    November sleevers

I've been walking and getting regular pain meds but I think since I had a cold when I came in for surgery that I now have something more serious. I haven't been able to wean off O2 and I don't where O2 at home. So I just think that maybe this whole cold and surgery was a bad idea.

    November sleevers

Still at the hospital. I can't pass gas but I've become an expert at dry heaving gas.

It's been rough for me. How about you? I hope all went well for you. I'm really struggling right now and I have been since the surgery was over.

    November sleevers

Tomorrow is my day, praying I'm well enough after battling a pretty nasty cold! I'm so excited really hoping everything goes well!
  5. So my surgery is Tuesday 11/28 I woke up sick yesterday....of course. No fever just horribly runny nose and sore throat. I'm taking vitamin C and drinking tons of fluid any other advice? I'll rest as much as possible but I work 12 hour night shifts right up to the morning of surgery. Any help appreciated. Also (this may be tmi for some) I'm chronically anemic and was supposed to start my period the 30th and I guess because it's my lucky day I started early, this morning. Anyone else have issues with this right before surgery and should I be concerned that my hemoglobin will be too low for surgery?

    November sleevers here

I've recently moved to a freestanding ER that's not so busy so I'm hoping with any luck 11 days will be ok. Congrats to you! I hope your day at work went well.

    November sleevers here

What do you do for work, if you don't mind me asking. I'm planning on returning to work 11 days post op and I'm very worried about it. I'm an ER nurse.
  10. I'm struggling with this. I found out my surgery date (11/28) on Thursday and was told to start my pre-op diet the next day. I wasn't mentally prepared for that and I haven't been able to grocery shop. So I pretty much decided I would start Saturday and was doing great until dinner time in which case I blew it. So tomorrow I jump back in and try this again....I have come so far I will NOT fail now!

    general insurance questions

I have Aetna also. You will have to jump ALL hoops first and then get approved. Aetna doesn't make it as easy as other insurance companies and they even made it a little more difficult as of 1/31/14. Just stay focused and remember it takes a number of months to go thru the process...it will be worth it!

    Aetna frustrations!

Before I start I just want to say I know the purpose of this is to lose weight!! My frustration is that I just learned that Aetna has made a new requirement....from your first weight if you gain 1 lb you will be denied!!!! Seriously? This concerns me because I haven't had any of my education at this point I start next week but my 1st eval was 1/31 if I've gained 1 lb I will be denied?!? I have 12 weeks of classes to attend if I lose weight at every appointment but gained 1lb between 1/31 and 3/26 I'm going to be denied? Anybody know anything about this?

    Ohio Sleeve patients?

I've had my first eval, EKG, psych eval, my EGD and sleep study are scheduled. My question is this....does OSU contact you to schedule the pre/post op courses or do I need to call and schedule them?
