  1. Agreed....I sent emails, called and got nothing. I am glad I eventually went with Dr Brown, support staff is wonderful and my surgery went as well as it possibly could...very pleased And I still haven't heard from Dr Snyders office...
  2. Seriously???? Do you think I just eat whatever I want without regards to my instructions??? Did I somewhere ask for an opinion or a lecture about my diet?? I am following the plan set out my surgeon and his team after diligent follow up.
  3. My surgeon was Dr Thomas Brown and I was very pleased! They have monthly support groups on Thursdays which, unfortunately, is the day I usually work late so I haven't been able to make it I had a friend who used Dr Snyder and she loved him....his office never returned my calls though
  4. I am three weeks out and am also able to "gulp" Water and Protein shakes...have been for the past week and a half...it's actually like several big swallows in a row. I just started soft food and I can definitely feel the restriction more now...for example, I had planned on three small meatballs and a 1/4 cup of mashed potatoes for lunch yesterday and I was only able to eat 1 1/2 meatballs and 3 small bites of potatoes, I was only able to eat a half of a tilapia filet and was pretty uncomfortable afterward..I think solid food tends to hang out a little longer than liquid. Frankly...I love that I can drink normally...sipping for the rest of my life would have driven me crazy! I decided before surgery that my weight was going to fluctuate...stall, go up, go down. It's the nature of the beast and I can let it drive me too crazy (was up this morning and didn't lose an ounce my 2nd week) I think being a woman and at the mercy of hormonal fluctuations also can have something to do with stalls and small gains. I'm just going to enjoy drinking like a normal person and keep learning and being aware of what and how much food my sleeve will tolerate. Start Weight 231 Surgery Weight 220 Current Weight 202.2 Surgery Date 4/22/14
  5. I only had a 3 day clear liquid diet (Thank Goodness!) I will say the three days on clear liquids were my worst days of this entire process...even more than the two days post op...I was cranky, hungry, depressed and felt "empty" I can't imagine having to do that for 1-4 weeks! Every surgeon is different in the pre-op requirements, it looks like we lucked out with ours I asked my surgeon if everything looked good in there after surgery and he smiled and said "It was all good" I did lose 11 pounds in those three days and didn't gain anything in the hospital, so it was worth it
  6. Probably gaining muscle and losing fat....muscle is going to weigh more This is a good thing!!! Muscle also does wonders for your metabolism!
  7. Ha! I'm afraid that would be itchy!!Luckily (!) Denver is cold and snowy this week! I get a reprieve from the funk!
  8. I agree with getting unflavored Protein powder....mix it with Torani sugar free syrups milk and ice or frozen fruit....not sickly sweet. My favorite is Torani Belgian cookie syrup, half a frozen banana and skim milk...blend til smooth...Soo good!
  9. It's in the Highland area (NW Denver). Put on by Motion Fitness and Massage...Jessica Rose runs it and she is amazing! She does several boot camps a week and this summer is doing the Booty Boot Camp and an abs one I believehttp://motion.abmp.com/booty-bootcamp- Let me know if you want more info!
  10. Booty Boot Camp! Month long, starts in June in Denver, CO
  11. How cute are you??? Excellent Job!
  12. Ha! I'm afraid I can't blame my horrible housekeeping skills on surgery...I have plenty of energy, but have never been a great tidier upper! I wouldn't qualify for hoarders...but my coffee table is never clean!
  13. I promised myself I would take pictures of my progress mainly because it is so hard to see changes day to day....below is high weight (about 230), the day of surgery(220) and today (207.5)....almost 3 weeks out. Please ignore my filthy house and scowl (oh, and the horrible house shoes in the first phot!) Little by little I am getting there
  14. I had surgery April 22...went to the doc Thursday and asked about boot camp....she said "if it hurts don't do it". Went to boot camp yesterday and was able to do all the ab work...my back was more of an issue than abs. Just listen to your body....it'll let ya know if it's not ready
  15. HCG Atkins Weight Watchers (multiple times) The Zone Low Fat Hired a personal trainer Some expensive cleanse (basically gross shakes and vegetables) For a while, in college, I took anything that made my appetite go away...basically speed After what I did to myself to, unsuccessfully, lose weight....removing part if my stomach is the most sensible
  16. I had the surgery April 22 and really have yet to feel "full". I stop eating because I feel I should, not because I feel I have to. No hunger, but no real signs of full. I just started purée, not sure if this will change once I get soft food I'm eating 400-650 calories per day...which seems high. I wish I had the infamous sneeze, hiccup or burp that others seem to get
  17. It must depend on the surgeon. I asked before being wheeled into surgery about wearing a bra and he said it wouldn't be a problem....sure enough, all my incisions were below my bra line and above my waistband. I've had zero problems with clothing. It doesn't hurt to ask beforehand and hopefully your surgeon will accommodate you
  18. So I get bad breath and stinky pits?? :/ Will definitely try the clinical strength...guess the money I save on food will go to deoderant
  19. SparkleCat posted a topic in The Gals' Room
Anyone now have trouble with deoderant working?? I have never had a B.O. problem as long as I remembered deoderant...Degree has always worked well for me...until now. I have found I am "powering through" my deoderant if it is more than 75 degrees outside. Does this last? Is there a deoderant that y'all have found keeps newly discovered BO under control? Or have I just become more stinky for reasons other than WLS?
  20. I have swallowed pills since home from the hospital. I take: Chewable Centrum B12 Vitamin - Pill Prilosec - capsule Crestor - pill Blood Pressure - Pill (this one is a little big, but I have been able to get it down) I haven't had much problem other than occasionally I swallow the Water, but the pill stays in my mouth! Whoops! When that happens I have to wait a moment before trying again.
  21. Congrats on your success! That's awesome! I have a friend who got the lap band and absolutley loves it as well. My surgery went really well...no complications, no nausea, I was back at work in a week. So far I have lost 24.5 lbs from my high weight and 13.5 since surgery. So excited to experience Summer in Colorado in a smaller size
  22. Thanks so much Lia! I'm so sorry you had to go through that! I really appreciate your insight and making me calm down you're awesome
  23. Thank Y'all! My saving grace is that I really have no other symptoms...just the belly ache pain when I drink. I was just shocked when the PA told me it wasn't normal...I swore she was just going to humor me. Will keep any eye on myself this weekend...hopefully it will get better or stay the same. I really appreciate hearing that others have experienced the same...makes me feel a little more normal Just going to sip my powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chicken Soup and watch bad tv
