    Struggling

Hi I was there so very recently. I didn't enjoy hearing 'it's going to get better' from everyone cause it definitely didn't feel that way but I'm 6 weeks post op and I'm 5 million times better today than I was 3 weeks ago. Soldier through. Inbox me if you need any encouragement.
  3. I didn't have a special diet to follow
  4. I'm 5 weeks post op experiencing my first stall. Those things really mess with your head! I keep thinking, 'ok so 35 lbs is all I'm going to ever lose.' I know it's not true but I start a regular diet on Tuesday and I figured I would lose weight like crazy while on the restricted part of the diet. Time to take the battery out of scale.

    4 months with photo

    You look great!
  7. I'm 4 weeks post op and I truly don't enjoy life post sleeve. Eating is so complicated. What to eat, when to eat, how long to eat, how much to eat. It's just so tedious and difficult it makes me miserable. I really wish I could turn back time and not have this sleeve. I'm just hating this lifestyle.

    This is so difficult!

I really appreciate all the encouraging and reassuring replies. I'm so happy to have a place to get these emotions out. I believe things will improve and since there is no turning back; I must go through this as part of the process. I didn't go into this surgery with naivety but at this point I feel like the emotional toll can't be judged or truly realized until you're in that situation.

    This is so difficult!

So because I'm having regrets I'm not an adult? That's such an adult response. Appreciate it.

    This is so difficult!

Thanks for all your replies. I had this surgery to live a longer life, to be happy and healthy. I didn't expect to have this be all consuming. I never feel 'great'. I'm kinda miserable, actually.
  11. I'm 4 weeks post op today and am down 35 lbs since surgery.

    Hardest thing for you?

Hardest things for me is definitely missing my diet coke. I can't even look at a bottle of it without feeling sad. And also just enjoying food. It's all such a chore to eat now.

    A little worried

You ladies are machines !! I am 3 weeks post op and am so tired I can't imagine having to work.
  14. I'm 3 weeks post op and like many, I can't tolerate water. I love water and it saddens me that I can't drink it anymore. I don't like putting the infusers in water. I want a nice cold glass of water. Does it ever get better?
  15. I've always taken mine whole, since day 1
  16. How far out did you comfortably sleep on your stomach again?

How long till you feel normal

I'm 3 weeks today and feel about 60% normal.

    Sorry for having to ask!

I am nearly 3 weeks out and have diarrhea daily since surgery. So annoying.
  19. It's good to hear that there are people out there who haven't turned into healthy machines in order to lose a significant amount of weight. I know I could never be that extreme and often fear I would fail because of it.
  20. For me, I researched the sleeve as much as humanly possible. I know 4 others that had it done and I was confident that I could do it and it's what I needed. Fast forward to 4 days post op when I got out of the hospital; I was miserable. I cried for days. No matter how 'prepared' I thought I was, no one can really prepare you for the emotional toll. Obviously everyone is different but my experience was terrible. I equate it to a crackhead's first weeks in rehab. I missed food. I missed being blasé about eating. Yes my life prior to the sleeve was miserable but I didn't think about that the first days post op, I just kept focusing on the misery of losing my friend food. Others may not have had such a negative experience afterwards but that was mine. I'm 2 weeks+ out now and feel better. Do I think about my fave junk foods? Yes, several times a day. But at least I'm not crying anymore. I'm down 22 lbs and although I don't see it, others do. I'm definitely not at a stage where I would recommend the surgery, but I'm not as bad as I was right after the surgery. It's definitely a journey of inner strength. Some of it, you can't prepare for.
  21. Sounds like you're doing it but definitely detox from caffeine prior. I drank my diet coke right up to 2 days before surgery and the withdrawal headaches were killer.

    Hungry all day

I am 2 weeks post op and never lost my hunger. I feel kinda cheated lol
  23. Im on to soft foods on Sunday but my NUT's diet is very unclear about what soft foods really are. So is it just boiling the meat protein? Help.

    Help?

I'm 14 days post op and I am allowed to eat a scrambled egg as part of my puréed diet.
