  1. You can do it Blueturtle!! I have had a hard time losing weight the past two weeks (once I started back on solid foods. I had lost 38 pounds prior to solid foods. I'm supposed to eat three 5 oz. meals per day. I still feel hungry, and have found it takes six, close to 7 oz. before I feel full. I'm trying to keep my meals down to six ounce portions for now. My first fill is on Wednesday afternoon. I hope this will help me feel full at five oz. In the meantime, I have tried stepping up my activity level. I went to the gym six days last week, twice on Wednesday. My weight finally started going down again. On this morning's weigh in, I was at 41 pounds loss since I started my pre-surgery diet. I know this will be a battle, but remember; you are not alone in this battle!!! Alvey

    45 minutes kayaking in the lake by the house. My first bit of kayaking in over a year.

    Started the day with 45 minutes on the stair master (arc trainer) at the gym. Then walked around the Magic Kingdom at Disney until the rain started. Now I'm heading home for my 5 oz. lunch.

    Ran 4.97 miles on the elliptical this morning. Then walked up and down the stairs at work quite a bit dealing with bad kids again. Came home walk the puppies for one-mile. Then went to the gym and lifted weights for about 45 minutes. Busy day!
  7. I get my fill next Wednesday. Other than the needle, how does it feel?
  8. I have not had any problems taking one pill per swallow right after each other.
  9. So I started eating solid food today (I was banded Jan. 27th), and the question of the day is: if I am making some oat meal, do I use the dry weight or with water added as the amount toward my 5 oz. limit?

    Banders Exercise

    I did five mornings in the gym for cardio this week! Today, no gym. Instead, I will be mowing the lawn. Exercise, but not that much fun. Tonight, I'm looking to have some mini-golf fun. My doctor gave me the go ahead to do what I want in the gym, so I think I will start doing weights 3 or 4 nights a week. That added to my five mornings a week of cardio should do wonders for my weight loss goals. Today, I'm down 37 lbs. since I started my pre-surgery diet less than a month ago.

    30 minutes on the arc trainer this morning! I have lots of energy today! Too bad some nasty weather is on its way in now. I guess it's time for some housework.

    This morning, I ran just over 3 miles on the elliptical in a 30 minute span. It's good to be back at the gym!

    I started back at the gym this morning! 30 minutes on the Arch Trainer. Did a lot of extra walking at work today, issues with a student with a poor attitude. Now I'm off for a walk with the puppies, the weather is really nice outside this evening! Not a cloud in the sky and in the 70s.

    Today, I took the puppies for a mile-long walk. Then I went and played two rounds of miniature golf. Good times!
  17. Thanks Iasal. I'm sure you'll break through your stand still. I'm scheduled for my first fill at the end of the month.
  18. Mmm I love egg salad, I hadn't thought of eating that!! I'm so ready to be done with liquids.
  19. I hit 30 lbs. lost today! (Included with my pre-surgery diet) I'm starting soft foods next week! I'll be happy to be out of my liquid diet.

    Off for a walk with the puppies before anymore rain comes my way! I'm nearing the end of my second week of liquids and I'm ready for mushy foods next week. So far, I'm down 30 lbs. since my pre-surgery diet (2 almost two weeks since my banding)! Next week, I start back at the gym! I'm excited not to be hungry all the time.
  21. The bad part about grits (especially for us southern folks) they taste best with lots of butter and salt. As far as any good recipes, I usually would just use the store brands (but not the quick grits version). There is nothing respectable about instant grits.

    Another full day at work! I walked the puppies last night and I'm getting ready to do the same tonight! My puppies will be in shock, a walk two nights in a row. I had much more energy today; I think the full liquids are starting to take effect.
  23. I was able to move off clear liquids today and into whole liquids! I never thought I would be so happy to have something like yogurt or split pea soup. Being able to drink protein shakes also gave me so much more energy today. Energy, that was much needed; today was also my first day back to work. I just got back from a mile-long walk with the puppy dogs, it was a beautiful evening for that. Now I'm beat!

    Banders Exercise

    Today was the first day back to work after being banded last week. I made it the entire eight hour day. Although I spent most of the day sitting down, I still made it the entire day. After eating dinner this evening, I walked a mile with the puppies. I think I'm done for the evening, time to relax a bit and drink some water.
  25. Seven days post surgery, and I went to Home Depot to get some wood for a little project I was doing in the bedroom. As I left the store there was a hotdog cart outside making sausage and peppers. The smell was incredible but I resisted, because, well, I had to. When I got home, I made myself some tomato soup, Yum.
