  1. Very normal to feel these sorts of things. Unfortunately years ago and even today these things are not dealt with appropriately and I can profess that if it goes left on the wayside ultimately bad habits will come back. You can do this!

You have no idea how tough this is until you have the surgery and your coping mechanism is gone overnight. There is a high incidence of substance abuse , acting out sexually and many other things

Until it is gone you have no idea how much tome you spend planning, cooking and eating. Another hard part is nor being included in family meals etc. People ate uncomfortable that you eat nothing basically, and ate getting thin= sick looking and unhealthy for at least awhile. If you don't have a hobby or big time consumer you could be in big trouble. Heafs up!"

  2. I am brand new to this site, however I am years post op my surgery was in 2007 and currently I still have these same deficiencies (and many more). I take 6 times the adult dose of Iron and vit D it has never really helped me much. The fatigue is awful it feels like I wish I could do this over and skip the surgery all together.

I second this surgery was 2005 and I am still severely anemic plus the two mentioned and several more I currently take ferrous sulfate and pre natal plus Vitamins etc., problem is it is not near enough, mal absorptive issues plague bariatric patients . Give me back my strong body and diabetes, that I could deal with easily, this....NO!

  3. Well.....This is the third time I've had to take antibiotics since my surgery on 7/11. First time was for the incision infection, 2nd time for the infection in my intestines/bowel due to the first antibiotics causing an imbalance and killing my good bacteria in there. Got off the 2nd antibiotic two weeks ago...things seem to be much better and then bingo 3 days ago rut rooo.

The same thing started happening again. This time waking me up at 2am and kept me up. After 2 days called the doc and she put me back on antiotics

to try to clear up the C. Diff. I asked to be

again but, she said they don't usually test again. Basically if this two week supply doesn't make things better or if things get worse.....she's sending me to an infectious disease specialist.

Sure hope this clears up. I was so worried about it today that I packed extra clothes "just in case". I was out of work for 6.5 weeks...had to call in sick Tuesday because of this so I just HAD to go in today.

Weird part is...aside from this issue I feel great! Today I was thinking how I actually feel thinner....noticing my knees are hurting as much and my clothes are loose...but I'm tied to the bathroom :( Oh well...this too shall pass and I'm so looking forward to feeling 100% :)

I understand everyone is trying to help, but pro biotics can do nothing for c- diff, try Googling it!! It is VERY SERIOUS and can lead to mega Colin!! We are talking apples and oranges here, it's a whole different animal. Dear you have my best thoughts and I am so sorry you ate enduring this, cdiff makes diahrrea look like fun

Please keep on top of things, may I suggest word puzzles for the time spent on toilet. Don't be afraid to use those febreeze coupons!! I agree nothing is TMI you will be in my thoughts and sending good vibes and angels!!

  5. Please read my post about the ulcers years. It was for you. I also did the PICC line after the tear down, was home 3days and back in hospital a month and 2 more surgeries required. I weigh the same as my 12 yr old son, 95#'s.

I had the same problems, went down to 92 lbs. Almost died, finally found a surgeon willing to try and see the problem, found a titanium ring too small for even Water to get through!! Never saw anything like it, my surgeon was THE BEST around with a stellar reputation, so this means nothing. Be forewarned this WILL change your life , and your teeth. Now disabled with many med problems from surgery, and dentures!! My teeth were beautiful!!. Not to scare anyone, but this was the gold standard surgery in 2005 with the best surgeon around
