Got the post I just recently entered on fill forum: I thought I'd let everyone know what can happen if you go too fast on solids after a fill. I had a fill on Sept 16. I stayed on liquids that day and the end of the next. I was feeling so good that I ate some macarony & cheese late at night. One of my bedtime medicines seemed to burn or irritate a spot real low on my esphagus (because I had loaded up my pouch with food). The next day I PB'ed everything I ate. That spot on esphagus burns when food or water touches it. For the last three days I can barely hold water down and I have medicine I need to take. Having a real hard time getting it down. I figure it is stomach swelling is my problem and am going to ride this out. Clear liquids now and protein drinks when I am able to hold the clear liquids down. Broth is the only thing I can hold down. I'm not going back to get an unfill. I will sweat out the clear liquid time and go slowly to protein drink.

I too have been wondering where everyone is. Dr. Gonzales did my surgery also and he did a super job. The whole team are tops.

Doc. put me on liquids and soft foods like sugar free jello and popcycles, also protein drinks. This was for 10 days before surgery...it did shrink my liver a lot. It makes surgery so much easier for you and the doc. Also I've heard of people whose liver was so large that the doc couldn't operate.

Sorry to hear about the miserable red tape you are going through. I'm doing downright poorly on my weight loss. I've needed a fill for some time,but with moving to Montana and now have a month full of company coming to visit. Seems like we're in a part of the world that everyone wants to visit. We head back to NM the end of October... am hoping to get a fill in before then.

Tiggie, Bozeman for shopping is great. Silver City, NM is about 3 times the size of Livingston but the shopping is better is Livingston..(Love Town & Country foods store)..especially considering Bozeman. We'll be heading back to Silver in late Oct. but, we're considering staying here full time in several years.

Anyone know of a good fill doc in Bozeman, Montana? I will be spending the summer there an need a fill?

Hi All, dropped in too let you all know I am still around. In late July I moved into our new summer home in Livingston, MT from Silver City, NM. Almost the whole time here the temperature highs have been about 10 degrees cooler in Silver than here!!! Talk about a shocker. I'm in dire need of a fill and am starting to put pounds back on. I hear there is a great fill doc in Great Falls, MT. Will be setting up an appointment with him. I see Skinny Dip, Doddie and Phyl are still posting. How is it going for you?

It actually has been a cool summer in Livingston, MT!!! I didn't get here until the 3rd week in July, perhaps that is why I've experienced Just hot. Right now the temps are wonderful,but, see that the weather report is for some nice cool weather ahead and yesterday was perfect. Perhaps if I'd get some of these extra layers of insulation (fat) off I'd feel cooler. BTW it is so beautiful here and I love this town. Bozeman is beautiful and has all the great stores. LOve it.

Thought I'd pop in and say Hi to all. I moved from Silver City, NM to Livingston, MT the third week in July. I was shocked at how hot and dry it is here. Just about every day that I have been here it's been about 10 degrees cooler in Silver City, NM that Livingston.!!!!!! But, the heat is letting up this week WHEW...It is beautiful here. I'm stacking on the weight and desperately need to get that fill. Will be checking out Dr. Rohrer and let you all know how it goes...............

Your help has worked. I haven't PBed in several days now. This is god for me, because when I upchuck all my dinner, I get hungry later and eat bad food which i know won't come up.

Thanks, those are some great ideas. The meds are what put a lot of this weight on me. He has me on such a high dose are Seroquil that I feel like I'm vegetating. Seroquil takes away the feeling of satiation when you eat. We did try to change to Abilify and I had lots of trouble sleeping. When I eat out or at friends, I'm so afraid that I will PB that I eat just a few bites and chew forever. I'll try your advice and see what happens...

Nice to have you for a friend. I'm not doing the good things, Guess I'm doing lots of the bad things. When I suddenly feel a sort of back-up in my esophagus, I'll take another bite or two. Needless to say that back-up comes up along with those extra bites. I'm bipolar and am not taking all my meds, so I start doing things real fast like talking a mile a minute and eating at same time. I've been PBing at least several times a day. Don't want a defill but will follow your advice. Thanks, going to print out what you say and put it on my refrig.:cursing:

PHYLL & DOODIE I want friends too. Should go check it out. It may be inspiring to have friends who have problems similair to mine. Yesterday I signed up in Facebook and sent out messages to friends and kids to join me. Haven't had even one response! Then I hear that Facebook is mostly for collage kids.....NOT FAIR!!

How's everyone doing? I have this problem with PBing a lot and wonder if anyone else has the same???? Had a super bad one last night. Ate Tabouli salad for dinner, nothing else. about midway through the bowl of Tabouli I began PBing. Every single bite wound up PBing out. Below is the ingredients. Tring to figure out why it made me so sick. I have a lot of trouble with fresh veggies. Anyone else have this? 3 bunches of parsley 2 med. tomatoes 1/2 onion 1/2 bunch of scallions 2 lemons 1 1/2 oz. olive oil 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. allspice 1/2 tsp. dried mint Touch of black pepper 1/4 c. raw bulgar wheat or cracked wheat

:regular_smile:seems like it took forever to get back, sorry. One of the things I love about the southwest is that one doesn't have grass lawns or if they do it is just a small area. The rest can be beautiful flowers and shrubs (hopefully, native and water conserving.) BACK TO OUR THREAD on the N word I'm reading a true story ANN RULE book and she writes about how bigoted and cruel people were toward mixed race marriages, back in the early 70's. It was actually illegal to marry in some states!!!!!!! And the kids were teased and bullied at school. WOW.... the USA is changing, but it took a long time.

About that first fill. I had a large fill for my first one (over 6cc in a 10cc band). I couldn't feel hardly any difference. Then with the second fill, I felt a major difference. Also since the second fill I've had a lot of PBing. So I guess everyone is different

Hi airclare. I envy you. I lived in Corrales from 1987 until 2001. Got divorced and moved to Silver City, NM. Corrales rocks and now a support group, WOW. Wish I could make it to the group except I live almost 300 miles away:sad_smile:
