  1. I will cute1. I did gain some weight about 10 lbs but I lost it again because I'm on a 2 week liquid diet
  2. I am having my revision next Tuesday Dec 9. I have also heard about not losing as fast. I am hoping that since I've had no restricton for several months, due to a complete unfill, that I will feel like this is a brand new beginning.
  3. I know how you feel. I was also being really good and lost 9 lbs on my preop diet. My surgery is next Tuesday. Then just now I got out of bed and had a yogurt and a Protein bar. I'm saying the same thing to myself....why??? Well, you're right, we just have to move forward. By the way, I love Nutella lol
  4. All the best to you. I'll be in the same shoes in 6 days. Looking forward to hearing about your surgery.
  5. Hi there, My surgery is on December 9th. Yes, I have h-pylori which along with it comes the gastritis. I am on 3 different meds that I have to take every 12 hours. The names of the meds are: amoxicillin 500 mg, clarithromycin 500 mg and omeprazole 40 mg which is Prilosec. What are the names of the meds you are taking? I am on day 7 of these meds plus on my pre liquid diet of Optifast and boy am I suffering with horrible diarrhea. Sorry for the TMI. I can't even leave my house. I sent my daug in law out to get me yogurt (which I'm not supposed to have on the pre liquid) but it did slow it down.Thankfully. Did you already start the meds? Hopefully, you won't have the same reaction as me. I usually am very sensitive to antibiotics in that way.
  6. thanks Michelle. At least I'm not back to my all time high
  7. thats great bikiniin, I lost 80 with the lapband and gained back about 40 more or less.
  8. congratulations on being sleeved. I also can't wait for my band to come out on Dec 9
  9. yes I started on Thursday so I am at the end of Day 4. I have 2 shakes a day and 1 light meal consisting of meat and salad. The day after Thanksgiving I start my full liquids for 12 days. I don't really have any hunger; I guess I'm too excited and the fact that I know I have a goal in mind is good. How about you? I can't wait to get this lapband and port out.
  10. I'm from NY. My doc is Rajeev Vohra in South Nassau Communities Hospital in Hewlett, Long Island.
  11. thank you Thank you for your input. My husband was on Warfarin too but he was also on dialysis which didn't help. His INR would go up to 9 at times and he was tested weekly. They had quite the time trying to regulate it. Anyway, I take Xarelto so I don't get my INR tested etc. Again, thanks
  12. Do you make sure you don't lay down for several hours after your last meal? Sorry for the elementary question.
  13. This is a question I have to present to my cardiologist but thought I'd ask here as well and learn of your experiences. Since most/all/many blood thinners have to be taken with food (to lessen the chance of a stomach bleed per doc) what did you do on the full liquid stages before and after surgery? I was wondering if taking the meds after a Meal Replacement will suffice? My husband was on blood thinner and had three stomach bleeds so I am very concerned about this.
  14. That is awesome!! Great job!!
  15. I just started my pre op diet yesterday. I am going to be on 1 meal a day beside the liquids and then the day after thanksgiving I go on full liquids. I'm a little anxious about it also but keeping my eyes on the prize. Are you having sugar free ice pops and Jello and broth too? I think that really helps. We can do this!!!
  16. If it's not too personal, how much have you lost altogether. I'm 18 days pre op.
  17. oh ok thats great. Then you should be past liquids by Christmas. Me too, about starting full liquids the day after Thanksgiving. All the best to you.
  18. Thats great. Me too; I'm so excited!! How are you doing on your pre op diet? I just started yesterday but I can have 1 light meal a day..fish or chicken with salad and light dressing. It's going ok thus far!!
  19. Hi, who is your surgeon. I live in Queens but getting my surgery with Dr Vohra at South Nassau Communities Hospital. All the best to you!
  20. @ "Sylar". I had my band surgery in January of 2008. In my experience the approval was quick and the insurance approved my surgery in about 2 weeks. It doesn't hurt to try. All the best.
  21. I use Isopure and to me it's not bad at all.
  22. I just finished reading this entire thread and I'm so happyto read your latest post. So sorry you went through that.
  23. So I got approved today by Anthem BC/BS then I get a call from my gastroenterologist that I have H-Pylori...yay me Well, I had H-Pylori 7 years ago when I got my lapband and had to take 2 kinds of medicines beside an acid reducer for 2 weeks. I'm wondering if I got it again -or- if it never went away. So my surgery is 21 days away so I'm hoping he won't postpone if I start the meds tomorrow after I see him. I've been researching this bacteria a lot today and it seems the concensus is that to get rid of it completely, it would be good idea to take Probiotics too. I'll discuss this tomorrow with my doctor. Is anyone familiar with this?
  24. sorry you are going through this. I am getting my band out and my sleeve in on Dec 9. I have not slipped but i have a hiatal hernia which they will repair during surgery. I was also getting acid reflux and could never find the all desirable but ever elusive sweet spot.
  25. Just a sidebar that has me confused (I'm pre-op) when you say 40 oz are you calculating the water and protein combined?
