    keep loseing

You are doing soooo great already!! You should be so very proud of your self!!
  4. @@LookatmeNow34 - Don't worry about Protein yet. Worry about just getting fluids in.
  5. @@Antonia_megan - i too had to have nausea pain meds. See if you can get some warm tea or some G2 (room temperature). I found those to be a little easier on my tummy. Pain pills will be hard to stomach for a while. Even my smallest pill I take hits my tummy like a rock. If you can have someone find it (once you are discharged) - CVS, sells a liquid Extra Strength Tylenol (for adults), that I took, instead of another pain pill that hurt my tummy. The liquid tylenol was a life saver! Wishing you a quick recovery and that your pain decreases quickly!! Hang in there - it DOES get better.

  10. @@browneyedgirl1981 - Baked chicken may come out too dry this early. If you have a crockpot - I would suggest cooking it in there. It's more moist and tender that way, and will be easier for you to eat and wont be as harsh on your tiny tummy. And I would imagine relish would be fine to add to your canned chicken.
  11. A couple things I like are spaghetti sauce that i mix with lean ground turkey. I put a bit (2 tbsp) of low fat ricotta in the bottom of a small bowl, heated it up in the microwave, and then put 1/4 cup of the spaghetti sauce on top of the ricotta. Tastes like lasagna! Also, if you like fish, take a piece of tilapia, and cook it in saute pan for 2 min (over medium heat) each side (spray pan with PAM Olive Oil), then pour 1/4-1/2 cup of salsa on top. Let it cook for an additional 5 min. DELISH!
  12. 3 weeks since surgery and i'm down 38lbs! Woot!!

@Zoey716 Thank you so much!! I am sure I will be bugging you if you don't mind? A couple right off the back. Did you use the bariatric fusion shakes? I see you hospital stay was 3 days.. Cavaretta told me 2?

    2. Zoey716

      Zoey716

@alxmak1021 - I used bariatric fusion vanilla. It's best if you blend it in a blender. Comes out MUCH better. I also added sugar free flavored syrup (like coffee syrups). I also drank Pure Protein with added fiber. They sell them at Target for 7.99 (coupon in this weeks newspaper for $1 off!). They only have vanilla and chocolate and they are both good. The nutritional break down was pretty close to the fusion shakes so Synergy gave me the go ahead to split them. I drank half fusion and half pure protein.

I stayed in the hospital for 3 days because I had a bad reaction to the pain meds. I had horrible nausea and dry heaves for 2 1/2 days until we figured out it was the pain meds causing it. As soon as those stopped, I started to improve. I was also dealing with stomach spasms, which wasn't much fun. When i went home I was on anti nausea meds, a pill for the spasms, prilosec, and extra strength tylenol. Pills can be tough on your little sensitive tummy. Look for liquid extra strength tylenol. They sell it at CVS (their brand). Works great and it's one less pill to swallow! :)

      alxmak1021

@Zoey716 A friend of mine also suggested to buy the vanilla, so you can doctor it up a little with the syrups. I remember one of your posts saying that you were having a rough time but did not regret having it done. Thank you for being so helpful. :)

  20. Oh and I've heard the unjury chicken broth is pretty good - i haven't tried it so I can't give any personal reviews. But that is also a good source of protein!
  21. What are you allowed on your pre-op? I don't know about freezing it. I just like to chug it down and get it done with. lol. Some people use almond milk and tend to really like it. Or you can try vanilla/chocolate soy milk? (Just watch the sugar content - they do make light versions). Can you have decaf coffee? Try adding cold coffee to the Protein powder and add a couple ice cubes when you blend it -make yourself a little frappuchino! Some folks in my support group suggested that to me too.
  22. @@Erin414 - How do you mix the powder? In a Blender Bottle or in a blender? I found using a blender the shakes are much better and lighter since they are aerated. You can try throwing in a ice cube or 2 to make it more like a milk shake. If its too thick - add a little more milk or Water to thin it out. Hope you find something that works for you. If you still have a trouble with those shakes ask your doctor if you can try a different one. Wishing you the best!!
