you!

No support from my family.....
At first my sister criticized me, about 2 weeks after surgery she was calling me to help her find out if her insurance covered it. No one has the right to criticize your decision, no one walks in your shoes except you. Go for it!

"Liver- pain"
Thank you for your response, I will keep an eye in it, I'm not having issues with the bathroom either, but anything is possible.

"Liver- pain"
Has any one experienced pain in that area of the abdomen? Yesterday I drank very little water I think it might be the reason why I feel like this.

PUREE Stage.....yuck! Help!
You can try blending your meats with some sort of root vegetable like squash, sweet potatoes, regular mashed potatoes or any other boiled root vegetable, you can do what Cubans call A mojito, basically get some garlic n sautéed it n put it on your purée after you blend it, sort of like a dressing, you're going to love it! Other things you can eat: guacamole, ricotta cheese, hummus, grits, eggs, just to name my favorites

Yes you are rights about the empty calories, I will sure save it for special occasions, I didn't ask my doc about how long to wait so I will be def counting until week 6 which is when I have my next appointment. Thanks!

Protein Troubles
I'm on the purée stage too, some of my favorite things to eat are: humus, guacamole, tuna, mashed potatoes with sour cream, plain white yogurt, cottage/ricotta cheese, grits, eggs ect... As for getting too full, the best thing you can do I measure your food to avoid over eating.

Alcohol...
You and I both! Hahaha

Alcohol...

January 2014 Sleevers
I had my surgery on 1/23/14, so far I'm doing great, only had nausea once, and I have over eaten on 2 occasions because I tried to eyeball my food (big no no). I've lost 14 pounds so far I'm in the puree stage. I'm never hungry but I try to eat at least 5 times a day. I have had some issues with protein shakes so I stopped taking then, hopefully I will restart once I can have regular foods so I can eat protein bars instead. I have also dealt with some mild depression, which I think has been the worst part of it all. Good luck to all of you!!!

Can't tell if I'm full, can you?!
Measure your food! It's happened to me that 1 extra bite just fills me up too much n I dont feel good after. Of course it's only happened when I try to eyeball my food.

Oink oink before pre-op liquids?
I pigged out the day before surgery, my doctor did not ask me to do a pre op diet. Don't feel bad, most of us had "food funerals" lol

Surgery date moved to March 24th
It varies with insurance, I have Avmed and they didn't require a 6 month diet, only the letter of necessity from my primary and the nutrition/psych letters.
