February/March 2014 sleevers

Mmm. Lol! -
I don't think that's anything to get too worried about. You're still so new post op. you're swollen and still figuring this little tummy out. If you're still struggling in a few days call your NUT and see what they think.

Tanita brand reads body fat and water. I spent $50 on it which is a lot but I love it

February/March 2014 sleevers

That was me yesterday. But it only lasted one day, thank goodness. I was dying. Today has been much more peaceful and I will be going on a walk soon. -
I ate a solid too early...need ideas to be prepared. Please help...

This is a fabulous liar. Thanks for sharing! -
Ha. I chewed up a crouton then spit it out last night. Beans would have been a much healthier option! Lol. Good job with the weight loss! I am dreading my first stall. I'm down 18. 7 from liquids, 11 since surgery. I'm glad I can still get plenty of fluids in. I miss my water drinking. But day by day I'm getting more and more in. I hit 64oz of water no problem now. As for full liquids I have to do clears for two weeks. I had surgery in 2/13. I get full liquids on 2/27. So I'm still on clears. Oh joy.

I took Percocet which doesn't come in liquids. It cost $25 and I crush it and pour it in a shot glass and then pour the water in and throw it back. Not tasty but not the worst thing in the world. And it helps my pain without making me sick. Liquid lortab makes me throw up.

Yay poop! Lol. Glad to hear you got something out! -
Sorry. My last post was confusing. I progress to full liquids. Creamy soups, yogurts, SF pudding...right now I'm on shakes, water, broths and ice pops.

I am 8 days post op for the sleeve. I also had the lapband. Yes. You have to be careful about how much water you drink before meals and should not drink with meals. I was drinking 4-6 liters of water before my surgery. I had water with me everywhere I went. I was more prepared for the transition since I had had band surgery before. It's not too rough. I am so focused on my meals that water isn't even a thought. But throughout the rest of the day I am constantly sipping. I can't take huge gulps like I used to. But already 8 days out I am getting more than the minimum 64 ounces required. I know you are less likely to have loose skin if you are working out with weights. Weights are scary. But you can do it. I just used Christmas money to hire a personal trainer. I still crush my pills. It's a preference thing. I don't mind them crushed and I know they're not going to come back up or get stuck. But my surgeons office says any pill larger than your pinky finger's nail bed should be cut in half. I was encourage to not take the stairs unless I needed to. But my room is also upstairs. I slept in our recliner downstairs the first night simply because I got discharged late and was super tired. Good luck with your surgery. Do you have it scheduled yet? -
Lol! I had my c-section at the same hospital and showed up in FULL makeup. No one cared. But babies are a little different than surgery.

My pre-op paperwork specifically do not wear makeup or perfume.

Please don't let others on here discourage you for asking for help. The boards are meant to be a safe-haven where you can find answers to questions and a boost to your self-esteem. I understand wanting something different. I am on week two of post-op clears (meaning week 4 total of liquids) and I'm going crazy. Unfortunately I don't have an answer. I just deal and when I'm having a really bad craving I go for a walk. I just get out of the house and away from the food and the people eating it. I hope you are doing better with your meal plan. You can do this and most of us are in it together and are on this site to help and encourage. Ignore the others. Jen -
Does your spouse know how much you weigh?
Jencovi replied to Ree's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yep. He knows. He is the most understanding skinny person I know and have never judged me or the number on the scale. I'm down 20 pounds today (8 days post-op) and I love that he was able to celebrate with me. He is my greatest supporter. -
What size bougie was used?
Jencovi replied to niassy151's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
35 French. My surgeon told me that in my initial consult. -
Full liquids. Besides protein I'm on clears.
-
I'm so jealous of all of you. I want food! Lol.
-
Of course on the day I burst open like the flood waters of the deep, my daughter gets sick and is projectile vomiting! Lol. She's going to be okay. But I have had a long day and I can see we are in for a long night!
-
Yeah. I would love that. I'm on clear liquids until Friday. Boo!
-
Wow. Look at you go! I'm not allowed food for another week.
-
Glad you're getting some rest SJ. I am taking a nap now!
-
I tried to go on my walk and had to turn around right as I turned the corner to leave the neighborhood. Had to briskly walk straight to the bathroom! Lol. So no walk today. Can't trust my body. When is bedtime?
-
After 8 days I am finally getting it all out. Thank God! I am ready for this part to be over now. I'm running to the bathroom without warning!

The first day I finished a whole shake was Wednesday which was day six for me. I took it to my group class with a lot of ice. It was a 2 hour class from 10-12 so I made it at 8 like normal and took it with. I finished the shake and a 16oz bottle of water. I was so proud. But I don't usually sit around and have time for that. I have my daughter to watch/run around with at home so I set it in the fridge and end up focusing in water and forgetting the shake in the fridge. Lol. I have gotten better though.
